Yeah that entire shitshow was deliberately hidden to setup a mythological narrative. So much bullshit went down in the 1930s that was straight up ignored and is only now making a comeback as the shadow of the WW2 myth is starting to die.
One of my favorites is how the UK and France almost pushed the USSR to turn Molotov-Ribbertrop into a full alliance with a
supremely retarded plan to sneak attack the Soviets by bombing the fuck out of the Baku oil fields in the Azerbajani SSR, under the moronic delusion that this would cause the entire economy of the USSR to collapse and so deprive Hitler of his economic partner. This is the sort of brain-dead idea even a HoI4 normie with zero comprehension of history would balk at (even if you used a stand in fictional world they might still realize this is a retarded idea).
