Better than I was expecting, especially on the male side. I really like Hong Lu's smile appearing squiggly as if he's forcing it, its a very nice touch. Quality wise its leading me to believe it wasn't a knee-jerk response to the backlash they had gotten with the previous ones of their symbols, but it still is very odd to me that they had the crappy cards in the first place.

As long as they prioritize fixing up every single Canto 5 CG first.

The new cards are very nice! It's fun seeing the difference between unsolidified concepts (like Don's mysterious armor from the old art) and the clearer idea of everyone's moment of recruitment. Meursault is more obviously in funeral attire so that helps with pinning where he's at in the timeline of his book.

yi sang is sopping wet from fausts recruitment. Gregor is in his atire when he went berserk. don being made to sit still for once in a century. and hong lu looks more like the trailer

Overall they are way better now.
I like the change in expressions for most of the cast. The mugshots for Sinclair, Heathcliff, Rodion, Outis and Gregor are clearer. Gregor seems "done" or depressed instead of indifferent, Sinclair now has that scary face that he is capable unknowingly doing and Rodion is faking a smile.
The faces are way less flat and round, look at how Sinclair's changes significantly. The hair is way more detailed and has some personality now. Look at how it doesn't use the same puffy pattern that you could see on Ishmael, Sinclair and Don.

There's charm to the old derpy art but it's better. Hong Lu's clothing looks like a traditional asian suit rather than a track suit, which ironically Gregot now wears. Also less massive shoulders which looked like the Wide Putin meme.

This, feminist or not. The old artist seemed to struggle with drawing faces and expressions if they weren't a profile or mugshot. The result was art like the hong lu one a few posts above me. I guess its not BAD bad and had a fair amount of personality to it but its just so distractingly....derpy.

I will miss the old artist but the ruina artist will always be far superior.

I especially like Ryoshu's, most of the time she manages to keep up her impassive mask but the new mugshot really captures her despair, before she looked focused and was looking at the lens straight on but now her eyes look hollow and she can't meet the gaze of the camera, instead looking off into the distance.

Gregor having his homeless hoodie is the best part of this. Bug guy was picked up from the streets and given a purpose through Limbus Company.
Sinclair's new mugshot fits his character better imo. His old mugshot had him in a pseudo-scowl which didn't fit his character since he's all about suppressing his feelings.

Glad that PM didn't do away with the mugshots. Now if only el director could add a bestiary so I can autistically read all the abno logs.
 
So does this mean R corp is going to be in hongs canto? I hope they're not total jobbers but they're kind of allowed to be because of the cloning stuff. I have a feeling they've probably went bankrupt since they weren't doing well in ruina. It'll be cool to see Myo again if she even appears.

R Corp was in dire straits due to the lack of energy which L Corp normally gave them, but they did say cutting the 4th Pack would mostly undo the damages. I don’t think they'll appear themselves, instead, it’s likely a former R Corp executive/one or multiple of the escaped 4th Pack leaders moved to Hong's District and founded the Heishou Packs. They did say they had similar origins but are better than R Corp's.

The fact his entire sense of (forced) whimsy is completely replaced with how genuinely pissed off and in pain he sounds goes to show how fucked up reindeer antlers are. Cluster headaches are no laughing matter and lead to a prolonged sense of hopelessness and despair over time, hence why R.Corp Ishmael has sinking, and Hongers will too.

You think with all the energy that lob corp was trading with other corps, multiple people would have been out of sorts. But I guess it goes to show how resistant the world of project Moon is to change.
Even white nights and dark days didn’t change much when it came to the status quo now that I think about it, it’s depressing to think about but in essence it all just ended up being just another business opportunity.
That also makes me wonder if limbus isn’t going to partake in the energy biz.
