Didn't see much of a thread regarding all the fine antics of Portland and the people who live there, so I thought to make one.

Lesbian bar shuts down one week after opening because they weren't woke enough

Doc Marie’s is a lesbian bar that opened on July 1st of this year with the hope of bringing more inclusivity to the city of Portland. But just one week after their grand opening they were forced to shut down because of complaints that the bar was not a “safe space.” Similar to the story I wrote a few weeks ago about the queer-owned cafe in Philadelphia that was shut down by employees for not being woke enough, Doc Marie’s was cannibalized by the woke mob.

The crowd on opening day was huge. One woman said that the line for entry on opening night was “wrapped around the block” with “literally 200 lesbians” waiting to get in.

But the excitement about a new progressive hangout dissipated quickly. Within days, Doc Marie’s found itself on the receiving end of accusations of not being inclusive enough for trans people and people of color. Despite mask mandates being lifted in Portland, patrons accused the bar of not implementing enough COVID safety measures. Patrons also claimed that Doc Marie’s had “culturally appropriative art” on the walls.
One TikToker, who says she attended the grand opening, breaks down the accusations against the bar:

Employees of Doc Marie’s created an Instagram page to echo these concerns. They claimed that the owners weren’t proactive enough in creating a safe space and accused the owners of racism. The employees also demanded that the bar host “free opportunities for education” for the community.

Eventually, the employees demanded the owners relinquish ownership of the bar and hand the business to them. The owners were given a “24-hour deadline” to adhere to the ludicrous demands.

Just five days after opening, the bar announced on July 6th that they had to close temporarily in order to address the cries from the woke mob for a “safe and inclusive space.”

Surrendering to the woke mob doesn’t appear to be working out in Doc Marie’s favor, as the bar remains closed with no public plan to reopen.

You're joking, right? Please tell me this is a shit post designed to get retards to kill themselves on fentanyl.
When St Floyd died I saw hundreds of medical experts on various TV panels that were saying that Floyd could not have died from an OD, beause it is literally impossible to OD from Fentanyl.

That was what all the doctors said during St Floyd and I believe the doctors and I believe science.
(They would not lie on TV, would they?)

Protesters in vehicles block road leading to Portland airport

PORTLAND, Ore. — About 50 vehicles blocked inbound lanes on Airport Way, west of Northeast 82nd Avenue, for close to an hour, cutting off the entrance to Portland International Airport (PDX) on Monday afternoon, the Port of Portland reported.
The caravan of vehicles that blocked the road is part of a protest against the conflict in Gaza, according to the Portland of Portland.

Port of Portland Police officers responded to the scene, "working to reroute shuttle buses and traffic to minimize the impact." Officials have yet to say what kind of delays the protest will cause for travelers.
"It took us 30-35 minutes to go not even 2 miles, I'm actually seriously worried about missing my flight," said traveler Alan Boyd.
He was frustrated over the timing of the protest.
"There's a time and place for everything and during holidays, disrupting families getting home is not the time to do it."
An off-duty KGW producer who was stuck in the traffic jam at the airport caused by the protesters, said traffic was stopped for at least 45 minutes.
"People have been walking to get to their flights from the streets with their luggage in hand," she said. "Buses that transport people are stuck on the road, completely empty with the doors open, and everybody walked to the airport."
An Uber driver told KGW that many people stuck in the traffic jam tried to divert to a frontage road to get to the terminal but that road was jammed with traffic, too.
The protest started at around 3:25 p.m. and as of about 4:15 p.m., the Port of Portland said the situation was "actively unfolding."
A KGW photographer at the airport said police had cleared the road by around 4:35 p.m. and KGW received reports that the protest group had moved elsewhere. Shortly before 5 p.m., the Port of Portland confirmed that Airport Way was clear, though traffic remained congested.

When even the Portland redditors have turned on you, you've lost Portland.

The sheer stupidity of these people was already pretty bad, but then the Gaza affair put a double XP modifier on it, I swear.

How is blocking people who don't make foreign policy from going about their day going to have any affect on foreign policy? Let alone that they seem to be completely unaware the US did not start this war, and isn't directly in this war, so they can't stop it.

They're demanding the US government do something it can't do, by harassing non-government employees....

This is like going to a restaurant and telling the staff you won't leave until they do something about your car's gas mileage......

As my favorite redditor of the week /u/peakchungus repeatedly points out but fails to elaborate on, it's about 'raising awareness.'

Awareness of what?

That Jews and Arabs like killing each other.

That there is a section of chronically asocial assholes in America (activists) desperate for attention and 'The Cause' is just an excuse for them to ruin someone else's day.

That Portland/Multnomah County is utterly cucked and will allow this to continue, because the aforementioned asocial assholes will receive, at worst, probation, once their (((ACLU and NLG))) lawyers intervene.

The chances that any arrests were even made is somewhere around 0%
More likely they were asked politely to please move on.

The proper response would be to drag them out of their cars to jail and have a fleet of tow trucks drag their cars away and drop them in random places downtown with the keys still in them.

Reminder for visitors that r/PortlandOR was created in response to r/Portland 's tyrannical jannies.

The new sub is of course derided as fascist by residents/jannies of the former.

I wish just once the PPB would be as brutal as these retards say they are. Tune them up with batons, jail them, impound their vehicles, find a way to stick them with felonies for this. I'm so sick of faggy protests clogging already shitty roads.

Oh, look, what a surprise

No arrests made after ‘caravan’ of 50 vehicles blocks PDX access in protest

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A “caravan” of 50 vehicles filled with people protesting the war in Gaza blocked Airport Way outside the Portland International Airport at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Jan. 1, preventing travelers from reaching their terminals by car for several hours.
Port of Portland Police responded to the scene but made no arrests during the demonstration. No flights were delayed as a result of the demonstration, causing some of those stuck in traffic to exit their vehicles and attempt to reach their terminals by walking along Airport Way, KGW reported.

The Portland International airport, which is operated by Port of Portland, issued a statement about the incident on social media at 5:01 p.m., after protesters cleared the road at approximately 4:30 p.m.
“Hello, travelers headed to PDX,” the airport wrote on social media. “A protest caused a temporary roadblock on Airport Way. We’re working to minimize the impact on your journey. The Port Police have cleared the roadblock and are working to reroute shuttle buses and traffic. Your safety and smooth travel are our top priorities. Thanks for your patience and understanding.”

Port of Portland said that the protesters violated Oregon law by intentionally impeding traffic and barricading a public roadway. However, the agency’s spokesperson Kara Hansen told KOIN 6 News that the agency helped passengers attempting to get to the airport by foot during the demonstration.
“In order to balance support of free speech activity with the unique safety, security and accessibility needs of the airport, PDX routinely works with protest organizers to identify various locations where groups can picket during set hours to ensure safety and minimize the impact on travelers,” Hansen said. “While organizers of this protest had not requested a permit, Port of Portland police worked with partners to reroute traffic and have buses available to assist those attempting to reach the airport on foot while traffic was temporarily disrupted.”

I say we dust off and nuke Portland from orbit, it's the only way to be sure.

The Portland Police Bureau Central Bike Squad are an interesting case.

They've been patrolling downtown for many years, long before the entire descent into Wheelerville, and at some point created an informative, darkly comedic Instagram account - I think partly because they didn't think people would believe what they see on the daily.

They have some fun:

Sometimes they will let the perps pick the smiley that will be used to cover their face, and their logo stickers have become popular enough that people will stop them and ask for one.

They will also happily advertise their ride alongs with foreign journos, civilians and assistant DA's with a delicious whiff of malicious compliance - we know which DA's are NOT riding along and experiencing the results of their brain-blind folly.

Also part of their appeal is occasional glimpses behind the curtain; there's a human there!

They posted this earlier, which might seem innocuous, but I think is indicative of a shift in... Something.

Heroin is expensive, fent is cheap as fuck and has for the last few years been the easiest way for criddlers to get high.

Heroin represents the 'dream of the 90's' in Portland.

Decided let them know what came to mind, and for the first time, got a private reaction to yelling into the void at the bike crew.

The beauty of this drug is that it is very safe, and you can not OD from it.
That was what all the doctors said during St Floyd and I believe the doctors and I believe science.
And yet when one searches "LD50 fentanyl" (sans quotes) on Google, this can be the first result:

How Much Fentanyl is Dangerous? The LD50 (lethal dose) for pure Fentanyl, is estimated at 2 milligrams (mgs) for a typical adult [Reference: RCMP and United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA].

Maybe this is petty and bitter of me but I don't care I take solace in the fact bay area retards who move up to Portland are spending 800k on houses just to have to deal with homeless people camping out infront of their houses. A weird form of cosmic justice for making it so many natives can't afford rent. Like they probably thought leaving San Francisco they would escape waking up to homeless shit but now have to deal with it just the same

lol this makes me so happy I can't even tell you

don't feel petty and bitter, feel JOY

Regarding the church arsonist: "We don't know what their gender identity would be if they were not out of their minds."

Fuck singular "they." Every person who writes like this to a prison camp until the soy poisoning wears off, every person who uses it for himself to the gallows.

Even Portlanders are sick of WTFBBQ

"People of Pronouns can be genocided by uwu uncomfy-ness if they can't be amongst their genderkin in the homeless shelter, that's why we need homeless shelters just for the extra-special alphabet people and no one else, it's called being a good person okay and it's literally the least you can do, please do better."

I guarantee if someone replied with "Sure, like how women need DV/homeless shelters that exclude men so they don't have to worry about getting raped or strangled while they sleep," this creature's reply would be "STFU TERF"

Fentanyl state of emergency declared in downtown Portland, Oregon (archive)

January 30, 2024

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Several elected leaders in Oregon declared a state of emergency on Tuesday for downtown Portland over the public health and public safety crisis fueled by fentanyl.

Oregon Gov. Tina Kotek, Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler and Multnomah County Chair Jessica Vega Pederson made the declaration for a 90-day period during which collaboration and response will come from a command center downtown. The three governments are directing their agencies to work with first responders in connecting people addicted to the synthetic opioid with resources including drug treatment programs and to crack down on drug sales.

“Our country and our state have never seen a drug this deadly addictive, and all are grappling with how to respond,” Kotek said in a statement.

The declaration is a recommendation from a governor-established task force that met for several months last year to determine ways to rejuvenate downtown Portland.

People addicted to fentanyl who interact with first responders in Portland’s downtown in the next 90 days will be triaged by this new command center. Staff can connect people with various resources from a bed in a drug treatment center to meeting with a behavioral health clinician to help with registering for food stamps.

“We cannot underestimate the tremendous value of bringing leaders from different disciplines in a room on a daily basis who all account for a different part of the solution,” Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler said in a statement.

Mike Myers, the director of Portland’s Community Safety Division, will head the city’s command team. Nathan Reynolds, deputy policy chief at the state’s Office of Resilience and Emergency Management, will be the state’s incident commander.

The effort also extends the Portland Police Bureau’s partnership with Oregon State Police to jointly patrol downtown streets for fentanyl sales. It additionally kicks off information campaigns centered on drug use prevention and recovery programs across the region. The county will expand outreach and training on how to administer Narcan, an overdose-reversal drug.

The program doesn’t establish any goals to measure success. Kotek said the next 90 days will provide a road map for the next steps.

The synthetic opioid addiction and overdose crisis that has gripped the U.S. for over two decades has left governments at the federal, state and local levels scrambling for solutions.

At the state level, Oregon lawmakers have introduced a new bill that would undo a key part of the state’s drug decriminalization law. Public opinion has soured on it as public drug use has become more visible because of growing homelessness.

And President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping announced last fall that China was telling its chemical companies to restrict shipments to Latin America and elsewhere of the materials used to produce fentanyl, which is largely finished in Mexico and then smuggled into the U.S.

I'm pretty sure it would be cheaper for them to hand out free fentanyl and let nature take it's course, rather than hand out narcan and fund homeless shelters.

How hard did they run the numbers on this emergency?
