Actually raising and breeding regular pokemon and working with their movesets is more fun (for me, at least.) than using something prepackaged OP. It used to be special when you were a kid but it's just boring now.

and in tournies ofc its more fun to watch
Little me named my palkia Raper (meant rapper...) taught him surf, rock smash, and strength. He was special... but surf rekt and I needed an HM slave. So yeah legendaries were fun as a kid lol.

Agreed. I honestly wouldn't mind it that much if they were limited to 1 Legendary/Mythical. The competive scene has way too many people having legendaries make up almost the entirety of their team.

Didn't actually notice this until someone mentioned it the other day, but I find it quite funny that after the national dex debacle was revealed, all the reee'ing for Sinnoh remakes came to a screeching halt.

You know what I really wish what would happen?

I really wish they made it so that moves that pokemon could learn via breeding would be better.

I mean, c'mon! Why can't Incineroar learn Sucker Punch!? That move would've been PERFECT for a Heel! Might as well use those monstrous hands too!

Back to the competitive scene... Anyone remember when that Pachirisu was actually used to win one of the world leagues?

KnowledgeHub made a video on the subject. Concludes that this is about the merchandise.

Actually, little bit of autism here, but someone called his video garbage, said he used adblocker on his video. And Knowledgehub lost his shit on the guy for three hours. Even Flexing on the guy on twitter.

Sounds like your typical poketuber autist to me. So what if they use an adblocker, he just one of the many people that watch his videos. It really shouldn't bother him like that.

I just wanna see evos for old was Pokemon. Not eevee, not a baby form, not a regional variant (Okay maybe that but it's not happening with One cool idea never mentioned after one gen GF) but an Evolution that would make it worth getting that old forgotten Pokemon from gen 1-4 some new spice.

Then I can forget about it again when next gen releases.

We might get a farfetch'd evolution this gen, so you might get your wish.

Beta Sprites of Ivysaur, Clefairy, even Mr. Mime came out last month.

In better news....

Haven't played a pokemon game past the gold and silver versions. Every few years I'll download an emulator and play red or gold version on my phone to nostalgically pass the time for a while.

Am I missing all that much with the newer games?

Eta: word

I wonder which generation gets the least amount of hate. Even the beloved Kanto has been getting a shitload of backlash for over saturating the series with nostalgia pandering for the past few years. Both RBY and GSC were getting as heavily criticized as the newer games once the kids that started them grew up, discovered the internet, and took off their nostalgia goggles.

It's most likely gen 4 or 5 and maybe 6 (mainly because of ORAS). As far as I'm aware, those entries are more loved than hated from the fan base, but who knows? That might change in the far future.

It definitely ain't 6. X/Y is infamous for being ground zero of the Kanto pandering we're still stuck with today, and the region never got a proper third version game so it's stuck with no post-game plus a lot of unfinished loose ends (the other power plant entrances, Floette-Eternal, ect.). Not even ORAS saved the generation due to the Battle Frontier fiasco and other nitpicks here and there.

As for least hated gen, I'd honestly put my money on 4. Platinum fixed Diamond/Pearl's speed issues and was overall far superior in quality, and it was home to the best of the remakes by far. The only major complaints most will bring up is the flood of HMs the gen is plagued with and lack of infinite TMs, that's about it.

Honestly, what I'd like to see from the next generation, at least in terms that a fan would want:

-) New evolutions for older pokemon. Heck, since they've taken mega evolutions away, give some proper evolutions to the pokemon like Houndoom or Heracross. The one thing that I hated about Mega Evolution, was that if a pokemon got it, it gave it a death sentence on getting another evolution stage.
-) Regional Variants: This would more than likely be for like the Sinnoh games, but I'd love to see some Gen 2 pokemon get regional variants. I actually liked the concept of Alolan forms, but they botched it up in execution.

Not really. Most of the changes everyone praises are either post game content that's only good as a time waster (Battle Frontier, contests, poffin making, secret bases) or fairly unimportant if you don't care for competitive battling (Natures, EV's/IV's). The only genuine quality of life changes for the average player would be abilities (Gen 3) and the physical special split (Gen 4).

So the only reason to pick them up anymore is competitive battling, but even then, I feel the competitive scene became garbage in Gen 7 due to a lot of changes I find pretty stupid.

What are some of the competitive changes that you find to be stupid? The only change that found to be odd was that they made darkrai's signature move "dark void" be 50% accurate. Granted with Dark void I understand that they were trying to balance it, seeing as it was a sleep inducing status move that was 100% accurate, but was giving it the same accuracy as hypnosis really necessary? Why not have it's accuracy be in the 70-80 percent range?

I mean, you're ignoring the other factors in the Gen 5 games - Not only streamlining the use of things like TMs being reusable, but as well as adding different kinds of battling, like Triple and Rotation battling, and even then, there was a lot to do in the main storylines of those games as well the post game content.
