Personally I don't find a gen 4 remake necessary. Gen 3 was the last one that seemed particularly antiquated because it was before the physical-special split, but I don't think gen 4 is all that antiquated at this point. The only real QoL improvement it's missing is the infinite tms which is something you can just plan around.

Gamefreak seems to be past making games because of necessity. A Gen 4 remake would practically be a money printer considering how many gen 4 spergs like myself are out there.

If its literally made for 2021 with the coof fucking with it's development, oh its gonna be dogshit possibly worse than usual

I'm hopeful despite what happened with the recent entry. Especially since the last remake was pretty good (ORAS, not Let's Go if you consider it a remake).

ORAS was good, but I'm not optimistic. USUM, Let's Go, and SwSh were all.... ok, I guess. That's the best I can say. They're missing the care and polish that I would expect out of a flagship title with the kinds of budgets they have. And still, mediocre games print a ton of money for GF. They have no financial incentive to spend the time and money that they need to put out a finished, polished release. Why bother when they can publish a clearly unfinished title that the market will gobble up? I'm also a gen4 nostalgia fag, but I have no intention of buying a lazy remake that they took out of the oven before it was done.

I'd just say bring it back to the Let's Go engine. I still don't jive with how funky SwSh is.

I'd at least be glad about the Underground getting an upgrade, like the ORAS Secret Bases. However, we won't get cucked with another random Maison, but we'll just get the Battle Tower, no Palmer.

You mean Flint, Aaron was the Bug guy. Also Heatran wasn't even in the Sinnoh dex, even in Platinum. For some reason Diamond and Pearl left out the majority of new cross-gen evolutions and a few legendaries and mythicals, but even the platinum dex only added the former and Giratina.

Heatran, Regigigas, Cresselia, Phione, Darkrai, Shaymin, and Arceus remain outside of the dex, and remain the only Pokemon to have never been in any regional pokedex in the entire series.

Though even if DP added all of the new cross-gens, that only would've added Magmortar and Flareon(due to Leafeon and Glaceon) to Flint's team, and so the Houndoom line was also added in when Platinum was released. with those he just got the 5 Pokemon needed for a full E4 team of nothing but Fire types.

The lack of types was also a problem with DP in general, Candice had a Medicham and Volkner has an Ambipom and Octillery due to the lack of enough Ice and Electric types for full teams.
 
If you're interested in collecting, there's an event in Go right now where Meltan can be shiny. Combos nicely with the free mystery box that you get for your first Go > Home transfer. Runs to the 23rd local time.

ORAS didn't give us the Hoenn Battle Frontier. Fucking why.

It wasn't a bad remake, I still enjoyed it, but I ultimately was left feeling like something was missing from it, and it wasn't the lack of a Battle Frontier. It's kinda telling that some time after finishing Delta that I just have no interest in booting up my copy of OmegaRuby even though I played the crap out of Ruby for many years before the clock's battery drained (never got that Berry Glitch patch).
