Why would you describe exeggcute like this?
You've had two Gen 1 remakes.
Fuck off.

I forgot about them entirely, not gonna lie. Most of the Ride Pokémon (Tauros, Lapras, Machamp, Charizard) were from Gen 1.
So you can sneak Kanto in in the post game I take it? Fuck that - Kanto and Gen 1 in general needs to Fuck Off for at least a generation or two, but that sure as shit isn’t going to happen off the sheer autistic screeching that’ll happen on Social Media…Well then at least give me another gen 2 remake!
okay I'll agree to thatWell then at least give me another gen 2 remake!
2 gen 1 remakes, every single collaboration, 3 revisits with the TCG, and I can go on. The first generation are the most shilled Pokémon and any time they try deviating from that nostalgia tards get angry. But we aren't pandered to. Nintendo just keeps destroying Pokemon's legacy by giving us things nobody asked for. I don't think anyone was asking for the Let's Go games. Nobody likes the Pokemon GO inclusion and the Pikachu petting is lame. The game doesn't even include the extra islands from the GBA remakes.
They’ll complain about later gen design being lazy, but ignore the lazy designs in gen 1. They don’t want to accept that every gen has gems and duds, mainly because they’re usually not really fans.View attachment 7827400

You know what, I stand by my initial statement regarding Gen 1: when you already have a Moltres and a Zapdos, Talonflame and Kilowattrel are pretty much redundant.
Hmm....I think you only like Gen 2 because it has Kanto in it.Gen 1 and 2 are the best.
You're smart!Hmm....I think you only like Gen 2 because it has Kanto in it.
This is why pandering to genwunners isn't worth it. They will never like anything past gen 3 no matter how many Kanto callbacks there are, and everyone else will be annoyed by all the Kantoooooo getting shoved in their faces.Genwunners will complain about anything outside of the original 151 and will pretend they aren’t the most pandered to.
I like 6 best because of ORAS. If there weren't ORAS, I think I'd see 5 as best, and 4 if 5 didn't have BW2. And 4 is still best when it comes to the Mystery Dungeon series.Gen 1 and 2 are the best. 3 is okay, 4 is good. 5 is good as well.
Did Nintendo try to do mechanically unusual Pokemon besides the one with 1 hp or the one that could disguise itself as another Pokemon? It seems to mainly be stat creep and paragraph long abilities.>"Its brain cells multiply continually until it dies. As a result, it remembers everything."
>"Its brain can outperform a supercomputer. Its intelligence quotient is said to be 5,000."
>"Its superb memory lets it recall everything it has experienced from birth. Its IQ exceeds 5,000."
>can only know 4 moves at a time
OK then
(not the first to notice this BTW)
Gen6:Did Nintendo try to do mechanically unusual Pokemon besides the one with 1 hp or the one that could disguise itself as another Pokemon? It seems to mainly be stat creep and paragraph long abilities.
Most of those are due to abilities. Outside of abilities you've also got Smeargle being able to learn most moves, Alcremie's different flavors, Spinda's spots and Vivillon's and Furfrou's forms, but the last three are just cosmetic.Gen6:
Gen7:
- Aegislash with Stance Change.
- Hawlucha's Flying Press that deals TWO kinds of damage instead of one (i.e. it's BOTH Fighting and Flying even though it's listed as a fighting type move)
- Gourgeist's different sizes and how it affects its stats overall depending on the size.
Not sure about the last two gens.
- Wishiwashi with School Form
- Minor with Shields Down
- Komala with Comatose (can't sleep because it's ALWAYS asleep). Can't be affected by burn/paralyses/freeze either
Shuckle could turn a held berry into berry juice in gen 2.Did Nintendo try to do mechanically unusual Pokemon besides the one with 1 hp or the one that could disguise itself as another Pokemon? It seems to mainly be stat creep and paragraph long abilities.
The two gimmicks mentioned in that post are reliant on their abilities, too. Most of those are due to abilities.
Gen 2 would be better had Game Freak not made the new mons inferior to Gen 1, not to mention easier and earlier to find too. Even all the way back in Gen 2, Game Freak were not letting to completely give up Gen 1 because that's what people only seem to know due to America homogenization lol.(BTW, I was keeping up with pocketmons from Gen 1 to Gen 6. Way back in the days, I thought 2 was better than 1 when it was released.)
That's because Game Freak back then was still trying to keep the idea that the Pokemon species are still being discovered in-universe. If you go back and read really old material put out by Game Freak in Japan back in Gen 1, there's a whole backstory they wrote about the history of in-universe Pokemon zoology, and it pretty much treats Pokemon like cryptids who are separate from normal animals, and their separation from normal animals and the study of them only became formalized in the late 1800s with species getting slowly cataloged over the decades after, with Prof. Oak being a leading member in the field who contributed a lot to getting the total number of cataloged species up to 150 by the 1990s.Gen 2 would be better had Game Freak not made the new mons inferior to Gen 1, not to mention easier and earlier to find too. Even all the way back in Gen 2, Game Freak were not letting to completely give up Gen 1 because that's what people only seem to know due to America homogenization lol.
Only Kanto Pokémon got Regional Variants.Gen 7 - ok you might have me on this one, I honestly don’t remember much about Alola.
Add on Blackface Oak and Red and Blue appearing as the bosses of the Battle TreeOnly Kanto Pokémon got Regional Variants.
I'd like to add that the only non-Gen 9 pokemon that got Dynamax designs are Gen 1 mons. There are no Gen 2 to 7 Dynamax designs, with the exception of Garbordor which is Gen 5 (which I assume it was made because it's the ace of one of the late-game bosses)Gen 8 - Leon’s Fucking Charizard.
And then XY did the same thing with the Fairy type:This whole idea got sort of dropped and hidden away with Gen 3 because trying to keep the idea that each generations new set of 100-ish Pokemon are literally being discovered in-universe would start getting ridiculous
I thought that was a contrivance added by Legends Arceus to explain how apricorn Poke Balls worked. It's weird that most Pokemon can't learn Minimize when they all have the innate ability to shrink, especially when almost all of them could learn Toxic before SwSh.Though they do still reference some things brought up in that old material, like all Pokemon naturally having the ability to shrink to pocket-size when severely hurt which lead to the development of Pokeballs
