If everyone would fucking remember the number one rule when it comes to telling if a Pokemon is real, we'd stop having all these 99% wrong leaks so much.

If the Pokemon illustrations in question lack that distinctive Ken Sugimori style, then its not real.

Another example, if its supposed to be a Dragonball character, but lacks the stupid way Toriyama draws eyes, then its not real.

That is pretty much the 2nd set of fake starters these last two weeks, in both cases they try to emulate the(very real) leaks of the final evolutions of the Alola starters.

Before those particular real leaks, people would usually try to make fake corocoro magazine scans for new pokemon(often with mangled/copy-pasted Japanese). It probably is less work for them now, since they had make filters and other stuff to make it look like camera shots of glossy magazine pages.

For those unaware, corocoro magazine is a children's magazine that would often(and still does but not to the same extent it used to) get exclusive information on upcoming Pokemon games, often revealing things like new Pokemon sometimes months before any other source was allowed to, both Japanese and international.

I think people believe we will be getting a switch pokemon game this year lol

They might just do a third in this series, just out of fear of how a Pokemon Switch main game will have to stack up to beasts like Breath of the Wild and Odyssey.

Pokemon has NEVER been a franchise known for taking risks.

Sure they said the next gen will be on Switch, but I have a feeling for now they are sticking to the not-dead-yet 3DS and make another follow-up.

USUM did NOT earn Gamefreak my money, surprisingly, so they might as well try again.

Heads up to American players. Right now, until April 29, Target stores are carrying serial code cards for both Entei (Sun and Ultra Sun) and Raikou (Moon and Ultra Moon). They differ between games, with Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon's being Level 100 with a Gold Bottle Cap and Sun & Moon's being Level 60. After that, from May 4th through May 27th, if you go to a Gamestop you'll be able to get Yveltal (Sun and Ultra Sun) or Xerneas (Moon and Ultra Moon).

On that note, can I just say how much it pisses me off that Nintendo keeps making us go to stores to get Pokemon? For the longest time they just released event Pokemon over the Nintendo Network and you could get them as long as you had WiFi. In Europe, they still do it that way most of the time. But for some reason Americans have to visit stores if we want to get Pokemon.

My response is to not go to stores to get Pokemon. (It certainly has nothing to do with being a NEET.)

They’ve been confirmed fake.
I dunno they said that about Sun and Moon but they were legit. Except they confused the z-moves with you doing like a pokemon fusion form.

I like the platypus but I kind of got tired of Pokemon since Gen 4, with the exception of Y which I just tried to see if it had changed, but I was sick of the insane amount of hand holding and "power of friendship" stuff it was. I pirated Sun off of freeshop but I didnt even get past the fucking trainer school, and the hours of dialogue explaining super basic things, with no option to skip it.

I watched part of a playthrough of it and there was just SO MUCH DIALOGUE, and half of it was unnecessary. Ultra Sun/Moon was also unnecessary. I went to Frys the other day looking for a game and they had a literal shelf full of copies of sun and moon, and untouched stacks of Ultra Sun/moon.

I kind of really wish they would change it up. In fact, I would almost welcome a sort of split if they do go off onto home console games versus the handheld--and they kind tried this when they made the Gamecube games--where they switch up the games and style on the home console releases, but then keep the more kid-friendly, normal releases on 3DS or something. But I guess since Switch is a handheld, they wont do that.

Also I would love to be able to battle online, but get experience for it. As it stands now, some of the game is a grind because you run out of trainers, so you cant find a new rare pokemon late game and start trying it out without having to grind it up.

Except it and the other two starter trios that were "leaked" were all quickly disproved thanks to reverse image searching to find all of them On Deviantart, often posted months before the supposed "leak" happened.

The only info we have on the next games is the console they're on. S/M were thoroughly leaked because a guy working on the official Chinese translation of the script leaked stuff, and he said he isn't working on the switch games. As such we would need another person willing to risk ever working with Nintendo again for 5-seconds of anonymous fame.

You do realize how complete broken getting EXP from online battles would be? Not a "overpowered" type of broken, but just being badly thought out overall if implemented wholesale onto the current online battling system, It would need some major tweaking to the whole thing to not be a clusterfuck. (I would go into more detail but I'm already typing more than what is needed to respond to this comment)

Also unless you want to do Hyper Training on a Pokemon, there is no reason to level up a Pokemon in gen VII outside of getting to the final evolution. Full EV spreads are obtainable without leveling much, the move reminder now can teach your Pokemon moves they learn AFTER their current level on top of the ones from before as they did previously, and you can set it so you and your opponent's Pokemon are made level 50 for the duration of the fight, regardless if they were higher or lower leveled than that.

Surprisingly nobody has been talking about Pokemon: Lets go Pikachu and Lets go Eevee, which are seeming to be what's going to be the Pokemon Switch games.

Nothing has officially been announced, but strangely at the same time, Gamefreak has been dropping nice odd bits of trivia such as Pikachu once having a third evolution beyond Raichu named "Gorochu" with Goro being another term the language uses for lightning.

I get a funny feeling our little yellow mascot is about to get a canon new evolution.

Guess what? When this game comes out, its gonna be on the 20th anniversary of Pokemon Yellow. Rumors are this will be a remake of Pokemon Yellow. Guess what else? Who are the starters in Pokemon Yellow for you and your Rival respectively? Pikachu and Eevee.

It all adds up. And the idea of getting a mainstream Switch game I can play on my huge widescreen Tv is very enticing. Like, it'll be Kanto. And you will be going around with your Pikachu or Eevee Starter following you. It'll be like the anime with Wild Pokemon already visible and you know...

And hopefully there will be all those filler cities like Hop-Hop-Hop Town and Gringy City. It would be a dream come fucking true to play a video game version of that moment where Ash captured that Muk.

And one last thing, its gonna be compatible with Pokemon Go. But I give little shit to that dumb fad that people shouldn't be playing.

I've got nothing against Yellow specifically, but I'd honestly prefer a new game or a gen 4 remake to a yellow one.

Partially because i'm really Kanto/Johto'd out at the moment.

I'll see what things actually get announced.

The leaks were true and confirmed what we all knew, but hey at least there's a thread to shipost and discuss in.

Confirmed for Switch 11/16/18. Full $60 price game, $45.83 Pokeball add-on item. Pokemon Go Capture system and integration. Remake of Gen 1. More information such as how this is a stand alone experience from the core entry; not being able to battle in game; Go integration; next gen; etc can all be found here.

Text Version:

After the announcement of Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee! at the Pokemon press conference in Japan, a Q&A was held with the developers and other representatives. Here’s a summary of what was shared:

– Wild Pokemon battles do not exist in the Let’s Go games
– But you can battle other trainers
– On choosing Eevee: one reason was that your rival in Yellow used Eevee; character has become massively popular over the years as well, and they’ve decided to start using him as a partner to Pikachu
– There was a “special Pokemon” mentioned in the trailer Go players would meet if they linked it with Let’s Go; it’s an all-new Pokemon we’ve never seen before
– You will still be able to trade and battle, but you’ll have to have multiple Switches for that; you can have multiple accounts on the same console, however
– No plans for the games to use online service
– The Pokemon Company views Switch as a combo home/handheld, so they wanted to take the good parts of the handheld versions and expand on them with the Switch
– The Let’s Go games are designed primarily as home console games, while the 2019 games will have more of an emphasis on the handheld experience
– They didn’t elaborate on what this might mean
– They have other gameplay ideas they haven’t announced regarding how Go and Let’s Go will interface
– Those who play both will be rewarded
– They see the Let’s Go games as the next step for players brought in by Pokemon Go to continue with the series, which is why the catching interface/models are the same
– The 2019 games, meanwhile, is what they see as their way to move the handheld experience forward, and they’ve been working on it since before the Switch released, which is why the won’t be as influenced by Go
– There are plans for the Poke Ball Plus beyond the Let’s Go games/Go
– They see the device as the next iteration of the Go Plus
– Nintendo engineers helped make the Poke Ball
– The idea was to create the closest thing possible to an actual Pokeball that really felt like it has a Pokemon inside
– What technology is used to connect Let’s Go game and Pokemon GO? Bluetooth

I like how critics of Nintendo and The Pokemon Co. are quick to say the franchise is stale and doesn't innovate, yet the moment they change and innovate you get people losing their shit criticizing them. It's like a dipshit paradox.

Well it's not the 1st time a spin off has been released on a console before a main series game, or even the second
As far as my thoughts on the announcement, eh, remaking yellow for the 1st foray on the switch isn't that bad as far as 1st console titles go
