Any other moderates out there?

I'm not talking about people who are moderately fat or moderately sexy. I'm saying people who have a political and social opinion that's in between the two extremes. I honestly think the world would be a better place if more people were willing to stop living their lives under the labels of "Liberal" or "Conservative" and instead live under the much superior label of "Moderate."

My political beliefs are such as this.

I am a liberal in the sense that I support gay marriage, but a conservative in the sense that I do not support abortion.
I am a conservative in the sense that I support gun ownership, but a liberal in the sense that seriously these shooting rampages are kind of a problem and shouldn't be blamed on video games.

What are your thoughts on moderates in general, and are you one yourself?

Progressivism 72.5
Socialism 87.5
Tenderness 65.625

Your test scores indicate that you are a tender-minded progressive; this is the political profile one might associate with a university professor. It appears that you are tolerant towards religion, and have a compassionate and sympathetic attitude towards humanity in general.

Your attitudes towards economics appear socialist, and combined with your social attitudes this creates the picture of someone who would generally be described as a humanist.

To round out the picture you appear to be, political preference aside, a sensible principled egalitarian with several strong convictions.

I'm a little surprised that I came out so . . . left, considering my upbringing and military service. Oh well.

Other test:

Progressivism 95
Socialism 100
Tenderness 43.75

Your test scores indicate that you are an open-minded ultra-progressive; this is the political profile one might associate with a journalist. It appears that you are skeptical towards religion, and have a balanced attitude towards humanity in general.

Your attitudes towards economics appear communist, and combined with your social attitudes this creates the picture of someone who would generally be described as a humanist.

To round out the picture you appear to be, political preference aside, a sensible realistic egalitarian with a firmly established worldview.

No surprise there.

Although there's a contrast between my rational ideas and idealistic thoughts. For instance... in a test based more on the rational questions, like the second one, I come out more of a "progressive" Marxist-Leninist/Trotskyist type. And that's pretty close to the mark, but I don't care for orthodoxy, so my socialist stage of society would be heavily influenced by the more democratic capitalist trends, i.e. social democracy. Then the Political Compass is more representative of the end result, the idealistic one, which would be more anarcho-communist or libertarian socialist.

These tests did a good job of splitting rational from idealistic, very complimentary, very accurate.

I decided to take everything again, not much has changed.

I am such a ridiculous conservative it took me so long to accept it.

Can't wait for 2017 and this administration will finally, once and for all, be over.

From the test. If I had to describe it I'd say do what you want within reason, don't be a dick about it.

I was curious as to what people's thoughts were about Hillary Clinton? Whether love her or hate her she certainly is controversial. Do people here like her? Would she make a fantastic next president of the U.S.A?

She is NOT going to win a general election. That's my thoughts on her.

I'd do the other test, but I just didn't care about any of the issues, it seemed very America-centric and its ridiculous how little I care about American politics.

EDIT: didn't see the third one.

Political Values

Progressivism 67.5
Socialism 43.75
Tenderness 28.125

Your test scores indicate that you are a tough-minded progressive; this is the political profile one might associate with a journalist. It appears that you are distrustful towards religion, and have a pragmatic attitude towards humanity in general.

Your attitudes towards economics appear neither committedly capitalist nor socialist, and combined with your social attitudes this creates the picture of someone who would generally be described as a liberal.

To round out the picture you appear to be, political preference aside, a uncompromising realistic egalitarian with several strong convictions.

My graph thingy was like Melchett's, and the other one was excessively American... still came out as Democrat. But I don't support Obama, so... *yawn*
Also, I want to say that I'm almost apolitical, so it doesn't mean much to begin with...

Keep dreaming. You really think Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, Paul Ryan, or any of the other right-wing losers are going to take the 2016 election? Not a chance. The best the right-wingers can do is take the Senate this fall. The Presidency is locked down for Democrats.

I dunno, just based on the last few election cycles, no part has one more than two consecutive terms in a long time, plus Obama's numbers are low. As unpopular as Romney was, Obama barley beat him.

I hate to jump in and correct a mod, but "Obama barley beat him" isn't accurate at all. Obama carried 313 electoral votes versus Romney's 225, and according to Nate Silver the Math Wizard had a nearly 91% chance of retaining the presidency.

"arley beat him" is what late night news programs love to tout because it drives viewers and clicks, but their spin machines were the only place where the election was close. All political observers that weren't paid shills or crazy-pants weirdos were reasonably confident that Obama would retain. The voter numbers, and the electoral college votes, verify that.
