I don't see why not, but he would have to pay community college tuition and do his own work instead of having Bob do a lot of the CAD work. He could also use online resources to learn it.could he go back to school (where he isn't permabanned) and learn 3D CAD?
If I'm reading PVCC's course catalog right, tuition for MEC 122, 3D Printing for Engineering, costs only $37.50 if he takes it in the beginning of 2027, and I think his previous coursework would fulfill the prerequisite. There is also ART 207, 3D Model Rendering, but it requires two previous art courses - Introduction to Multimedia and Two-Dimensional Design, and I'm not sure he has these done already or not. He might be able to have this requirement waived because of his history of making crappy multimedia art on his own when he's not crashing into slumber.
I couldn't find PVCC's syllabus for MEC 122, but a similar course at SUNY requires a Creality Ender 3 printer, which it says costs $189. I'm not sure if a textbook is required, but two books are listed as references. These can be obtained with Kindle Unlimited for no additional fee, or physical copies may be purchased for $24 and $39 new.
