2- I cant wait for this to be another amazingly mediocre entry in this series that has been on a mediocre streak Sword and Shield (or even since Gen 6 to some)
I wouldn't say that, exactly. We got the SwSh DLC's which are generally agreed upon to be decent, or at the very least more enjoyable than the base game. Then we got New Snap, Legends etc. If anything things are trending upwards for the franchise for the first time in a fairly long while.

Alright, so since a few people are asking, here are the spare shinies I have available. All I’m really looking for is an alpha shiny Petil and Teddiursa line, so unless you’re feeling really generous, don’t worry about offering anything.

I still refuse to believe horse dialga and palkia are anything more than a shitpost meme.
Yes.

Origin Dialga is an alright alternative form after I've had time adjusting to him, but Palkia's still isn't doing it for me.
Maybe if they had kept Palkia's arms it might've looked more "complete". Like a centaur or something.

I’m going to be honest this whole discourse with Sprigatito’s eye is so annoying. It’s not am excuse but at the same time it’s such a non issue. It’s a slightly wonky placed eye that most people wouldn’t even notice until someone points it out. I hate to sound like a shill but there are far worse things to worry about with SV than a slight error in official art work.

I watched this video the other day busting the whole myth that Satoshi Tajiri was autistic. Basically, it started for the same reason the whole thing about "Einstein failed math in school" that teachers tell you about started, to make the dumb autists feel special and that they could do great things.

Where did the “Tajiri has autism” thing come from? I recall hearing it originated on myspace but I could be wrong.

I don't know the origin behind it, places just keep bringing it up like it's fact. Bug-catching is a thing Japanese children do, but they don't continue doing that into adulthood, although Tajiri was real obsessed with video games as a teenager which to the American mind means he's autistic because "obsession". People forget childhood experiences can and often are used by creators because everyone has unique experiences, so Tajiri's fond memories of bug-catching is what inspired Pokémon, and probably also led to catch-rates.

Tajiri might not be "neurotypical" for all we know, but he's never gotten a diagnosis especially as a private person so it's mostly just Americans inserting their Western views into Japanese views, as usual. Pokémon being an extremely common interest among autists doesn't help, but given that one study about how a lot of Millennials have an actual Pokémon database in the visual cortex of their brains, there's a possible link, even though Sonic has slightly closer ties to autism than Pokémon does.

Going into a tangeant there, but anything "cartoon-looking", "simple-looking" or "cute-looking" will attract autists. The Mario fanbase is ripe full of autists. Atleast 4% of furries are autistic or 1 in every 20 furries is autistic. Bronies are autistic. Usually adults who still watch cartoons on TV are autistic.
Autists also usually use unorthodox methods to get ahead of the curve.

So who knows, I always thought the guy who made Pokemon was autistic because the shoe just fit.

I would like that Basculin if you want to trade, Just PM me and we can figure out the details.

I know they fixed shiny Gengar's mega and shit, but finding a shiny haunter was just so disappointing. I know they only change it for gimmick forms, but hot damn it's time to retcon some of these. The shiny Garchomp still makes me angry

Do you guys think we're going to be seeing two concurrent Pokemon games? One in the vein of the games we've been getting for years and another in the vein of Arceus?

I'm pretty sure that Scarlet and Violet will be in the same vein as Arceus, which feels somewhere along the lines of an tech demo. But I wonder if how the next pair will actually stop you from taking on the strongest gym leader ASAP.

Brave of you saying that. I've seen people get the shit beat out of them for claiming that Arceus is anything less than perfection.
This thread isn't exactly the super Pokemon fan club, so he's good. I wouldn't call Arceus the perfect pokemon game either, just a step in the right direction.
