I really wanted to play Pokemon go, but after I'm done making my character or whatever, it keeps crashing.

But you're already playing Pokemon Go! Crashing is an integral part of the Pokemon Go experience!

Seriously, though, unless your phone is utter rubbish, it shouldn't be crashing that much, and it certainly shouldn't crash after creating your trainer.

I plan on making it until the end.
That was a lie, I'm getting super bored of it and I hate the way Niantic is dealing with all of it's problems. Just banning people left and right really leaves a bad taste in my mouth. If they had a leveling up instead of this stupid candy method maybe I'd be inclined to like it more, trying to locate enough of this shit to evolve is really annoying.

It having been a few months and the app having been a bit more 'stabilized' I have some new thoughts.

Pros:
-Hitting Pokestops while riding in the car on errand routes is hard but not impossible and can be kind of fun.
-Since Pokemon presence is usually increased by internet activity means you can usually catch a lot of things if you go to a place with a lot of people (example: went to Wal-Mart; place was LOUSY with Pokemon)

Cons:
-It's still an urban person's game. Literally all the pokestops in my little podunk city are downtown (which we don't go to often), while one particularly large city to the south of us is absolutely riddled with the things.
-The sightings thing really needs work still (at the very least they need to bring back the direction-pointing feature, stop tantalizing me with a Scyther shadow if you won't actually tell me where it fucking is and avoid trespassing)
-The 'area' influencing what kind of Pokemon appear is kind of hit-and-miss. I found a goddamn Machoke in the river. And I mean, it was actually IN the river.
-There really needs to be a better balance of candy and EXP earning as you level up. I'm stuck at 10 and my best mon is a Pidgeot at 540 CP that I leveled up just to see what would happen.

...I'd also say Gym Teams are kind of imbalanced right now, but I might just be salty because I'm Team Instinct and everyone else in my town is Valor or Mystic (mostly Valor).

(Big Pro though: Caught a Dratini on my fucking birthday. Best gift ever.)

a goddamn Machoke in the river.
he was taking a bath, okay
Anyway people complaining that big cities have better pokémon probably havent even actually been to see, I went to Glasgow, sure, stops everywhere, but the pokés were garbage. I caught like 40 Pokémon and nearly all of them are the same crap I can catch back home, hell, worse, because at home I get Magnemites, Omanytes, Dratinis, Pikachus, the starters etc and Glasgow was like. Drowzee. Drowzee. Drowzee. Rattata. Drowzee. The only advantage they have is easy XP at stops but then your bag fills up with garbage like 1 million potions instead of pokéballs so pbbbt
In my experience the best place is next to a large body of water like the sea/river etc, much more Pokés appear while near the sea in my hometown.
I almost caught a Dratini but I ran out of balls cause I used them trying to get a cp700 Rapidash *sob*

God fucking bless.

Never played a drop of Poke shit in my life until Go but because I love CWC's antics and wanted to at least try it once so I know how much shit it is I downloaded it at launch and have played it intermittently since.

It's pretty shitty but for a mid 90's gameboy game would have been acceptable at the time, I guess? I have evolved a Vaporeon that's in the low 700's. Gyms have a lot of my team in charge and the Snorlax's are in the 1700 CP range. I'm on level 14 and have a lot of potion/revive in my items and few lure/catch stuff to go with my 1 lucky egg in reserve, so I'm going to have to go win some Poke'ass-kickings it looks like. I caught a Vileplume at the end of last month and had him squashed twice in seconds against another team's Vaporeon, but he was maybe a 1/3 powered up and I had no clue what the hell I'm supposed to do to win. I find this thread completely lulzy nonetheless.

Also, obligatory, die :c for ruining it with :sonichu:!

Ever since I resumed college, I started getting a fuckton of Pokemon left and right.

And I agree with you guys, they need to work on the XP system so you don't have to worry about getting 34983842359 of a particular Pokemon just to level up or evolve your own.

My phone can't play it.
I tried playing on someone else's phone a bit, but didn't want to get too involved since it wasn't my phone. It was ok. But then again I didn't really get the hang of much.

I might get a new phone this Spring and give it another shot.

By then the craze will have completely died off, you can still get it for sure but... I doubt many people will still be playing it.

I always get the Pokemon games a few months after they launch when the buzz dies. If no one else is around, then I guess I'll just uninstall it. I dunno, if it's a thing I'll play, if not, I don't.
I'm more excited for Pokemon Moon.

Yeah, go experience it for yourself, then decide, hopefully by then no one is around and you can swoop in and steal all the gyms in the area.
