That strikes me as a fan thing, companies go out of there way to not have anything like that because it could impact sales like how in most Muslim countries Homer doesn’t Drink Beer but Coffee or Coke and remove any scenes involving the Moe's Tavern, or Brok from Pokemon eating Doughnuts rather than Rice Balls etc, Toy Companies that rely on toy sales want every kid to have them all and when you assign a definite religion that makes it verboten in large part of the world that get's in the way of profit.

I thought the rice balls thing was a part of a larger overlocalization effort by translators. Basically they assumed consumers of anime and manga were really dumb, unable to understand a different culture, and easily offended, and so they tried to make everything as relatable to Americans as possible. In the 1980s manga books were new to America, so a lot of effort was put into localizing them. For example, every page was mirrored or even had the panels rearranged, and onomatopoeia were painstakingly translated to English letters, and the result was really expensive manga that took forever to translate. Eventually TokyoPop had the bright idea around 2002 to just translate word bubbles, leave the sound effects as is, and add a warning page telling people they need to read the book from back to front and right to left.

There were some other oddities in Pokemon, like they apparently just didn't air the episode where Ash gets a gun pointed at him in the US, despite guns being so much more prevalent in the US than in Japan. They removed a scene in which Meowth and a cyndaquil are sucking milk from a Miltank's udders too. Also they didn't air the episode that gave hundreds of kids seizures, but that one makes sense.

What 4Kids decided to censor was all over the place across all their shows. There was another episode where Ash runs into a store to get medicine for an injured Pokemon where several customers point rifles at him that aired uncensored in North America. In other shows they would airbrush out text and other times left the text in or later add in scenes that were previously cut out of fear of being too violent.

Funnily enough when Pokemon was announced in the US at E3 1998 the clips from the anime they used came from the pre-Pokemon Shock cut that contained the seizure-inducing "paka-paka" effects that were later darkened and slowed down; they even briefly mentioned the controversy in the presentation video. How people weren't getting seizures prior to the Porygon episode is fucking baffling.

(This is how uneventful Chris has been. The last couple of posts have been sperging about show edits and the Pokemon show, not him...)

Now that he's been known to travel all the way to Finland it's not out of the question, but we'll need photographic evidence. Flutter is not known to be around him right now and I think he needs her for long distance trips, and it would eat up a good chunk of whatever spending money he might have. This might not be a big enough event for him to try to organize a 3000 mile trip like Everfree NW was.

Do we have any knowledge of his opinions on MLP G6, especially the retirement of Rarity and Applejack?

Most of this is rambling about how he wants someone to reach out to him (not the other way around?) so they can do unpaid labor making him custom figures for his videos. He's already been wanting this for several months. However Chris does say that 14 Branchland Ct's mortgage is about 20% completed. The mortgage is over $100k.

The Transformers video he posted right before this announcement video has a part with 7/27/2026 as the date for files on his computer so that's likely when the last editing happened. More of this unwatchable stuff incoming definitely. I do think Chris is in a hotel again right now likely for another convention.

He hasn't said a peep about it yet. He could be waiting out how he should feel about it.
 
Looked at the CWCki earlier and holy shit today marks five years since the arrest.

EDIT: Actually it was yesterday LOL.

Huh, Chris is back at the Big Island house since at least August 2 in another Cameo video. He was seen home on July 29, seen at what appears to be a hotel for July 30/31, and seen back home on August 2. But today it seems Chris posted a clue where he went.

There aren't any standalone Toys R Us stores in Virginia. He's doing the thing again where he pretends his toys are being sold at the stores. Considering the timing, it seems Chris went somewhere and stopped by at their Toys R Us.

Is he trying use forced perspective to make it look like the transformer is real and parked outside a Toys R Us and no one is reactimg to it?
