2024 on the farms: Musk buys Pokeyman
 
Here are my observations on the BW3 source maps:
  • In the Desert Resort, there is a Youngster who wants to be a 'bad' dude, complete with shiny forehead, because of his brother, who is a SkinheadCue BallRoughneck. While the Roughneck is proud of hi shiny forehead, he wishes that his brother would grow up to being a respectable person.
  • A Nursery Aide wonders in the Marine Tube if you are an adult-looking precocious child or a childish adult but thinks that both are 'cute' in their own way.
  • A Female Swimmer in Route 21 says: 'I'm a girl with everything... Wel, everything but a place to put my PokéBalls!'
  • There is a subtle reference to the 'NINTENDO 64!!!!!!' meme.
  • Bianca's last name is Bel, her Nipponese name.
  • There are actually quite a few untouched leftovers from the original Pokémon Crystal, including the old labs, the old Fan Club, the second Center floor, Lance's Room, the National Park and the old Game Corners. Weirdly, the two new Corners have the same scripts the old ones have but with some changed names.
  • Th exact same MooMoo Miltank quest is there, excep that you need to feed a Flaaffy called 'Woolie' Oran d Sitrus Berries.
  • The same applies to the Goldenrod Station.
  • The game uses BOLD INFLATION. This leads t odd situations, including calling 'Scales' 'SCALEs'.
  • A few words are misspelled.
Frankly, the BROWN girl, the non-binary character choice, and the lesbians ar essentially all of the woke stuff in the hack.
I spent over one and a half hours decapitalising everything in the maps and fixing the spelling errors and inconsistencies, though I may have accidentally decapitalised some constants in the process.

I recently captured a fair amount of Shiny Pokémon over the past two days in Scarlet:
  • A Hoothoot each day for two with a total Shiny count for the species going up to four
  • A Shiny Gurdurr, I had to do a double-take on this one due to the lighting at night making it difficult to tell apart from a regular Gurdurr. Thankfully the orange-red nose is a bit of a giveaway.
  • A Slugma, bringing the total Shiny count for that species up to two
  • Two Shiny Mimikyu via the combined chances of the special Mass Outbreaks released around Halloween and Sparkling Power 3: Ghost sandwich, with one of ‘em having the Calmness Mark
  • Two Duskull, both were obtained in the 30-minute window opened by the Sparkling Power 3: Ghost sandwich
Oh, and we’re getting another Eevee event this weekend. Normal Tera-Type Eevee’s popping up in 7-star raids and special Mass Outbreaks featuring Eevees with a higher chance of finding certain Marks (a Jittery, Intense, Intellectual, or Flustered Mark for Mass Outbreak Eevees are found in Paldea while Mass Outbreak Eevees found in Kitakami will come with a Rowdy, Excited, Calmness, or Unsure Mark). I don’t see a reason to ditch my Halloween Mass Outbreaks for these little furfuckers at all, I’ll just wait to see if they’ll do a better event around Christmas/New Year’s.

Not gonna lie, it mildly amuses me how, despite the coomer bait characters/Pokémon, the community apparently decided that fucking Larry was the best character in the game. Not any of the Main Cast of characters, not the V-Tuber that apparently made a lot of actual vtubers annoyed, but fucking Larry the Overworked Salary Worker.

I get it, but it's amusing.

In some fairness, the annoyance seems more directed at their respective chats for cheering for Iono. Sill funny how that gets literally every one of them to mald.

It's funnier because it's mostly for "LOL he's just like me!" reasons despite a majority of the people saying that never having worked a soul-draining office job in their lives.
 
More comments on BW3:
  • Surprisingly, they kep the genders of all of the trainers. Thay may be cause the genders are a hardcoded part of the game that has rather integral functions.
  • Another surprising part is tha there still are Police trainers, despite 'Assigned Cop at Birth' being the woke mantra. The policemen are also fairly respectable; the worst one does is challenge the trainer to a Pokémon battle because of 'a dangerous smell'.
  • The common.asm files, which hold commonly-used strings, also have plenty of origina leftovers.
  • There are a lot of leftovers from the Radio Towers.
  • Some leftovers from Professor Elm remain.
  • The pokemon folder in the data folder has two dex_order_new files. The copy has an older order before new Pokémon are added.
  • The Bicycle text has been recycled.
  • Eevee volves into Glaceon wi the Ice Stone and Leafeon wi the Leaf Stone. However, Eevee retains the original evolution methods into Espeon and Umbreon. Instead, Eevee volves into Sylveon if its LV increased uring the day while holding the Magic Ribbon.
  • The Oran d Sitrus Berries are lumped together away from the other berries in the Index Table, possibly because of how they are dependent in the MooMoo quest.

I don't know how anybody can stand those voices, the one in the middle having a complete tantrum was the worst

I find that, depending on the vtuber, that they're fine in small doses and clips. Most of them are insufferable, yes, but I can get why people dedicate time to their anime e-girls.

They suffer from the same problem every streamer does - the incessant need to act like a fucktard to amuse chat - but that's about where I'm willing to drop the topic. I just go back to those vids to laugh at the malding every once in a while, I may have a playlist of Seethe...

I guess when you got an internet celebrity, an avant garde artist, a rapping grandma, a super model and so on as gym leaders the one unremarkable guy stands out, oh and guess being relatable helps too.
By the way how did Iono (the streaming girl) make actual vtubers annoyed? I only ever heard people bitching that gamefreak was pandering to the vtuber crowd

Anyways as for npcs my favourites are Larry, Clive, Arven and the Nurse. The first two I found amusing, the other two compelling. Pokemon games are by no means writing masterpieces but I feel that this time around they were able to come up with npcs that did not feel like cardboard cutouts.

Poor guy is juggling like 3 different jobs between being a salaryman, gym leader and E4.

Character wise Paldea has a few duds like any other Pokemon game but Larry, Rika and Arven were great. The principal was surprisingly likable too but suffers a bit from being tied to the Team Star plot.

His storyline was the best both in terms of writing and having the least obnoxious key jingling gimmicks. Too bad it's the shortest, probably to avoid having him hog the spotlight since he's the professor's kid and that's who the finale revolves around.
