So Chugga reached that one turning point in the story in his PMD DX let's play now and I agree with the people in the comments that the plot development is both interesting but dumb at the same time.
It's interesting to have it be a plot point that you become a fugitive having to survive being hunted down by your former friends to clear your name, but at the same time it's moronic how all these villagers believe Gengar at face value. He should logically be notorious for being a manipulative asshole, considering he named his rescue team "Team meanies" of all things and threatened a child. Even the trio with the most prestige in town went along with it instead of trying to defuse the situation.
That's why I prefer Sky's major turning point cause it felt more natural.

That was the same plot in the original. Although, I do agree. While the aspect of having the entire village turn on you was interesting, how it happened was kinda dumb.

Yeah I played the original myself so I know it's the same, though with some of the impact missing cause they didn't animate some parts that the original did have. I just didn't think to bring it up until he reached that part in his LP and then I noticed the people in the comments felt the same way as I did.

Can anyone explain to me what it is about people praising Unova and Gen V that causes the fandom to chimp out? Sinnoh and Hoenn fans circlejerk just as hard over their generations and complained about them being unfairly hated on by genwunners but nobody batted an eye over it.

I haven't seen that shit in years to be honest, the only thing I found was some eceleb, the only thing I can think of is the new designs tick some people off (understandable as pokemon design taste can very between people) and gen V starting the linearity trend (tho I think V did it better then later gens while also opening up massively during post game)

I meant the recent praise the games are getting. There are some Unova fans who are a little too over indulged in playing the “underrated gem” card and now people are mocking and making fun of every Unova fan for showing even the slightest positivity towards the games. Yet the “underrated gem” mentality has always been a thing. I saw someone on Twitter bitching about “BW Zoomers” as if other generations never acted like this.

I remember some hate at the time was because you could only get old gen pokemon in the post-league rather than early on, despite that I actually enjoyed that feature since unlike SwShit you still get to have all your old mon but now you had an incentive to use the new ones. Although admittedly some of the hate after that seemed due to the fact that Gen V was nothing but new mons that offered no new evos or pre-evos for older pokemon, like a lot of people thinking the big heart-shaped fish in Gen V would be an evolution to Luvdisc.

Twitter is a hellscape where no one is allowed to be themselves, only be passive aggressively snarky with no nuance in the character limit, I have had more productive conversation on chans then that hellhole. now being serious for a moment the more complex reason is probably due to generation warring which is kinda dumb in and of itself along with the reason friendliness is talking about. people are mad that others prefer someone else's old shit to anothers old shit

fun fact: Primal Kyogre is about the size of a normal IRL orca.

Which means normal Kyogre is like a midget orca.
Pokemon sizes at their absolute biggest (not counting the Dyna/Gigatamax bullshit, and according to lore those are more like holograms or some shit anyway) are hilariously small. Even the new record-breaking Eternatus in its base form is beaten in length by most baleen whales, and no species comes even close to matching in weight either. Celesteela and Cosmoem, the two heaviest mons in the series, come in at a fraction of the average baleen whale (both are just barely over a ton, while a grey whale for example can weigh up to 36 tons).

Weirdly the opposite happens the farther down the "biological totem pole" you go. Bug types in particular stand out for this, like Centiskorch's staggering height at 9'10", beating even the largest real life equivalent in the famous Arthropleura.

Don't forget Beedrill, which is still over a foot. Pokemon bug infestations must be carried out by napalm or air strike.

This bothers me more than it should.

Yeah. Wasn't the greatest thing in the world (clunky to navigate with the fuckload of commands and the battle system was an extremely rudimentary mess) but it was still a fun little Discord bot game. Even had a couple shinies.
Oh yeah, I tried that out myself actually. Didn't invest that much that time into it though.
