Was it worth it? no.

Brb gonna go 100% perfect the Pokedex.

I turn the animations off and the speed up in Pokemon games. Are the mechanics any different/good?
You know the complains about how Pokémon don’t ever really move or look like they’re doing the attacks from previous games? It’s been heavily addressed here. And the attack animations look like the attacks they’re names too. Flamethrower literally looks like a stream of fire shooting out and blasting the other Pokémon. Brave bird will have the Pokémon light itself up, fly up high and then dive bomb the Pokémon. Definitely worth seeing, imo.

The only Gen that doesn't have a way to get easy shinies is Gen III. Gen II and Gen IV-VIII all have different methods to greatly lower shiny chance, and I believe Gen II, the gen the mechanic was introduced, is second lowest of all, with there being a glitch-free reliable method to have a 1/64 chance to get a Shiny of almost any breedable Pokemon just by having your free Shiny Gyarados be Male(lowest is the Cute Charm Glitch present in all Gen IV games, which can potentially create a 1/10 shiny encounter rate with any wild pokemon species that is capable of being either gender).

So in my own opinion, it is less that they became more common and more that the fanbase overall became more obsessed with grinding for them over time.

Well Gen II was different since it depended on IV's. I'm disappointed that I caught a shiny Ponyta and just found out that they are handing it like candy in Arceus.

Didn't gen two also hand you a free shiny in the form of Lake of rage Gyrados?

This was my biggest gripe with Sword and Shield and why I really felt burned. That and removing moves from the game. Like, motherfuckers the Pokemon aren't even animated to do the moves so why are you removing shit?

To add on to this, the shiny Ponyta also has a functional purpose: to show you the indicators for shiny Pokemon being near you, guaranteed.

Well, I completed all 242 Pokedex entries and got the Shiny Charm. I’m already seeing the charm’s effects but it’s not applying where I expected it to. I’ve seen seven Shiny Pokemon since I got the charm and only one was from a mass outbreak (Qwilfish), the other six I’ve encountered (a third Geodude, an Alpha Golduck, Buneary, Chatot, a male Combee, an East Sea Shellos, and a second Aipom) have been “normal” encounters.

Got research level 10 for all mons (excluding Darkrai and Shaymin) plus full star rank. Game is easily the best 3D core Pokemon game although it isn't hard to achieve, bring on other Legends style games.
Did you get the Shiny Charm after catching Arceus and reporting to Laventon? I’ve been hearing mixed reports about Shaymin and Darkrai being required for Shiny Charm eligibility.

Well, grinded up to Full Rank, still a handful of Pokémon I haven’t gotten yet, got all the wisps, got all but one of the Old Verses, and found out that the Plates you get from Pokémon also have writing on them.

So there’s that.

Yeah I got the Shiny Charm, no need to buy or borrow SwSh or BDSP for it.
Wait, are there Pokémon tied to save data? Shit, I only have one of those games. Which one is tied to which?

SwSh for Shaymin and BDSP for Darkrai
Well, I do prefer Shaymin, so I guess that’s fine.

Christ, why does the camera start fucking up when you’re running on Wyeder? I swear, it’ll just swing wildly in one direction all on its own.

Welp. I gone and soft-locked myself with the Cresselia glitch like an idiot, but I'm taking it in stride because:

A) I put enough time into the game and should focus on more important matters.
B) I was contemplating restarting the game at a later date anyway.

In any case, I'll wait until the next patch before I pick it up again.

(EDIT: I just realized I could create a second user on my Switch to create another save file if I want to so I can leave the other one alone until HOME compatibility arrives. I'm really striking out today.)

Unsurprisingly the “PLA is a colonizer simulator that is disrespectful to Ainu culture” take is very common on Twitter. Also unsurprisingly it’s all from Westerners who probably knew fuck all about Ainu culture or even their existence before this game dropped.

They’re also pretty damn late to the party, I remember people starting to talk about this (and trying to start shit) when the game was announced.

Man, fuck Kamada. Knew there was a reason I didn’t like that guy…constantly bring up how people distrust me, have some balls and admit it was you, jackass!

So I’m at the choice of who to team up with, and I’m assuming this decides who the final boss of the story stuff is, so question to everyone:

Who looks cooler as a boss: Dialga or Palkia? Because I’m leaning toward Dialga, meaning I need to have Irida help me.
