Serious answer, I'm a combination of little-l libertarian and Republican who usually votes for the latter while recognizing that the GOP wants to control us just as much as the Democrats but in different ways and the Libertarian party is too crazy and neckbearded to get elected anytime soon.

I believe in lower taxes, lower spending, and lower (but not no) regulation. I believe that the second amendment is an absolute right, should apply to machine guns and other military hardware, and has nothing to do with hunting or target shooting. I believe that the first amendment is an absolute right and is all about protecting the unpopular, crazy, hateful, or just plain minority beliefs. I don't see why abortion should be illegal while the fetus is not viable, nor why many drugs should be illegal at all. I don't think the government should have any business with marriage whatsoever but as long as it's butting in, it should apply to gay couples and probably even multiple-partner relationships as well as straight monogamous couples. I DON'T believe a gay or polygamous couple, or straight couple for that matter, should be allowed to force a church to recognize or officiate their union, or a business to supply it.

I believe in a strong national defense but less national offense. I believe we should cut defense spending but from procurement, not personnel pay and benefits; when you have a dogshit program like the F-35 costing hundreds of billions before it leaves the ground and running competition after competition to replace the service rifle without ever actually replacing the service rifle you know you're fucking up and need to slap the shit out of some contractors. I believe we need the NSA, the CIA, and the NRO but they've overstepped their bounds by miles and need to be reigned in and not focus on US citizens.

I believe in NASA, the NSF, the CDC, DARPA, and the NIH, but think they fund some wacky shit they probably shouldn't. I believe the NEA and the Department of Education should be gutted. The government has very little business funding arts, and education is better handled on a local level, especially with spending shooting up with fuckall to show for it. Frankly, a lot of things are better handled on a local level.

I believe in short-term unemployment and maybe even a little bit of things like WIC and energy assistance but that we should phase out social security and tell people they need to plan for their own retirement. I believe that the health care system should be reformed but the way it was done with the ACA is the most ass-backwards way it could possibly have been done and fucked things up for years to come.

I believe we should have less focus on fossil fuels but should be allowing further exploration of the reserves we have, using safe and mature technologies like nuclear instead of inefficient ones like solar and wind to cover the current gap, and researching more into biofuels. Algae is very promising. I don't believe we should be subsidizing corn for ethanol, or really almost any crop for any reason.

Finally, I believe the test posted in the OP is poorly worded and designed, and here are two better ones:

Although I registered as republican (So I could vote in primaries), I lean more towards moderate. My views differ on certain subjects though and I'm more than willing to admit that I'am ignorant in regards to political issues though I'm careful since I feel the media will try to sway you with whatever news network they have, be it MSNBC or Fox News. Really though, I'll just say this: when it comes to politics, I may as well be lazy as Chris. All I know is that both parties have their own agenda as to how they want to run the nation.

I am more focused on issues rather than the overarching political ideologies. I also am aware that politics is an exercise in frustration. Money owns politics. Let us not forget, that although Reagan enacted many economy-destroying policies, it was Clinton who put the final nail in the economic coffin by fully deregulating the banks and killing the Glass-Stegall Act. Republicans and Democrats are guilty.

"Your test scores indicate that you are an open-minded progressive; this is the political profile one might associate with a journalist. It appears that you are skeptical towards religion, and have a generally optimistic attitude towards humanity in general.

Your attitudes towards economics appear socialist, and combined with your social attitudes this creates the picture of someone who would generally be described as a humanist.

To round out the picture you appear to be, political preference aside, a sensible radical egalitarian with several strong convictions."

According to that test, these are my results.

Your test scores indicate that you are an open-minded cultural centrist; this is the political profile one might associate with a protective parent. It appears that you are tolerant towards religion, and have a generally optimistic attitude towards humanity in general.

Your attitudes towards economics appear capitalist, and combined with your social attitudes this creates the picture of someone who would generally be described as a traditionalist.

To round out the picture you appear to be, political preference aside, a considerate realistic egalitarian with few strong convictions.

This concludes our analysis; we hope you found your results accurate, useful, and interesting.

Unlike many other political tests found on the Internet which base themselves on untested (and usually ideologically motivated) ideas, this inventory is adapted from Hans Eysenck's own political inventory which was developed after extensive empirical investigations in the 20th Century.

I don't generally prescribe to political leanings. I just vote for the candidate that I think would do the better job. I have elements of different political ideologies but I don't subscribe to the group think or hand wave the flaws from them away either.

Progressivism 62.5
Socialism 25

Your test scores indicate that you are a tough-minded progressive; this is the political profile one might associate with a jaded materialist. It appears that you are distrustful towards religion, and have a pragmatic attitude towards humanity in general.
Your attitudes towards economics appear capitalist, and combined with your social attitudes this creates the picture of someone who would generally be described as a libertarian.
To round out the picture you appear to be, political preference aside, a uncompromising radical centrist with few strong convictions.

Black Power. Down with whitey.

EDIT: But to keep this discussion serious and whatnot, I took the test. Apparently I'm mostly Green Party/Socialist with Libertarianism thrown in there.

I prefer to refer to myself as an egalitarian above all else. I'm a pretty big fan of Emma Goldman and Pytor Kropotkin, so I guess that probably says enough. I'm pretty good with compromise, though, since i acknowledge that a lot of my ideals are utopian at best.

My results:

Progressivism 90
Socialism 100
Tenderness 53.125

Your test scores indicate that you are an open-minded ultra-progressive; this is the political profile one might associate with a university professor. It appears that you are skeptical towards religion, and have a generally optimistic attitude towards humanity in general.

Your attitudes towards economics appear communist, and combined with your social attitudes this creates the picture of someone who would generally be described as a cultural marxist.

To round out the picture you appear to be, political preference aside, a sensible principled egalitarian with many strong convictions.

This concludes our analysis; we hope you found your results accurate, useful, and interesting.

I would consider myself a classical liberal, with more hardline libertarian stances on some specific issues. I'm officially a member of the Libertarian Party, and actually almost ran this year (I'll be moving out of the county before the election comes up, though, so I turned the offer down). I occasionally do a little writing for the local news paper about events and initiatives being done and my take on them.

Political Values

Progressivism 60
Socialism 50
Tenderness 28.125

Your test scores indicate that you are a tough-minded cultural centrist; this is the political profile one might associate with a jaded materialist. It appears that you are skeptical towards religion, and have an indifferent and uncompassionate attitude towards humanity in general.

Your attitudes towards economics appear neither committedly capitalist nor socialist, and combined with your social attitudes this creates the picture of someone who would generally be described as a liberal.

To round out the picture you appear to be, political preference aside, a considerate radical centrist with several strong convictions.

This concludes our analysis; we hope you found your results accurate, useful, and interesting.

Disregarding that test, I'm a radical leftist. I used to be far more into politics a few years ago but I've mostly cooled down on caring. It's all too distant for me.
