Wait, isn't this a regular thing? When I go to a family run store im expected to pay a transaction charge, because said independent owner doesn't have the margin to pay for everyone's transaction.
But ive come up with a solution. The kinda solution that gets you a ten dollar minimum donation even with charges.
Get a list of who you donate to. Using quality, quantity, determination and willingness to improve, list them from most to least deserving.
Pick 2 from the top and keep donating. For every 2 you pick, remove one from the bottom and stop donating. Rinse and repeat until you've finished.
What does that mean? It means the hard working patreons get more of what their work is worth, and the people who don't pull their weight get less.
"But what if I only have one donation Mr kettle?". Well if you're not in a position to pay an extra 40 cents to show the patreon their works worth, you shouldn't be donating at all. It's clear you don't have the kind of money to throw about.
"But what about the people I feel bad for that won't get my money anymore?". Tell them to use a fucking charity site if you want to treat them like charity. Patreon is not a charity website despite what the low effort troons make you think.
This gives creators more of a drive to create quality content, not the type of shovelware shite you see on steam constantly.
And if all that sounds familiar, that's because that's how the fucking world works.
