Got Azurill in shield and I'm just sitting here, drunk, upset at what a wasted opportunity the pikachu clones are. I seriously wish they had gone with different types as opposed to electric. Plusle and minum are the worst of this, super uncreative.
That's why Mimikyu is the best non-clone thus far. Dedenne can hit the trash to be honest.

Yo, I like raiding by myself but the fucking NPC's fold like paper and my insanely high level pokemon, almost all level 100, they just don't do shit to it before it knocks out the shitty npc. I've seen people online's attacks absolutely ignore the shield and hit hard, how do I do that? Is there anything special I need to do?

Any sort of explanation got lost on me in my attempt at shiny hunting

The npcs are the worst. Ironically the girl with the Magicarp is the most useful one. The others are either frail or spam non damaging moves, which is bad in a battle with damage checks. It feels like single players are getting punished for not going online.

I do notice that if your Pokemon is dyna/gigamaxed and has a super effective move and hits the enemy while a shield is up it will take 2 bars off instead of one.

I just alternate between Eternatus, Sword-dog, and any level 100 legendary I have since those can all dynamax (make sure to give them ten of the candy or they wont do as much damage). The first two can't dynamax but they have a move that does double damage on pokemon that do, combine that with sword dog's ability giving him a +1 right away and you'll do a lot of damage. With Eternatus, give it a choice specs and spam that anti-dynamax laser beam. With normal legendaries do the same but with dynamax and a super effective STAB move. I get a lot of use out of Mewtwo and crown goat riding the ghost horse. You'll still get screwed over sometimes by NPCs sometimes though. Sometimes it's better to just run and restart with a fresh set of NPCs. Just keep hitting. Though if you DO have a friend to bring along, have one of you use a dynamaxed legendary and the other use Eternatus or a Sword/Shield dog. It's a good combo.

Two people is usually enough to account for NPC stupidity in dynamax adventures as well. As one guy though, it's all up to luck. I once got through one with three mostly stupid NPCs because nothing we fought could handle the imposter ditto they gave me at the start. It handled the legendary on it's own.

What game are you playing? They do the same thing in normal dens where they focus on status moves instead of dealing damage.
It depends on the pokemon, the AI is better with some than others. For status focused mons Xatu has actually been consistently helpful when I see it. They seem to have a different pool to choose from than the regular raids so it might even be the same AI, just with tools they sometimes know how to use.

Dynamax Adventures don't have shields on the opposing Pokemon, so status goes a lot further in adventures. The NPCs also pick from the same pool of Pokemon you pick from, so they have much better Pokemon in general. Beating the final legendary can be tough, but I almost always get there solo.

Still say they should have let you use your league cards, both NPC's and friends', to summon them for AI help instead of having the pathetic list of randos. At least they should've given all AI partners Focus Sashes and not just the baby Pokemon. That's part of why Magikarp is such a good partner.

It doesn't matter if it's super-effective or not - max moves take two bars from the shields, while regular moves take one.

To anyone interested:
If you transfer a Pokemon from Pokemon Go to Pokemon Home you get a free GMax Melmetal as a mystery gift in Home.
You have to be level 33 or higher in Go to be able to transfer though.

Also of note, you get a box that spawns Meltan for an hour after transferring your first Pokemon. Obviously, they aren't as rare as some other mythicals, but it could be worthwhile to do from a trading perspective.

I was wondering how'd I'd get a Meltan for completionists sake.

Decided to pick up Colosseum again recently due to a combination of watching a Smeargle challenge of it and deciding to start an autistic quest to legitimately get as many ribbons on a single Pokemon as possible. You have to start with a Shadow Pokemon in Colosseum or XD because they get a special ribbon on purification, plus I want the Mt Battle 100 ribbon to flex with in SwSh.

As a kid I lamented how slow it was to purify Pokemon. I'm not even half done with Pyrite town and Crocanaw's meter is empty and Quagsire lost a quarter of his in one battle. I'm thinking I was a dumb kid.

During my recent replay of XD I thought the same but I guess perception of time changes when you get older

Two questions:

1. Anyone hopeful of a gen 4 remake?
2. Anyone hopeful that it won't be hot garbage?

Gen 4 is the only thing keeping me interested in pokemon at this point.
