I've heard of that and while it looks interesting a couple of things turn me off a lot
apparently all the original music in the game has been replaced with no toggle for the original music and also I'm not sure if i'd say i'm a fan of extra areas, i'd rather just have normal 64 with TTYD mechanics and gameplay

TTYD was my childhood favorite and I will never complain about playing it again.

It'll never go away unless the game completely drops it, which it likely won't.
The sperging about Vivian is in every discussion about ttyd from release to now.
 
Honestly makes me hope the next paper mario game is a synthesis of the old games great aspects and some of the few good qualities of the post sticker star games
tho for me it is still

The editing of the NA localization is as inevitable as the sunrise, due to Current Year sensibilities, but it doesn't really matter since there will be a mod to restore the original script within weeks. I plan on buying the official release anyways, if only for the fleeting hope that this will send a message to Nintendo to bring back the older style of Paper Mario games. You may say I'm a dreamer, but the likelihood of Nintendo even acknowledging this game's existence was thought to be impossible until yesterday.

Even if that doesn't happen, I sincerely hope that enough Zoomers play this remake and realize how awful the nu-Paper Mario games are by comparison, and what they've been missing out on. Somehow Origami King got a pass despite being pretty much the same lackluster gameplay and writing, and I can only assume that 's because either old fans have finally been beaten into lowering their standards, or their new audience of Zoomers have literally never played these games before and don't know how to emulate. Either way I'm excited for the potential future discussion about Paper Mario, and tuning out the trannies that are still picking at the decades-old discussion over Vivian.

Yeah like another user said, while the paper aesthetic and lighting looks nice, the gamecube version still holds up really really well visually, and as @Dynamite Bean said I think they really should've remastered the first paper mario since it could definitely use a new fresh coat of paper paint.
 
its more of a "remaster" just wish theyd preserve history better and stop changing art.

PM64 is available on switch already unedited and thats great, why do i need a remake of tyd? Just give me the actual game unchanged.

Also to anyone who misses tyd and hates how paper mario went, play the mario and luigi games. They kept making them they just rebranded. Also bug fables exists and i prefer it to tyd.

Of course some people would try to find an excuse to complain about this. The original was great and this looks like it'll be even better based on the first trailer alone.

They're technically also trans. The whole trio are all men... but you only ever see the trannies latch onto Vivian. Really makes you thunk 🤔
