I wish they would have given raihan a real gen 5 weather wars team. Really fuck up a normies day with a sandstorm ttar or a good old rain team. The idea of making a gym based around a more obscure mechanic like that was genius.

Personally, I think we should just have a difficulty setting. Easy, Normal, Hard, and Champion. Easy can be the setting we currently have now. Normal being trainers using items, good movesets, and good 'mons that are the same level as yours. Hard would be trainers use full teams with Smogon-tier movesets, items, strategies, and high-power, high-level 'mons (obviously excluding legendaries). Champion is the same as Hard only you don't get free switch-ins, you can't use items in battle, and your opponents' 'mons would have perfect stats/natures/EVs, etc.

This way everyone gets what they want. Noobs and casuals can still enjoy the game at their own pace, and veterans can have their fun without making the game ridiculously difficult for everyone else.

I wonder if there are any hackroms with a difficulty setting

I really don't understand why this is an impossible concept for GF to grasp. It's such an easy solution to please every sector of their fanbase yet they continue to refuse to do it and dumb the games down over and over with no option whatsoever for players who want something more challenging. Hell even when they did made a hard mode they still fucked it up by making it a version exclusive post-game reward.

Though what do you expect from a company that touted a movable camera, the most absolute bog standard basic mechanic that's been in games for multiple decades, as an advertisement-worthy feature...

Still hold x to run and not press x to toggle between running and walking.

tbf they did try with easy/challenge mode in bw2 once. Nothing too sophisticated of course, and you can already choose between shift and set battle style in menu yourself.

What I hope for is the option of an ironman mode where no in battle items was allow and faint pokemon left your party for good because they're disappointed in you as a trainer. Then again, you can kinda able to do that yourself manually already.

If I may sperg a bit, despite all the negativity Sword and Shield caused, can we at least all agree the new anime opening is slammin'?

Still ironic that the season where they travel through all the regions happens just when the games split Pokemon apart. It all comes together indeed... Hell even the commercials aren't innocent of this.
Really feels like Dexit wasn't on the cards initially with shit like this.

Eh, it's alright. I feel like something's up with how they're playing out this new series, like this might actually be Ash's final journey for all we know. They're yet to step foot on Galar, it's apparently not going to happen for another several weeks.

Guess Team Rocket's still sticking around. People kept speculating they were leaving after Sun and Moon, but likewise with Ash and Pikachu, they're one of the most iconic trios in cartoon history. I also am going to assume Meowth may be able to Gigantamax because he can't evolve, so that should be something.

Where's the rest of the Evangelion cast to congratulate Shinji though?

That’s literally what the postgame is except with a few dynamax battles thrown in.

I’m really not looking forward to gamefreak wink-wink nod-nod introducing Hop as the 9th gen’s Pokémon professor. If they show him as a college burnout/student/intern being slammed under classwork and just have him be an optional encounter they’d get my thumbs up, though.

E: VV It cuts to a prerendered cutscene for some reason when that happens, so I'd assume it's just a badly implemented loading screen.

I finished the post game of Sword.
Oh my goodness, it was soooooo boring! I knew I had to go back to the shrine to return the Rusted Sword once I beat Leon. It could have been interesting because they're descendants of royalty and provide more lore while they're at it but it was just a repeat of the gyms. They could have at least gone to a new area instead of a damn boss rush.

Now that I've done the post story, I've put the game in its case and I'll be playing literally anything else.

And did anyone else experience a long pause after beating Leon? I thought my game crash but it took 7 seconds to switch scenes or was that just me?

Been a fan since gen 4, came into Pokemon a bit late. I find it sad I can only transfer one of my original team members from my first play though of pearl. This game has made me quit Pokemon :C.

the problem is you needed to beat the game to get those in BW2
and while yes, shift does add some difficulty, its still the only option we have now. a lot of other jrpgs have various modifiers out of the box for that.

Wild areas were a nice idea to implement dynamic encounters and seasons and an excuse to add in old pokemon.

Then I realized even the roaming pokemon are hardcoded and won't change, and they'll only change the raid ones now and then. So basically, it's just any other zone but more diverse in cast and larger. Fucking amazing m'dudes.

Holy shit, fuck Opal’s Togekiss. Nearly swept my entire team.
Once the badges let you level something to a decent point, I utterly steamrolled Opal's gym. I had such a bad taste in my mouth from Nessa's Drednaw using Razor Shell on me that I made sure I pushed the level cap at every point thereafter. The Drednaw is maybe 26 when the cap for pokemon obeying you is 30, so it's pretty tough on Gym 2; by the time you're Gym 5, I flexed a few level 60s on her old-ass face.

It’s ok, but if that is supposed to be the female trainer, I just don’t see it. Perhaps because I now have trouble seeing her as anything other than a violent drunk.

Here's another longer, more complete article.

tl;dr Nintendo is salty that people leaked how shitty this game is.

Lawyers for the Pokémon game developer are hunting down unidentified individuals in America who leaked Sword and Shield game information before its release, a new lawsuit has revealed.

Pokémon Company International is particularly peeved at people who posted pictures of previously unseen Pokémon from the Sword and Shield strategy guide on Discord and 4Chan earlier this month. The pictures were also shared on mainstream social social media networks like Facebook, Twitter and Imgur as well as on popular video game sites Polygon and Dot Esports. In total, the developer found 300 Web pages on “dozens of platforms that linked to websites containing the leaked Strategy Guide pictures,” according to the suit.

The Pokémon leaks started on November 1, when a picture of a new Pokémon, Gigantamax Machamp, appeared on Discord. (The Gigantamax versions of Pokémon are given extra power before a battle, a new feature in the Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield games). Just 17 minutes later, the image was shared on 4Chan. Ten minutes later it was on Reddit. Another 18 pictures appeared on Discord, a site that started out as a gamers forum but has been abused by a number of criminal types, from child abusers to hackers.

Lawyers from Perkins Coie (a firm previously hired by Google and other tech giants) wrote that the leaks had caused “irreparable injury” to Pokémon and that the company “is entitled to damages in an amount to be proven at trial.”

Pokémon Company International isn’t suing any named individuals as yet, simply naming the defendants as “John/Jane Does” in its suit, posted Friday. It has identified four Discord users, though, after it hired outside forensic experts to hunt down the leakers. One is believed to be the person who supplied the images to the other defendants, who posted or helped post the photos online. However, as it hasn”t been able to identify the people behind the monikers, Pokémon wants to serve subpoenas on Discord and 4chan to get their help in tracking down the leakers. It’s awaiting the court’s decision.

It’s the second time in two months that a major gaming company has taken to court to deal with a leak. In October, Fortnite developers sued an individual alleging he spilled secrets about its upcoming Chapter 2 release.
