Thank you, Bokoen and Null, for making this Off-Topic thread unusable for its primary purporse for the last few days. In other news, I am finally, for once in the entire month of May, not busy, so I will post my analysis of the CK3 DDs I missed either today or tomorrow, time permitting.

Fundamentally incorrect. Ironically (perhaps unironically?), some of the very people like Bethe who help invent the bomb were Jewish. Physics as a whole iirc was considered Jewish and science as a whole became very political which pushed more people out.

This also isnt including the absurd costs to fund such a project, as it seems like the cost was upwards of 2 bil (28~bil today) and had around 140k people working on it (thanks wikipedia).

If America took three years to develop this device while at war, do you think Germany would have succeded anytime sooner with a much smaller industry, lack of scientist specialized in the science around nuclear bomb manufacturing, and eventually in a multifront war could develop such a thing?

The belief the USSR was unprepared for war is accurate, but only to some degree. Stalin knew it would occur, but did not expect it to occur in '41. Thats why we see the abandonment of the Stalin Line and a more focused, forward deployment with the start of entrenching/static defenses being worked on. If he had know it would come in '41, we may not have as large defeats in the initial phases of the invasion in Poland and such.

I think most NAFO people are anti russia because of the invasion of a sovreign nation and the spillage of innocent blood that came from it, less so the homophobia which is pretty rampant in eastern europe. Unrelated but it's funny to read WW2 German sources talking about the UK. They pretty accurately predicted its fate as a raped and empireless AIDs patient.

My favourite part of Mein Kampf is Hitler outright acknowledging Germany could only win if they allied with the UK for any "Eastward crusade."



Pre-war WW2 needs to be examined more because it was a complete botch by all parties involved, though it's easier to lay the blame at the feet of individual politicians and generals.
For instance, more people also need to become aware of how hard France dropped the ball in 1939.

TLDR: Germany had invested so much into Poland that they were minimally defended in the West.

This meant Poland died for no reason—though I'd place far more blame on France for allowing this to happen since British troops were confined to Normany for the most part..
The fact Germany was left alone for half a year doesn't raise nearly enough eyebrows.


It's also notable how Mussolini/Italy played the role Germany did to Austria prior to WW1, where they offered unconditional support (in private) for any ensuing conflict.
Italy not joining the war in September points to the possibility that Mussolini straight up expected Germany to get its teeth kicked in.

Poland almost cucked itself out of any support by being spergs over Romania. If Germany hadn't annexed all the Czech lands/taken Memel, Poland (likely) would've been isolated.
