Raaaaage! More missed opportunities as I navigate the post-game. Admittedly a lot of games do this, but even though I beat the unbeatable champion and saved the world, my fucking neighbors in my home town still don't give two shits about me. The ultra sports fans in Elite Four City don't want to talk about anyone else except for the previous champ. And worst of fucking all, despite being Pokemon Jesus I'm still not authorized to use the vending machines in the challenger's room.

When games overlook my achievements in-world it really bugs me. Such a simple thing as a few text boxes vastly improves immersion and motivation.

Legends overview trailer out in japan, finally some clear look at the gameplay

You know what I’m pretty sure they never patched though? If you beat Eternatus and then go back to your house, your mom will already say you’re the Champion.

looks suprisingly good
It captures Sinnoh really well while feeling fresh, I hope to god they don't scrap all these animations and try to build a dex from scratch for the next game because if they make shit this in depth only to ditch the vast majority of pokemon in gen 9 game freak is brain dead, you have assets now, reuse them for fucks sake

I feel the environments could look a lot better but at this point I'm willing to let the graphics slide if it means the gameplay is going to make up for it. Legends actually looks promising to me - I love the idea of being able to just fly around areas of Sinnoh as I please and the fights look like they'll be varied and interesting. I am still going to keep my guard up until I see what players have to say about the game overall but I feel like it's probably time for me to consider which starter I'm going to go for should I buy the game.

I'm glad we at least have this consistent art style to everything for this game with the oil painting, I feel like I'm crazy but all the Switch games before this feel like the Pokémon, environments, and trainers all feel like they are assets from different games especially in SWSH's case. I can over look raw graphics if there's at least competent art direction.

Can't wait to play this on Yuzu with enhanced resolution. Game looks like it's raw dogging the switch.

Also I assume the only reason they did this in Sinnoh was because of Arceus? This concept would've been so much better in Johto.

Probably because gen 4 was the next in the remake line and overall Gen 4 has the most legendries to mess around with compared to any other gen, though I hope we do get some Sinjoh ruins sort of stuff in game

You know that's exactly what they'll do.

gotta say that the gameplay overview has tipped me over into being excited. I anticipate me being in hear screaming in pain from disappointment from some yet unseen fuck up.

>Assign "younger" inexperienced people to handle a top IP
>game turns to shit due to inexperienced people "struggling"

<but muh Diamond and Pearl!!!
Just because by some fucking miracle it worked once (and even then that's debatable), doesn't mean it's always going to work every time you do it. This is the Capcom issue with Street Fighter 3 all over again.

Something like Pokemon should ALWAYS be handled with the utmost care and importance. There should be more experienced people than inexperienced people taking the charge and handling the heavy lifting, leaving the new younger guys to do other shit that's not so important.
This article puts credence to my whole "creative burnout" theory: that a significant amount of game freak's upper management is sick to death of making Pokemon.
