I tried playing on someone else's phone a bit, but didn't want to get too involved since it wasn't my phone. It was ok. But then again I didn't really get the hang of much.

They're releasing the second generation of these creature files to the game in the new year and are implementing a 'buddy' system where you walk a certain number of clicks with your chosen catch and get candies from what I've seen recently. I've been fighting at allied and opposing gyms and was able to take over a level 2 gym for about an hour before my Vaporeon got crushed out of there. My color team is just owning everything around my house right now and I'm having trouble finding anywhere I can even be competitive in battles as my best creature is a 1200'ish level Exeggutor. I do have what my IV checker program calls a 100% perfect Eevee in my collection right now at CP 430 and I guess he has to be force evolved to a Flareon to be able to attack some gyms when I get the 16 extra candies I need to change him? In the wild there's a .02 chance of catching one that strong so I should have played the lottery instead. Yesterday I caught the first Growlithe the game has sprung on me driving to the grocery store.

Game is still real buggy for me, will occasionally get stuck when you miss a throw that never resolves, sometimes will refuse to show stops unless you quit and restart, there's little rhyme or reason to it I can intuit. I never played the Ingress version of this program so I can't tell if that had the same type of issues also or if this is just a special feature of the :autism: re-skin version?

(ETA: Buddy system got updated today and as soon as I tried to start getting those bonus candies, rooted devices are bannhammered supposedly to punish cheaters. So now I have to backup and cloak my desire to control my android phone completely from these cheese-dicks. *sigh*)

If anyone has noticed, every Starbucks has become a pokestop or gym. Starbucks is also selling a Pokemon frappuccino. I tried it out and it was nice.

I haven't really played Pokémon go lately but I recently went on cause I heard they'd be adding Gen 2 but I did see that collaboration, is it anything special? Or is it just a normal looking frappuccino?
 
Sources seem to state that certain Gen 2 Pokémon are going to hatch from eggs. I haven't looked to see if it's an active thing or not but I assume it revolves around baby Pokémon like Pichi, Togepi, possibly the starters.

It's also something to check out when you travel via airports as you can find really strange swarms of things.
 
I finally removed it from my phone a couple days ago, it had just been sitting there taking up space since August. Will most likely re-download once the update drops.

Still have it on mine, I don't mind the space it takes up since I got enough left on my phone (internal 32 gig memory). I just find it a little out of the way to be doing this at nearly subzero temps where I am.
 
I logged on again after a while to see they finally managed to fix and improve the "Nearby Pokémon" function
 
Pokémon Go got updated. Generation 2 (The Pokémon from Johto) is now in the game.

My dad and I were able to find a nest of teddiursas. And he found a larvitar while he was at work. But I found a chikorita close to my house.

The game has included the dark type medal. So I'm catching murkrows like crazy cause I like getting gold medals and they give you a better chance at catching Pokémon depending on the type of medal that you have.

Hitmonlee and hitmonchan candies are fused into tyrogue candy. Which means they now share it.

There are now evolution items that you need to evolve certain Pokémon (like a metal coat for scyther and onix) but they're only obtainable from pokestops, but you need to get lucky enough for one to drop. I did hear that one will definitely drop if you complete your seven day pokestops streak.

And the game has introduced two new berries.

The pinap berry, it increases the candy payout when you catch it, but you need to use another if the Pokémon breaks free in order to make it count. I use this for Pokémon I'm trying to evolve.

And the Nanab berry, it makes the Pokémon you're trying to catch calm down and make it less likely to attack. And you need to use another if it breaks free to keep the effect in place. I don't really use this berry.

And please know that you can only use one berry when you're catching a Pokémon. So choose wisely.

I recently got it again after hearing the update, I had previously deleted it cause yknow it's winter and I wouldn't be walking or driving in blizzards just to catch a Pikachu but I have caught quite a few new Pokemon

Sentret's and Spinarak's spawn frequently around my house so I already have a furret and ariados. I have to say this update is nice cause it cut down on Pidgey and Rattata spawnings so that's a plus.

be sure to know that the game has events. For example, on Halloween, they increased the spawn rates for ghastly, haunter, gengar, cubone, and marowak and the candy payouts were doubled, plus the distance requirements to walk your buddy Pokémon for candy were reduced.

Be sure to look up events so you'll know how to take action about them.

Aw I didn't hear about that sadly, I did however hear about the Christmas pikachu so I have a Christmas pikachu now lmao

I wonder if the Christmas event was also responsible for giving me so many incubators too? Everytime I went to a pokestop it would give me one. I thought it was because I spent many weeks without hatching a single egg in my inventory.

I'm currently at level 23, though I've been playing this casually and haven't put any money into upgrading my stuff yet.
 
I accidentally deleted my account but I'm only 3 levels away from my previous level and I've got lots of pokes so it's all good.

The 7 day streak stops for the evolution items doesn't work btw. I hit 7 today and didn't get any. :(

I read on up on it and it's true ^^ with every pokestop you went by it gave you a incubator to "hold your goodies" lmao - I like how creative they get with the events though it's cute

But I recently just hit level 21 ^^ is probably be higher by now if I hadn't taken a huge break but whatever
 
I managed to catch a Xatu that spawned at my house today which was pretty sick. Got a couple fully evolved ones too, and a 1k Sudowoodo. I'm so close to being able to evolve Porygon but I don't have the required item >:/

There's that. Too bad I already used up those 'bators already. Just don't have the nerve to buy any at all so I'm stuck with the one they gave you from the get-go. Maybe when I manage to get to Level 25, they'll be a little nice to me!

I was just glad when 2nd Gen hit, it just happen to hit when the weather got perfect here in the Ohio Valley. It can be pretty tough to keep at it when it's below the freezing point outside. I tried to maintain gyms but obviously the little whipper snappers always kick my Pokeass out quickly!

Heh, I met one that had a 1K CP too today, didn't get to catch it after a few times, hate losing my fancy balls on these. Still not quite up on these later Pokemon stats anyway.

I'm so close to being able to evolve Porygon but I don't have the required item >:/
