Off topic, so feel free to ignore, but I've been trying to get some shiny's, and holy shit, how to autists have the patience for this? Matsudo Method and Shiny charm, and I've been at this shit for a week with no luck.
I find it fun to shiny hunt in Arceus. Something about flying around and waiting to hear that little "bling!" is exciting and keeps me playing it. Plus I'm stupid and just like the game in general.

With that being said, after replaying the games multiple times, I've recently been enjoying editing/hacking the 3DS games to make certain Pokemon shiny. It's a lot easier than wasting hours of my life trying to breed or find a specific one, and 99% of the time they can be transferred over to the Switch games (and Pokemon Home). I've yet to come across an issue with this other than certain moves being deleted. I do go out of my way to find certain Pokemon (like legendaries) legitimately before making a copy of them to be shiny, though. I also don't do it for every single Pokemon, just ones I particularly like.

You're free to call me a cheater, but after playing a game multiple times for years, sometimes it's just liberating to hack them and get whatever. I do prefer staying in boundaries (only giving them legit moves they can learn), but hamming it up makes it more fun sometimes.

Kudos to those who do have the patience for legit SH, though.

We got a new trailer, much like the previous mainline games I can't say I'm a fan of the artistic direction they're going in. *sigh*

Pretty sure I heard a bit of the SS Gym Leader theme in the trailer, which makes me happy. Looking forward to the game over all. Just like Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon was the culmination of what they iterated in XY, it feels like SS was an experiment to end up making SV better.

I think I hit a personal high score with this game, albeit I can't exactly tout it as "official" since it's on ROM, but meh. It's real to me.

Now to get Groudon and then I can just dick around with it until I fill the 'Dex. I'll check out the original Pinball afterwards.

I’m surprisingly okay with it. Team Star looks miles better than Team Yell and it looks like there will be different groups within the team that specialize in different types, The Path of Legends looks like it’ll be similar to the Totem/Noble Pokémon battles found in SM/USUM and PLA along with the usual item fetch quest, and while Victory Road looks fairly standard I’m pleased to hear that you can do the Gyms in any order.

As far as the character designs are concerned I can see some of ‘em, especially Geeta, turning some people away. I kind of find it ironic since character designer for SV also worked on PLA (mostly for Adaman and Irida) and also worked on World’s End Club as a character designer.

My only complaint is the “Let’s Go“ feature, I really don’t like the idea of auto-battles but thankfully it’s completely optional.

There’s a bit of Kingdom Hearts in there too, someone on Twitter pointed out that Ceruledge bears a resemblance to a species of Heartless that popped up in both 358/2 Days and Union Cross.

I personally wouldn’t consider you a cheater, I can understand how painful some forms of Shiny hunting can be and I do let some hacks slide. Heck, I use 6 IV Dittos and some distributed Pokémon in some of my Masuda Method Shiny hunts.

But that said I’m not a fan of people going half-assed when it comes to making tournament-ready Pokémon for competitors, it’s why I’m fine with Kaphotics going “scorched earth” on VGC players despite developing PKHeX. But then again that laziness only happens when you don’t have a tool like Pokécheck to scan your Pokémon to check for any bad data.

I chuckled at the "Trueleewoodo" line from the gym leader.

As for the new pokemon, I love Armarouge and Cerulegde designs and their signature moves.

Klawf is pretty derpy, but it's cute. It's ability could be interesting if it has good speed.

I legitimately thought while watching "a grass type gym leader with a rock type? Well that's a little wie-" before the pun and the Terra mechanic smacked me in my funny bone.

I’m glad Alphas are carrying over from Arceus. At least that’s what I’m assuming the Titans are.
Titans are technically in the same ballpark as SM's/USUM's Totem Pokémon and PLA's Noble Pokémon, they're your bog-standard monster bosses that make a fetch quest interesting.

But even with that in mind there's one saving grace that'll keep Alphas as big as they were in PLA: a Pokemon's size data is preserved in Home when its transferred and we've seen from the most recent trailers that Pokémon of the same species can have different heights.

I actually don't do tournaments--I'm not competitive and don't really care enough to do anything like that. I just make them for fun or for use in the games they're in, and then make sure they're as legal as possible when transferring. Some Pokemon keep turning up with the "you cannot use this Pokemon" in SwSh, which baffles me (they're not even the edited ones, so how), but they work for the most part and I'm not too upset or perturbed.

Cheating/hacking games should be used for fun and discovering new things or just to fuck with the game in general, not used against other players in tourneys and competitions, official or not. It's just a shitty thing to do.

Edited to add; Ceruledge looks super cool and I hope it doesn't suck.

So I looked back in the thread and saw this hasn't been posted:

Take this with a large grain of salt- there's a site made by leakers claiming to have info on the full dex for Scarlet and Violet. So far the stuff listed has been pretty accurate, for example it had listed a new single stage crab pokemon and two seperate fire types that share a pre-evolution, which match Klawf and Armarouge & Cerulegde. Again, this was stated bbefore their official reveal.

Heads up the images posted are artists' interpretations of the pokemon as described by leakers, the only ones to have actual art are the ones to have been officially revealed:

Assuming this is true (and it's been pretty accurate so far), there are:

109 POKÉMON
-80 new Pokémon + 4 RFakes
-5 Cross-Gen Evolution
-14 Paradox Forms (7 Ancient and 7 Future) + 2 DLC(?)
-4 Regional Forms

Agreed me too @Wooper really solid designs, a cool concept of ancient and future pokemon aka paradox pokemon which harkens back to the games roots of evolution. Since the swsh DLC the company looks to be improving and though Arceus was too far along for cosmetic brush ups. It still shown HF and Nintendo that the Pokemon community wants change and is more than ready.

I love the choice of journey and it being divided into it's own story. So far really happy and it's the game I am actually looking forward to this year.

After the disappointment of Sword and Shield, I am no longer worried about spoilers...
...excluding Pokémon Legends Arceus. I avoided spoilers of that game.

According to the Centro Leaks I follow on Twitter, the 4 regional forms are Wooper, no Quagsire, and 3 different Tauros. Good to see the king of Gen 1 OU getting some love and having multiple regional forms of the same Pokemon is interesting.
