AI cores make me want to shoot somebody

I hope this has good gas mileage because while hangyu is the best glider available I'd like to have a free pal slot

I personally hate this thing. It's far too unwieldy. Triple/double jump Galeclaw is so much more tolerable, even if I have to supplement height with a grapple gun. To be fair, you can double/triple jump off cliff faces and grapple a much higher point to ascend fairly quickly. By the point you can make that thing, stamina really isn't much of an issue any more. Had I of known, I would of saved the cores for something else. Even at the point I'm at, they're annoying as fuck to keep in stock.

I'd start saving them for a Hatchery or two personally. I turned 12 breeding stations into 2. These stupid fucking things print 10 eggs in about 20 seconds if you have the cakes. Literal infinite gold/pal souls/ect.

yeah sadly after a test flight this thing is fucking horrible and eats these cells like popcorn plus it also widens the fov to extreme levels the faster you're going so it's extremely difficult to land where you want to land

Hard/Ultra bosses are practically superbosses in any other RPG. You can run the rest of the game pretty comfortably with pretty much anything, but these ones are specifically tuned for min-maxing. I get people wanting to run their favorite pals, but that largely isn't an option with these bosses.

There are only a handful of viable options, sadly, and most of them involve Orserk and Selenne having absolutely broken partner skills compared to the rest of the cast. Running a pure player-boost build including mount is mandatory for some of them, and in the case of Ultras, literal armies are a must. While they are all possible solo, they were certainly balanced to be an actual challenge even in multiplayer.
Could you share what your setup is? I just beat the main story and my Neptilius doesn't feel like it's doing enough.

I would recommend doing the same for hatch time.
Hatching becomes a non-issue once you get the Ancient Hatchery, which is when you should be doing breeding, IMO.

Standardized set:
Orserk (Carry)
Galeclaw (Movement + Support)
Selenne (Atk buff + Support)
Gobfin (Atk buff + Support)
Xenogard (Energy Weapon buff + Support)

Orserk has God of Destruction/Demon God/Immortality/Vampiric and loaded to the teeth with skill fruit. Having Drone Launcher keeps his stacks up and stats buffed, Megaboost gun for even more stats. The idea being that the sheer damage he is doing from having over 12k Atk and double stacked Life-Leech making him into a vampire tank. He takes -50% HP from GoD, but I will have to see how that pans out for the last few bosses. For the first few he is effectively immortal. May need to swap it for Serenity at some point.

The other 4 run Stronghold Stratigist/Reload Master/Vanguard/Idiocyncratic. They're there soley to make you a damage dealer and help keep you bulky. I have a particular fondness for Galeclaw because gliding fast and shooting is a godsend in these fights.

Accessories, I run Dogen Emblem/Warsect Belt/Silvegis Emblem/Triple or Double Jump boots. The first three are for raw stat stacking for me and Orserk, and the boots are good for clearing over a lot of attacks and moving quickly in tandem with Galeclaw.

Some alternative options are PElement stackers like Anubis and Icylyn in place of Gobfin with support passives, or an element damage mount like Frostallion with support passives in place of Orserk. Biggest downside to the non-mount stackers is Orserk can't be out while they give you the buff. I'm also thinking Celesdir Noct as an alternative for Gobfin, but how well that will actually work I don't know yet. Noct gives your in-combat pal a huge attack boost for a DoT HP drain. I need to test if the DPS to HP increase is enough to overcome to the already halved life pool of my Orserk.

Edit: Tested on Zoe real quick. Celesdir + GoD is a no go, and even with Serenity the sheer HP drain from the DoT is gonna force you to recall Orserk to wait for his cooldowns to heal back up pretty often. The damage increase is noticable, but attacks come out too infrequent to maintain HP while being ticked away every second. Your high power attacks are the big healers for Orserk, a low power quick cooldown one just helps offset damage he takes without Nocts passive till he can fire off the big ones.

Hmm, what are your settings to make solo play less of a time consumer? I figured I'd play this now that it reached 1.0 a while back...
Honestly, XP gain is a bit too high on vanilla settings, but you can always double drops from defeated Pals and drop egg incubator time to 0.

Set weight to 0. Mechanics which provide asymmetric disadvantages with no benefit or challange to the player don't serve a purpose.

In multiplayer it's relevant due to resource scarcity, and even then limited inventory spaces with smaller stacks achieve the same goal by limiting your capacity.

Do whatever you want with death penalties. I disabled them, but now I think I should at least set items to loss. Discourages suicide warping, and forces you to explore more which is easier with weight disabled.

Up natural resource yield. No point in wasting time mining or chopping wood. Keeps you out of the game loop of exploration, breeding and base building.

You can adjust hatch times to be lower or 0, but I would only do that if I was focusing on breeding pals with specific talents which isn't fun for everyone, and really isn't relevant to an explorer.

Don't raise experience. The trust mechanic was introduced to make early game pals viable in the late game, its more relevant to them and raises separate from EXP at a lower rate. Makes your Dinossoum you caught 2 hours into the game an absolute death machine 20 hours later instead of weaker at a higher level.

I'd adjust view distance, but my graphics card is dying and I refuse to let it die a warriors death.

Edit: Don't set airdrop period to 0 unless you want to make a field of dead NPCs.

Whatever you find fun. Here's mine.

I doubled item drops (and might increase it more).
This reduces SP grind, and in MP you're pooling resources so they aren't an issue.

Turn down or off food spoilage.
You will have enough Jam sandwiches to feed a small nation, and it's trivial to cheese with inventory shuffling.

I'd keep weight on. Even if you do lower it.
There are mechanics and pals built around carry weight.

Everyone seems to like reducing incubation time and increasing work speed. These were never a problem for me as I tend to que things up, then go off to do things.

Edit: And if you want to reduce carrying things. Leave 1 of each heavy resource (ore, wood, etc) in each base, and keep a chest next to your warp point. That way, you can warp somewhere, press R to quick dump inventory, and then warp away. You can also transfer ores, wood, etc easier since you're right next to the supply.

Edit 2: And I turn down item durability loss.

I think increasing pal base counts and base nr is a must for me. What's the point of having all these pals if I can't put them to fucking work?

silver lining: at least it sells for a lot, I almost discarded it out of disgust but then decided to check at a merchant

As much as I love the idea of putting 50 pals to work in every base, in practice I found it rarely needed to the extent that 50 are actually active at any base. For the most part a mining/production base and a breed/ranch/farm base were all I needed. Production usually stagnated around 35-40. Breeding/farming only hit 50 for breif periods where I needed to ramp up cake production, but then would drop back down to 35-40 because they were farming too fast to manage, funnily enough.

Having 50 pals active at my exp farm is useful though. I only need 20 to run it, so I can swap in 30 Dumud Gild at a time for about a minute per wave, getting them all up to Lv 23-24. They're double the value they are at Lv 1 after a minute of just sitting on your ass.

Are there mods to
A) increase the number of Pals in your posse
B) increase the number of active Pals.

Just defeated bella whatever and it was fun to see all my pals at the base melt her.

Haven't tried it yet, but this should help with having all your pals gang up and beat the shit out of anyone giving you trouble.

ETA: Yeah it works.

two of these babies rendered one of my bases almost completely obsolete, it only has a fishing pond and the expedition station now
soon i'll get the cloning superbreeder 9000 or whatever it is that replaces the egg farm and the other one will be solely delegated to milk, eggs and honey

Almost every single hour there is another "Da Hard Bosses R 2 Hard, PLZ NERF" thread on the Steam Discussion forum. When this many people get filtered by the first Hard boss, it becomes all too clear to me the average gamer is a literal neanderthal. These retards are exactly why so many games are hand holding dogshit with no teeth these days.

the nerfs are in the world settings, just give yourself max damage output and max damage received for pals, bam you have an assault rifle that hits for 150k per bullet

So, what exactly are the best base locations for resources? Got a base set up on the plateau just under the Rayne Syndicate Tower overlooking the lake, and am wondering where else I should go for things like oil or other resources.

I like Sakurajima for crude oil but, earlier in thread someone said there was a three ring crude set up near the first sanctuary. Honestly i'd just set up where you like most of the stuff you can build on base for resources.
