Oh, and there was some drama in the TCG scene recently.
Firstly, a botter group managed to order over 42,000 Phantasmal Flames products (this November's set featuring Mega Charizard X and Mega Gengar) from the Pokémon Center before the listings were
activated. There's currently mixed responses to it. Some sources say that PC canceled those orders, others say they didn't, and a small amount of people are saying that the first is a red herring being sent out by the bot group to keep the heat off 'em.
And secondly an old high-level TCG competitor by the name of Gino Lombardi was recently unbanned from sanctioned tournaments after being permanently banned for cheating (and, if you want to get technical,
stealing a card binder and a Macbook from another competitor the day after Worlds 2013 concluded) with Andrew Mahone publishing a "documentary" about him to YouTube. (Un)fortunately for Gino the ban was quickly reinstated after word came out about him sexting an underaged TCG competitor back in 2015 and he's been being an lolcow about it since then.
EDIT: Someone reuploaded the documentary (Mahone delisted and later removed it when the sexting allegations came out), I'm working on getting a local archive up but it's 8 minutes short of an hour.
It happened: battery in my copy of Blue Version ran out. Lasted at least 25 years. At least I wasn't really playing it anymore though.
That sucks, my Red version could still save but I had a friend of mine fix the battery on it just to be safe.
Has the Pokémon Company actually listened to the noise?
I personally like to think that the Indigo Disk DLC was made somewhat tougher (even though that's not saying much) and pushing VGC-style double battles into it due to people pointing the lack of any sort of difficult post-story stuff.
