Didn't see much of a thread regarding all the fine antics of Portland and the people who live there, so I thought to make one.

Lesbian bar shuts down one week after opening because they weren't woke enough​



Doc Marie’s is a lesbian bar that opened on July 1st of this year with the hope of bringing more inclusivity to the city of Portland. But just one week after their grand opening they were forced to shut down because of complaints that the bar was not a “safe space.” Similar to the story I wrote a few weeks ago about the queer-owned cafe in Philadelphia that was shut down by employees for not being woke enough, Doc Marie’s was cannibalized by the woke mob.

The crowd on opening day was huge. One woman said that the line for entry on opening night was “wrapped around the block” with “literally 200 lesbians” waiting to get in.


But the excitement about a new progressive hangout dissipated quickly. Within days, Doc Marie’s found itself on the receiving end of accusations of not being inclusive enough for trans people and people of color. Despite mask mandates being lifted in Portland, patrons accused the bar of not implementing enough COVID safety measures. Patrons also claimed that Doc Marie’s had “culturally appropriative art” on the walls.
One TikToker, who says she attended the grand opening, breaks down the accusations against the bar:


Employees of Doc Marie’s created an Instagram page to echo these concerns. They claimed that the owners weren’t proactive enough in creating a safe space and accused the owners of racism. The employees also demanded that the bar host “free opportunities for education” for the community.

Eventually, the employees demanded the owners relinquish ownership of the bar and hand the business to them. The owners were given a “24-hour deadline” to adhere to the ludicrous demands.

Just five days after opening, the bar announced on July 6th that they had to close temporarily in order to address the cries from the woke mob for a “safe and inclusive space.”

Surrendering to the woke mob doesn’t appear to be working out in Doc Marie’s favor, as the bar remains closed with no public plan to reopen.

Victim has throat slashed in yet another Portland MAX attack, suspect stabs 2nd victim same night​

PORTLAND, Ore. — Yet another person became a victim of violence while using Portland TriMet last Saturday - this time an unprovoked throat slashing on a MAX platform.

Moctezuma Garcia, 24, is charged with 2 counts of attempted murder for what police say are a series of unprovoked attacks in downtown Portland.

According to court documents, TriMet surveillance from Saturday, August 26 shows Garcia "stalk the victim" and look around for a while at the MAX raised platform near 720 SW Broadway. Garcia then allegedly walked up to the victim and slashed his throat in an unprovoked attack,

The victim walked away holding his neck "as blood poured out." The suspect was described as a shirtless man in his 30s.

A still image of the suspect was sent out to police, and an officer recognized Garcia as the suspect who had attacked an unknown victim with a skateboard in another unrelated incident.

Later that night, a man was stabbed in the chest outside Momo's bar on Southwest 10th Avenue. Again the suspect was described as a man in his thirties without a shirt.

A witness to the stabbing and another Good Samaritan applied pressure to the victim's wound until paramedics arrived.

The suspect, later identified as Garcia, was arrested less than a half-hour later near the intersection of Southwest 14th and Alder.

Garcia was booked into jail Friday afternoon and will be arraigned Tuesday morning. Prosecutors have filed paperwork asking for a preventative detention hearing requesting that bail not be granted to Garcia.


 
Ok, I confused myself. there apparently have been multiple stabbings in or around Portland public transit in the last week.

Man charged with bias crime after allegedly stabbing two teens on MAX train in Portland​

A man has been charged with bias crime and assault after allegedly stabbing two teenagers on a TriMet MAX light rail train on the green line in Southeast Portland on Saturday.

In a press release, Portland police said 25-year-old Adrian Cummins stabbed two 17-year-old boys “because of his perception of the victims’ race.”


Police did not state the racial identities of the victims nor Cummins in the press release.

The stabbing happened around 5:45 p.m. in Portland’s Lents neighborhood. Police said they initially responded to reports of a stabbing at the Flavel Street station, but further investigation revealed “the assault began on a MAX train.” The train was later stopped at the Clackamas Town Center station.

Police said Cummins left the Flavel Street station shortly after the assault, but officers found him a few minutes later near the intersection of Flavel Street and Southeast 92nd Avenue. They said Cummins started running and they chased him for several blocks. Police caught up to him and detained him near the Willamette National Cemetery.

One of the victims was transported to a hospital by ambulance, and the other was treated at the scene. Police said their injuries aren’t life-threatening.

Police said Cummins also robbed a convenience store at knife point earlier that day. He has also been charged with robbery.



This one is a felon. Who committed 2 more felonies in April and was then dismissed about a week ago. Not sure why the hell a felon in possession of a firearm and silencer would be simply dismissed.

It's simple really, Portland "prosecutors" cannot stop fellating criminals and cry when one is sent to jail for more than 24 hours.

Ergo, they drop charges whenever possible.

The reason given on the order is "STATE CANNOT PROCEED - DISMISS INFORMATION".

He was supposed to be arraigned on an indictment, but there's no indictment on file. Could be that the state couldn't get everything together for the grand jury in time.

Some of you might like the guy (excerpt from probable cause affidavit for the most recent case):

Joshua was riding on the Max Train Southbound with his friend Damien Morin when a white male that was wearing all black jumped up and yelled "Fuck Niggers" and then proceeded to stab Morris once in the left arm and stab Morin once in the upper left chest. One of the victims was nicked in the heart and has bleeding around his lungs, he was still intubated in ICU as of the time the report was written.

The chain of events started with a convenience store robbery where Cummins pulled his knife on a clerk, apparently over a Little Debbie oatmeal cream pie (which the officer found on his person).

All in all, it looks bad for the DA's office, but I suspect this one is more about incompetence than about accelerationism.

Everyone here should donate to the DA campaign of the most leftleaning candidate in every election.
Abolish crime, abolish police, abolish prisons. Stop prosecuting anything.

Voodoo as a donut place is fine. My main issue with it is how massively overhyped it is. If you go look up "What to do in Portland" Voodoo is always listed super high when you are literally just going to stand in line to get a donut that looks like a dick. I just don't get the novelty personally. Also if you go to the main downtown location which is in old town you will be smelling piss as you eat.

It's overrated from a tourism perspective, but Blue Star gets all the high marks from people who actually live in the area. That said, I like Voodoo because it's open 24 hours (or at least used to be), so it's perfect for my drunk ass.
 
Disagree 1000% it’s overhyped and tastes like shit. I was forced to wait in a line all morning for shit that tastes worse than cheap donuts from a gas station. Though I’ll just say it’s my own opinion because I don’t really like donuts to begin with but I was trapped in the hype by a ex lol.

I lived in Gresham so I didn’t go downtown often but when I did I always regretted my choice. Expect for the first few months I lived there when it was my first time being that close to a major city so I was dumbstruck. Thankfully I’ve learned better since those days.

In cities, 24-hour donut places were pretty common before COVID. Back when I was young and dumb and still in college it was one of the things I admired about cities, especially as the local donut shops closed up shop around early afternoon.

Here it's 30 bucks for a dozen donuts here but I live in Dallas and they're not too crazy but overpriced. But the. Again deep elum is safe to take the kids and stoners during the day while after dark it's 18+ only.

Dallas Metro I guess hasn't gotten the memo yet as there are a couple of 24/7 Dunkin locations still left.

I think one thing accelerated things in downtown Portland is the work from home shift. In 2020 lots of people worked downtown and naturally all the people going there, and riding transit made things a bit safer. Now without people for 2 years almost no one wants to go back downtown for work, no one rides transit and both have been basically taken over by the criddlers. So now the companies who do want their employees in the office, including the City of Portland are being told by employees: "Fuck that". And the smarter companies are reducing their office space with mostly remote work or leaving all together, with even less traffic downtown things get even less safe.

I don't feel the need to conceal carry in much of Oregon, Portland is a definite exception, fuck Portland.
 
I spent a lot of time away from the area this summer and coming back it's really overwhelming how mentally unwell people are.

not anything specific really, most of it is subtle, but people can't have normal conversations and they're really poorly groomed. and of course they're tolerating other people pooping or hitting themselves with sticks or other fun crazy people antics right there in front of them, that's not exactly sane.

oh and *everyone* who isn't either a fullblown redneck or keeping their voting habits a closely guarded secret is a total doomer. you talk to people for 30 seconds and you hit their beliefs in the coming end of the world.
