I like fat tiger. 🤗

I wish that it hadn't been axed. Then we get Litten and the final is a muscle daddy furfag bait.
To be fair, I played SuperGold97, a fully functioning romhack that lets you play the Spaceworld beta from start to finish, and as much as I like the tiger's design, it just doesn't have much going for it to differentiate itself from Pikachu and Ampharos line...all of which are found in the same patch of grass btw. I ended up going with Amphy, in fact it was one of my aces in that playthru.
A lot of these Spaceworld Pokemon were cut for a reason. Others, I like a lot and wish we could have them in mainline games. I think the Raichu evo would be more useful than a new electric Pokemon, it's simply not that useful at the end of the day.

Since we're talking about favorite music...
I'll stick to mainline games, since if we included Mystery Dungeon, this list would be very very long
Split up into battle themes and non-battle themes
Bit of a less mainstream taste on my end, I guess

DPPt - Mt. Coronet

DPPt - Eterna Forest

Platinum - Global Terminal

Platinum - Distortion World

Emerald - Battle Pike

Emerald - Battle Arena

Emerald - Battle Factory

BW - Dreamyard

BW - Driftveil Drawbridge

BW - Route 10

BW2 - Colress battle theme

USUM - Fused Necrozma battle theme (not Ultra Necrozma)

USUM - Ghetsis battle theme

USUM - Lsyandre battle theme

What's the best theme in a Pokémon game? The theme playing when capturing Giratina in the Distortion World is pretty memorable, or Deoxys' theme.
It's a toss up between the Frontier Brain Battle Theme from RSE or Team Plasma's Castle for me.

As far as games go, Black and White have the best overall soundtracks. X and Y have the worst IMHO. I don't know why, but I hate techno music as it is and X&Y is all muffled heavy fuzzy techno bass garbage.

FRLG in general has some real nice renditions of the gen 1 music
I disagree. The best remake of Red and Blue's music actually goes to Let's Go's OST. They even faithfully recreated the synth.

The whole line is so weird. It looks like a sloth interbred with an ape.

Slakoth: Lazy and sleeps all day

Vigoroth: Literally can't stop moving because of extreme levels of stress.

Slaking: Fat lazy fuck.

Maybe it's supposed to represent life stages. A sleepy baby, a hyperactive teen that likes to break stuff and finally, a fat and lazy adult. It can tell all the young slakoths about its glory days as a quarterback as it stuffs its face with food.

Kind of like how Sobble can be seen as a crybaby, Drizile an edgy teen with an emo haircut and Inteleon is a know it all college graduate. I can see it going "Well ackshully..." at everything if it could talk like a human. I know it's supposed to be some steath assassin 007 type. But it looks so smug. Everyone would avoid Inteleon at parties because Inteleon never shuts up and has to one up everyone's knowledge on everything.

I often forget about slakoth because slaking is so bad and the design never caught me in a way of "that's fucking cool". It's just a big fat tough King Kong/donkey kong ripoff but ugly and lazy instead.
Also i'm not a big fan of gen 3.

If you see it that way, slakoth is not only the circle of life, but a brutal black pill.
you're always gettin fucked by your genes.

Slakoth.
You are a nice little lazy fat kid. However, everything is fine. You're maybe depressed, you might get bullied and waste all of your time by slacking off. No worries, you still have all the time in the world. Time to watch another sitcom, the crisps ain't gonna eat themselves.

Vigoroth.
Outclassed by your peers in every way possible, missed opportunitys everywhere, you explode and lash out against the world.
You go outside. Amphetamine maxxing. angrily trynna cope with your missed childhood experiences.
Having three jobs, you're rushing from gym to hooker to the next rave, partying till four in the moring only to be back at the office at eight. Tweeting racial slurs and writing shizo rants in the gaming area of an online platform about lolcows inbetween.
You are feeling nothing but rage and emptiness all the time.

Slaking is the final form, after having success or maybe not, your true self catches up to you.
Whether it's in a Trailer Park or a penthouse in LA, you look at the remainings of your life, who you are and what you accomplished. It makes your memories gloomy, thinking about what your son might do right now.
You feel the desparate urge to tell him to never ever slack off and that he should go touch grass. But mommy and the cops won't let you see him. "Stupid Karen, she was such a cute HR manager when I first met her", you mumble to yourself.
You're drowning your sorrows, probably popping antidepressants, too, while Alexa decides to play your favorite childhood Sitcom for you. You fall asleep, crying.

It's over, slothbros. Stop coping, just LDAR.
Can't trick your genes.
Rather be Intelleon and write mean "well, ackshually" stuff on r/slothtears.

Gen 3 had the issue of designs suddenly becoming clean and corporate while still lacking the technical expertise to make the games. A lot of why Gen 3 runs so much better than Gen 2 was the jump in convenience (assembly to C, higher assumptions on hardware constraints) rather than any improvement within GF.

I heard somewhere that the slakoth line was a joke about a lazy person trying to be active but then giving up, but I don't remember where I heard that so that might be fake and gay.
Maybe someone just though the gimmick of a pokemon with huge stats that can only attack every other turn would be interesting, gen 3 did introduced a lot of gimmick pokemon. Vigoroth is really weird though, I'm not sure why they made the middle stage drop line's the bit.

Wrong, this was gen 2. Gen 3 is where they attempt to go back to gen 1 and create more monster designs rather than the baby designs of gen 2.

Gen 2 still had that scuffed indy feeling. If anything, it's more of the same from Gen 1, though without as much of the "filling a cube" design philosophy. It ran a good range from baby designs to cool monsters, even if the pokemon where underwhelming under the hood.

Gen 3 initially was made to be a reboot just like BW was, to made all types of pokémon, but tjey didn't meet the quota and had to bring the old ones.

But even then, what cool pokemon in gen 2? Lets see: feraligatr, typhlosion, ariados, crobat, ampharos, steelix, scizor, heracross, ursaring, kingdra, gligar, donphan, skarmory, houndoom, sneasel, tyranitar, dogs.

Most of them are third evolutions or even late game. Whenever I played gen 2 my team basically was initial + ampharos + red gyarados since most of it is just reruns or the lamest gen 2 animals.

Edit: I was going to write the cool pokémon lines in gen 3 but I realized it was easier to write the lame ones instead: beautifly, ludicolo, nosepass, skitty, plusle minun, volbeat ilumise, spinda, castform, chimecho, wynaut, luvdisc.

Most of them are really cool, even somewhat cute ones turn into cool ones when evolve like snorunt into glalie or shromish into breelom.

Also more gen 3 edits by /vp/anon, I think this is a great example of how much cooler they aee in the end than in the beta

That’s 1/5 of the total introduced Pokémon, and Lugia and Ho-oh are both cool as well I also personally like Meganium and Girafarig). Of all these, only 7 are second-stage, and only Houndoom and Tyranitar are after the Elite 4.
Contrast Gen 1, with: Venusaur, Charizard, Blastoise, Beedrill, the Nidos, Machamp, Tentacruel, maybe Golem, maybe Onix, Rhydon, Kangaskahn, Scyther, maybe Electabuzz, maybe Magmar, maybe Taurus, Aerodactyl, the birds, Dragonite, Mewtwo. Making a smaller ratio to the rest introduced in Gen 1, with more being second-stage.

But they can’t nor should they be entirely cool designs, having a range from cute to cool serves to extend the appeal to the nine-year-olds the games were intended for.

I think that Aggron looks worse than before. Looks a little plain without its horns and armor plating. All the others are better: Ludicolo, the Milotic-like, and Meditite line look way cooler.

Gale of Darkness has the best music. Fight me.

I like route 29 a lot, especially the DS version, very very cozy theme. I hum it during walks and stuff. Close second would be the Pokemon center theme from Heartgold/SoulSilver. I love the osts in both of those, I grew up with them, what can I say.

I used Slaking in my NeXt Gen run recently, and it's a beast in doubles, especially if you can switch abilities with it so it can attack every turn.
Singles? Yeah, it's garbage, and I assume that's where most people play. Still, don't sleep on it.

There is barely any new Gen 2 Pokemon because they cut out most of them, lmao
