Didn't see much of a thread regarding all the fine antics of Portland and the people who live there, so I thought to make one.

Lesbian bar shuts down one week after opening because they weren't woke enough​



Doc Marie’s is a lesbian bar that opened on July 1st of this year with the hope of bringing more inclusivity to the city of Portland. But just one week after their grand opening they were forced to shut down because of complaints that the bar was not a “safe space.” Similar to the story I wrote a few weeks ago about the queer-owned cafe in Philadelphia that was shut down by employees for not being woke enough, Doc Marie’s was cannibalized by the woke mob.

The crowd on opening day was huge. One woman said that the line for entry on opening night was “wrapped around the block” with “literally 200 lesbians” waiting to get in.


But the excitement about a new progressive hangout dissipated quickly. Within days, Doc Marie’s found itself on the receiving end of accusations of not being inclusive enough for trans people and people of color. Despite mask mandates being lifted in Portland, patrons accused the bar of not implementing enough COVID safety measures. Patrons also claimed that Doc Marie’s had “culturally appropriative art” on the walls.
One TikToker, who says she attended the grand opening, breaks down the accusations against the bar:


Employees of Doc Marie’s created an Instagram page to echo these concerns. They claimed that the owners weren’t proactive enough in creating a safe space and accused the owners of racism. The employees also demanded that the bar host “free opportunities for education” for the community.

Eventually, the employees demanded the owners relinquish ownership of the bar and hand the business to them. The owners were given a “24-hour deadline” to adhere to the ludicrous demands.

Just five days after opening, the bar announced on July 6th that they had to close temporarily in order to address the cries from the woke mob for a “safe and inclusive space.”

Surrendering to the woke mob doesn’t appear to be working out in Doc Marie’s favor, as the bar remains closed with no public plan to reopen.

no this is a common misunderstanding. there are superficial resemblences to the degeneracy in both places but I have spent extensive time working, going to school, and raising children in both places and they are no in way the same.

CA is really a separate country, not simply because it has a distinct culture, but because it has its own institutions which are entirely controlled by Californians

OR has no defenses, no local elite, no history anyone remembers. OR literally cannot govern itself, government in OR is run by outsiders as part of their democratic party career path which they devoutly hope will lead them elsewhere, because the educational system here *literally does not produce enough people who can do the jobs.*

This is one of the major reasons OR is so much more livable than CA, because the state is *so* dysfunctional here you get left alone, however it also means that anything can be done to these people no matter how they feel about it. Californians to a very large degree want things to be the way they are there, they like it that way. Oregonians don't but they're totally disenfranchised.

Ableism At The Anarchy Fair



On November 25th 2023, a small group of disabled trans anti-eugenicists confronted a festival of ableist violence in so called "Portland, Oregon". This was done against libertarians posing as anarchists whom avoid taking responsibility for the violence they have perpetrated by spreading SARS-CoV-2 and its strains without mitigation. Their violence follows the logic of settlers who unleashed smallpox on the Indigenous peoples of Turtle Island.

The fake anarchists who organized this festival have published a statement supporting the continuation of the COVID genocide through promoting anti-masking rhetoric in a publication called Anarchy Anarchy Anarchy!. In this newspaper, they wrote that anti-ableists who wheat pasted demands of leftist spaces to require masks are the equivalent of health cops and that mask requirements are "gulag as fuck". These are in line with common talking points that fascists in this country make in support of the COVID genocide, claiming that mask and vaccine mandates are "authoritarian" even though they directly mitigate ableist violence. The millions dead and disabled from COVID show that refusing to mask is the real authoritarianism, because it makes space lethally inaccessible for disabled people and is killing & disabling marginalized people in mass unlike mask requirements.

This narrative also obscures the true role of the police as shock troopers for reproducing all systems of oppression. It ignores how police forces across the country & globally are responsible for pushing anti-masking practices & COVID denial in their own ranks. This violence functions as a further enforcement of genocide through their systemic power, such as exposing prisoners to COVID while withholding masks, tests & vaccines, leaving them to long term disabilities and in worst cases, death.

Our original intentions as a group were to go in, burn their ableist newspapers, make our statement at the firepit and leave, without creating bodily harm or fighting anyone. Yet upon collecting the materials we were dog piled, beaten and swung at. This forced us to respond in self defense, resulting in at least two anti-maskers getting directly damaged by our attacks. The way these reactionaries resorted to bashing the disabled trans women whom confronted their anti-masking rhetoric does not compare to the lethal violence of their willing spread of COVID. Yet we found it hypocritical that the TERFs who invaded town on 11/19/2023 and many local fascists were beaten less hard than what disabled trans women received for calling out ableism in this "anarchist" space, as unfortunately TERFs and local fascist rarely are inflicted the brutal retaliation they deserve here. We believe this intense reaction against vocal disabled trans people reveal the fascist taint in these "anarchist" anti-maskers, who rarely enact that level of violence onto other right wingers. We urge people to deplatform their crypto-fascist newspaper and these ableist talking points everywhere.

We also call for people to create space to grieve the ongoing losses & deaths from the COVID genocide, as state power & its organizational control continue to push its colonial legacy from our collective memory. From AIDS activists worldwide, to the antifascists who had fought against Pinochet, disrupting public spaces to create living sites of greiving against the ongoing violence can be a powerful act to end the silence which both obscures these deaths & benefits from their erasure. We believe that it is legitimate for people to force events like anarchy fair to be locations of grieving, so the violence is not ignored and the proud perpetrators are revealed.

We are proud of resisting the COVID genocide, because to remain passive in the face of violence, or to spend our time & efforts convincing committed ableists to stop the violence, only perpetuates the reproduction of ableism. We will fight until all disabled people are liberated from the domination of ableism, and until the grip of white supremacy is destroyed by the fury of anti-colonial rebellion! We know that only in direct conflict will hierarchy begin to crumble.

For the destruction of all oppression! Long live the struggle for the liberation of disabled people!

Because the anarchy fair was being organized by anti maskers, we wanted to remind attendees we actually can protect us. Last night we left messages at entrances and a few visible locations as well as added a bit of stench that will make attending in a mask more pleasant than maskless. The state wants us dead! We want you here to fight with us.

Expectations vs. Reality – A personal reflection and response to a recent post

If the authors of this piece were so concerned the anarchist fair held this weekend was “organized by anti maskers”, I think that actually seeing the event, even just for a bit, would’ve alleviated their fears.

I was there for a lot of the event, mostly in a mask, and experienced no anti-mask sentiment. Throughout the event, some people wore masks, including people tabling and leading workshops, while others were unmasked, depending on their individual circumstances, or what they were doing in the moment, etc. To me, this made sense for an open outdoors event where people had food and hot drinks throughout. Someone brought a whole table full of stuffies dressed up in little black masks to give out, and someone else had some n95s available for those who wanted.

The evidence of the anti-anti-masker (?) activists’ visit the night before was clear; there were two tags as far as I could see- “real (A)s wear masks” and “anti maskers fk off” as well as some liquid mixture of shit (literally!!!) poured on the basketball court and next to the playground. No one seemed to take any issue with the messages, and the big banner hung on the wall of the elementary school was lifted high enough to avoid covering the “anti maskers fk off” graffiti. The shit was another story.

Some folks covered up the poop liquid with mulch and barkchips from the school garden and playground, and they found traffic cones to mark off the places where it was poured, but no one could really clean it up safely. The whole day I watched people warn parents bringing their kids to play so they could try to keep the kids out of the poop puddles, but of course a few toddlers managed to get into the shit-mulch before someone noticed. To be clear, this is disgusting and unacceptable. Even if the attendees WERE anti maskers, pouring shit all over the ground where kids play every day, where it will remain all weekend, long after the event is over, shows a complete disregard for any critical thinking or basic ethics, just a single-minded obsession with this one cause at the expense of caring about LITERALLY anything else, no matter who it might harm. Inexcusable. Obviously, spreading poop on a playground isn’t at all clean, safe, healthy; that’s far far more likely to get someone sick than the actual event. The activists who did it said they “wanted to remind attendees we actually can protect us”, but who can you protect with poop and graffiti slogans? Why not give out masks or covid tests or vaccine information or talk to people or anything at all?

In reality, we protected each other by cleaning up their shitty mess. We learned how we can protect each other at the Narcan training and at the anti-repression strategy workshop. We worked through how to care for each other better in the discussion about mutual aid. The poop-and-painters, whatever their intentions were, didn’t protect anyone.

Later on in the afternoon, a few people started a fight with the fair which I’ll do my best to describe.

I saw someone snatch several stacks of papers off a table and try to take them away, and someone else grabbed the stacks out of their hands. Then the first person yelled “Fuck you antimaskers!” and ran and flipped the fire pit. Someone wearing a helmet and big airsoft goggles pepper sprayed someone, which started a fight, and they (helmet + goggles) got shoved and hit by a bunch of people and pushed away from the fair into the playground. In the chaos, another fair attendee got pepper sprayed, but I didn’t see how it happened. In the end, there were three of them getting walked out of the park until they were across the street and left, while a lot of people were helping the folks who’d gotten hit with pepper spray. People came together to get water, soap and clean cloths to wash off pepper spray, to go talk to the confused parents and other people at the playground about what had happened, to clean up the fire pit and coals that got scattered, and generally get things back on schedule.

Before too long, the next workshop, about ageing as an anarchist, began with the person leading it asking (joking?) for the audience to let them know if any more people wearing helmets came up behind them.

Afterwards, I can’t help but think that those three, so ready to confront an antimasker event, would’ve seen what was happening at the fair when they first showed up, seen people wearing masks, and had a moment to rethink their assumptions before rushing in to pick a fight.
What if they’d tried talking to folks about it first?

Anti-maskers, those who are against masks being worn, often violently so, are absolutely worthy of hostility, even violence. The reactionaries who yell at you for wearing a mask, call you “sheep” or worse, spit on people, try to rip masks off peoples’ faces – they cannot be tolerated. Anyone determined to exert such control over someone else’s bodily autonomy should be unwelcome anywhere. I don’t think there was anyone like that at the event, and I wonder if the anti-anti-mask activists even do. Is the label “antimasker” even being used honestly? Maybe the rhetoric has become so warped that to them an anti-masker is just anyone who is unmasked in the moment, no matter the circumstances? It would help to see some sort of proposal alongside simplistic slogans and provocations.
At the fair, a COVID discussion had been on the schedule all day, and ended up getting skipped over because of the pepper spray, which, somewhat ironically, happened during its assigned time slot. I wish that it hadn’t been left behind, because clearly there’s a need for more real discussion of what a consistent anarchist practice of care should look like. I’m not sure exactly what it must include, and while I know masking has a valuable part to play, I can’t imagine there’s any place for slinging shit and pepper spray at every gathering of anarchists eating together in a public park.

I just find it hilarious that they're so completely insane as to claim not abiding by government-imposed mask mandates is fascism. Now, while that isn't exactly rare among the left, its the way they phrase it is just so earnest and sincere that I am forced to conclude these people are so detached from reality only a padded cell is appropriate to ensure they no longer harm themselves or others.
 
They seem to think that anarchism is the same as totalitarian communism, or they think you're too stupid to notice what they actually advocate for.
 

Portland sees increase in diseases spread by human waste​

Multnomah County is encouraging residents to watch their hygiene after a boost in shigella cases was observed in Old Town Portland.

Excerpt:
A total of 218 cases have been reported in 2023, with the county saying that the majority of strains penetrate the region by way of international travelers and “social-sexual networks.”

“Local disease patterns suggest that fecal-oral spread through sexual contact may account for between half and more than two thirds of all cases without international travel. The rest are typically attributed to other types of person-to-person spread including outbreaks among populations with lack of hygiene, shelter, and sanitation, and among people who use illicit substances,” county officials explained to KOIN 6 News.

The county added that “during 2020 a single strain of Shigella caused multiple clusters among men who have sex with men, persons experiencing homelessness, as well as causing outbreaks at a food cart, and separately, a healthcare facility. Multnomah County epidemiology immediately identified these shifts into defined outbreaks and were successful in stopping illness spread from the food cart as well as within the healthcare facility.”

They could have been fent zombies but they also could have been stage 4 cancer patients, and she was probably doing this so she could sell it on the streets. Hope she rots.

Why would you steal Fentanyl?
The beauty of this drug is that it is very safe, and you can not OD from it. It is also very very cheap and readily available at every street corner.

You do not need to steal to get Fenta as each hit only costs a single dollar. And unlike Heroin you can not OD from it.
The low cost of the drug also reduces the need to commit property crimes to fund the addiction.

In every sense Fentanyl is a miracle drug that should be celebrated.

Hospital staff who divert meds are almost always doing it for their own habit. There's no shortage of fentanyl on the streets; selling fentanyl as a side hustle would be less lucrative than becoming a doTERRA rep.

You're right that it's a shitty method that ends up with a body count and people getting IV tap water. That's how someone ends up with charges rather than going through a drug program and keeping their license with restrictions and monitoring.

The only thing that could possibly make it make sense is if RVMC is one of those places that keeps their flushes in the Pyxis so the nurse was drawing up sink water into empty 10mL syringes, but even that's a reach. You have to be pretty dumb or actively cruel to fail this hard at diverting opiates in an ICU.

Maybe this is petty and bitter of me but I don't care I take solace in the fact bay area retards who move up to Portland are spending 800k on houses just to have to deal with homeless people camping out infront of their houses. A weird form of cosmic justice for making it so many natives can't afford rent. Like they probably thought leaving San Francisco they would escape waking up to homeless shit but now have to deal with it just the same
