Based as fuck tbfh.

I also agree
I disagree, honestly. Most things people complained about with Sun and Moon seem to be in Sword and Shield, just cranked up to 11. And that's before we even get to cutting Pokémon and moves for "more polished animations". Sun and Moon also felt like games actually made for the console they were released in. Don't get me wrong, Sun and Moon felt like there was something missing from it and while Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon addded a lot of stuff (at the cost of the story becoming shittier) it didn't fix that particular problem.

If I had to pick a game I would go with Sun and Moon because it costs less and I'm a cheap bastard I can still use every Pokémon, Mega form and move, the graphics and animation feel almost the same between the generations, no forced EXP Share on SM and the hand holding + cutscene intrusion seems more present in Sword and Shield.

To be honest, I'd be more interested in finding the stores that sold the games, since they're the ones who broke the actual deals that they had with gamefreak. Those are the ones who actually did something illegal by breaking contracts that they had with nintendo and the PKM company and such.
the purpose of whatever lawsuit they're going to bring is not about personal harm to their brand. It's to create a chilling effect on peoples speech. even if you knew the Walmart or Best buy or Target or GameStop or wherever that sold the strategy guide Pokemon would not give a fuck. They are not about to sue one of the companies that acts as a distributor for their products they just aren't. They're going to try to sue some hapless customer as an example to other customers to never piss off Pokemon

Only way to make this better if you started the post with a image of the crypt keeper.

Kunnu Shofu, became quite disturbed of the product he bought. What started out as praise turned into annoyance until eventually he realized how much these games were poorly thought out. As he discovered the 20 minute timer, all 4 copies became an embarrassment rather then a show of support to him. after the honeymoon phase wore off, all that was left from launch night was the 240 dollar hole in his wallet. Now he must play these games for minimum wage via ad revenue generated from children. Give anything days to settle, and excitement can quickly turn to disappointment.
But launch night is every night here in...The Twilight Zone

Now this is quality shit posting.

I haven't been playing much of Pokémon lately, kinda let the shitstorm get to me and bum me out a bit, but I'm picking the Switch back up again to continue my way. I guess I'm too much of an idiot to get myself a Noibat 'cause they keep running away, so my Dragon Pokémon's gonna be Applin for the time being. It's... actually a cute little thing, I think the Astonish animation works out for it in that department. Took me a bit to catch one since my Pokémon kept knocking them out, but I decided to use a Friend Ball on a female, so let's see how that works out.

No one else has brought it up, but I think the Poké-Jobs is a cute idea. It gives the Pokémon in the boxes something to do, and they'll gain EXP (right?) from it, as well as bring back some money. The more you send out, the better chance they have of doing the job exceptionally (the good def) well, but they also need to be appropriate for the job based on the requirements asked and the ranking. You can choose how long they go out for, but I've been going for half-day for now.

So I like the idea of it. I thought it'd be like a mini-game kind of thing or whatnot where you can control the Pokémon (like the Pokéathlon), but the thought alone of just sending some Pokémon out to do something is nice. Gives off a bit of Mystery Dungeon vibes, and I honestly am happy to see further confirmation that Pokémon will do work and not just lounge around like pets or rotting away in PCs when they're not battling. That kind of world-building is appreciated.

But apparently there's a glitch through it to exploit max EV training.

It was lamented in this thread already, but fucking Christ on a barbecue I can't believe how much worse they've made the online. All I want to do is complete the dex so I can get the shiny charm and hatch a few sparkles for old time's sake (used to be an avid shiny breeder during gen VI and VII) but thanks to no GTS and all my reliable trading buddies from the past not being around anymore I'm at the mercy of Surprise Trades just to finish these last few annoying exclusives.

Not even trying to find raids that have exclusives helps because even if you do find one (which is hard to do on its own due to the asinine posting system) there's a 99% chance you won't even connect.

To think I thought the Plaza was the worst online work GF ever put out, only for them to prove me wrong in every way possible. How did they regress THIS BADLY from the frankly god-like PSS of gen VI?

The Yearly schedule has made them grow lazy, and tired. They can rake in the money with half the effort.

Nintendo just deleted their own video about them giving SwSh fake praises
are they trying to win the award for worse PR since Fallout 76?

are they trying to win the award for worse PR since Fallout 76?

But did they at least reach Blizzard's HK PR fiasco levels of fail yet?

Don't even compare the two.

Fallout 76 is way beyond SWSH levels of bad.
SWSH might be half assed pokemon game.
But it's hard to call Fallout76 a game.
Even PR wise.

A closer comparison to SWSH would be The Sims 4, since that game also either removed or butchered features in past games, is also quite buggy, has a generally casual fanbase, and their fanbase also has it's share of supporters and ass-kissers, i.e. people in the EA Game Changers program.

So it appears that folks have found an exploit that allows them to refresh raids without clearing out Dens, change the weather in the Wild Area, and refresh items spawns and people are bitching about it.

Can't really say I'm surprised by this, Pokemon games have always had some sort of exploit that uses the calendar. These people are going full retard expecting GF to patch it though.

The bad part is that a lot of people do it with online on, and because of how absolutely fucking exceptional their online is it fills the Max Raids with dead non-functional lobbies. The actual exploit itself just helps with how shitty the RNG with the Wild Area is, it should be much, much easier to reroll actives dens and weather. Fuck trying to get a rare pokemon with a hidden ability AS INTENDED since Online basically doesn't work. Every year it's two steps forward once step back with RNG.

It's also solid using it to EV train your pokemon. The minigame EV training was cancer but at least it was easy and you could do it in 10 minutes.

OK, so, I may have figured out why Game Freak has been a shit-show for a while. Doing a bit of a run-down of previous games, I noticed a common trend among them:

The games with relatively efficient file structure and which didn't have a complete shit-show of issues were all ones that Iwata was involved with - I.E. the games after Red and Blue, and going all the way to X and Y, which is when his health problems got bad enough that he pulled out (and sadly, died a bit later).

When we think of games, we tend think of them from a fluff and feature standpoint, rather than crunch. Iwata, however, basically was the crunch man and GodJesus Bearchrist was he important to the series, Kiwis. He pretty much single-handedly developed the algorithm that cut the file size for Pokemon Silver and Pokemon Gold, due to his experience with working with the Game Boy in the past. This is essentially what allowed Game Freak to include Kanto in those games. He also rebuilt the Pokemon Battle System for other platforms, so it could be used on other systems. Pokemon Stadium basically only exists because he did this; Game Freak didn't write anything down regarding the battle system from the original games, so he broke it down and re-did it. The later seperation of Special Attack and Special Defense also happened on his watch.

When you go and look at the games he had no hand in, such as Pokemon Sun and Moon, you'll notice, from a data and correlation perspective, that the game is laughably inefficient, with countless duplicate model and animation entries, to the point where the file size is nearly 7 times what it needs to be. That's a problem common to early-gen 3D games, not something that just came out in 2019 with a crew of career veterans.

But there's a pattern here: The most inelegant and mechanically broken Pokemon games are the ones Iwata did not work on. The implication seems to be that without Iwata's experience and "hands on" nature helping the experience along, Game Freak is back to where they were during Gen 1 and Early Gen 2, and that is very concerning.

So in reality the real pokemon master was Iwata. He was the very best, that there ever was, and now that he gone, It's nonstop.

At game freak.

That super sad to know.

It continually surprises me how much of my childhood Iwata is responsible for. Jesus Christ his death is a tragedy.

It's ok TPC will get all it's money back from some random guys on the internet for "irreparable brand damage" that didn't have anything to do with hurting pr or sales, those pictures of the strategy guide revealed "trade secrets" that will totally destroy their intellectual properties. They can actually increase in their budget for the next generation of games.
