One word: Fujos.Genshit having an almost even split while other gachas like Blue Archive have a 90/10 gender ratio is odd.

I have wondered to myself what, if anything, they'd do to really celebrate the milestone of a tenth generation. Returning the National Dex, even if just this once, is the only realistic thing I can think of./vp/ is sperging out because the Japanese Pokémon Twitter account put out promotional material that included "Gotta Catch 'Em All", as if this is proof that the next generation is going to have the complete pokédex return.

Fantasists!
Imo the last time they were serious about "gotta catch 'em all" was back in gen 6. Every single non-mythical event pokemon was catchable between XY and ORAS. With the easy to use PSS and wonder trading it was pretty clear that they also encouraged trading./vp/ is sperging out because the Japanese Pokémon Twitter account put out promotional material that included "Gotta Catch 'Em All", as if this is proof that the next generation is going to have the complete pokédex return.
its a terrible ad, biggest problem is how its presented, the other one is how the pokemon selections suck. so many gen 1ers. If they wanted to do this properly it should have been pretty but autistic people sperging about their favorite pokemon, or pokemon move, or pokemon type. just reading through the posts here you can see more energy and passion than you saw in that commercial. I accidently see better videos on tiktok that would work as pokemon commercials. some hot chick with an accent sperging about her favorite pokemon, who's appearance which changes based on the season its caught. boom done. It's a boring, bizarre procession of celebrities (I'm assuming) who are here to tell us, in a roundabout way, in painfully-contrived scenarios, with the least-natural delivery possible, about how much they like their favorite Pokémon. And these arefamous
people, so you should like whatever they like, right? Don't worry about the direction of the franchise! No thoughts! Just smile and nod along! Feel the vibe!
you could say the same shit about the 20th anniversary, gen1 is a millstone around the neck of the franchiseThey’ve been doing a lot to try to use the 30th anniversary as an opportunity to try to cash in heavily on millennial nostalgia. They’ve always pushed the first gen when it comes to merchandising, but they’ve really doubled down on it these last couple of years. It wouldn’t bug me so much if it wasn’t basically catering to people that haven’t played a game since 2001 and don’t really appreciate the franchise outside of “muh nostalgia”.
I don't want them to be good in competitive necessarily, but when a Pokèmon is completely worthless in both competitive AND in-game, i don't know what's the point
you know how Anita 12 years ago talked about women would be more likely to play games if they were more comfortable with the themes and characters in them? turns out she wasn't just lying to hurt kiwifarmers feelings, she actually meant it.Genshin Impact has almost a 50/50 gender ratio what the?? There are just as many 26 year old male and female pedos wtf?????
Of course you can forget about transparent grass blade textures or any shadows if you want such performance. Truly pushing the Nintendo Switch 2 to its limits. The announcement is that the next pokémon game will run at 60 fps, but being a small indie studio GameFreak will need to charge 80 dollars for it to make it happen.
They really should just go back to making the 2.5d games they did on DS but for switch. The DS games don't even look bad if you bumped up the internal resolution on an emulator and it's not like Gamefreak are capable in terms of gameplay than anything more than what they provided for gen 4 and 5. Besides, they'd probably save a lot of money by not having to figure out how to develop a 3d rendering engine that rivals such games released in our current year of 2003 in graphics and performance. The best possible announcement would be a declaration that Gamefreak has been shut down, its employees banned from both the video game and software development industries, and a competent studio with actual fun ideas is making pokemon games in the future.

I'm trying to watch rats eating spaghetti, this is the first thing I see.
Fucking hate pokemon.
Never heard of it before, but I might be interested in checking it out. What’s it like?Any of you guys play the Pokemon Odyssey romhack? It's actually the most fun I've had with Pokemon since Black/White 2, the difficulty made me actually appreciate mechanics I don't really use in the mainline games since they're usually really easy and I don't play competitively.
These ads cost more than the development of ZA btw. That reminds me:
Pokémon kept sponsoring intermission reports (expensive ad spot) for men's Olympic hockey all the way up to the gold-medal game (very expensive ad spot).

Whatever this ad blitz was trying to get everybody to look at today had better be good.
If gen 5 remakes turn out to be serious remakes that turn out to be at least solid, then that would make BDSP being BDSP even worse.Gen5 Remake (but ONLY if it's being outsourced)
It's all double battles, all Pokemon are re-balanced and viable, moves are easy to adjust, everyone's IVs are maxed from the start, there is a level cap so you're never OP, you can skip to 1 lvl under the current cap which changes after each floor boss, you can edit your EVs and there's a few other QoL features that mostly focus on completely cutting out the grind so you can focus on battling and team composition. Personally, I played on the hardest difficulty and to beat some of these floor bosses I needed to adjust my team, items, moves and EV allocations about 3-4 times. The exploration is also pretty great and the world is nice, there's original regional variants though I honestly don't like a lot of them design-wise but there is a Fire-type Sunflora that ended up being my MVP in a lot of battles and yes, it was a fucking Sunflora but it was still powerful as hell because of all the rebalancing. The story is ass and I honestly just started skipping dialogue towards the end but the gameplay experience is better than most mainline games imo.Never heard of it before, but I might be interested in checking it out. What’s it like?
My spouse recently got me hooked on Pokémon Unbound, a romhack of Fire Red. It seems to have all pokémon from gens 1-7 (and 8 added later). It’s got its own serviceable story based off the lore from Pokemon X and Y, and the occasional humor in the game has really gotten me. I’ve also been really impressed at how much restraint the game has from cramming too many in-jokes and memes and current year slop, since that’s been my impression of what fan games are typically like. I never thought I’d be at all interested in a fan game/romhack before this, yet I don’t think I’ve had this much fun with a Pokémon game in a long time, maybe ever. It’s even gotten me into learning about EVs/IVs and strategic movesets rather than just picking moves with the highest attack number. Lord help me I actually think I might 100% this thing.
