I stopped playing around the time I got an Xbox 360, around 2010 or so. Stopped mostly because the vast majority of people on my friends list stopped logging on. One by one, they moved on. Some of them I managed to make contact with outside the game, but only a precious few.

Bittersweet memories about when RuneScape is the topic. Memories of joining a clan, making friends, eagerly waiting on the forums right before major updates like the GE, Clan Wars, God Wars, etc. Attending in-game weddings of friends who got married in real life. Grinding for xp and mats with friends, just bullshitting about in general chat. Celebrating each friends' new 99. Etc.

Simpler days when life was a little slower, a little nicer, and a bit brighter. The only thing I regret is not being able to keep in contact with my friends. Sometimes I wonder how life turned out for them or how they might be doing in this fucked up clown world.

I guess I'll never know.

For the first time since 2017 Old School RuneScape is having a Gay Pride event featuring an elderly homosexual leprechaun and an official in game pride parade tomorrow (june 23rd). Players aren't happy.

Jagex is supposed to poll all content before putting it in the game. Guess they decided not to poll the faggot pride update.

Man you can't even escape fag shit in video games anymore, and that's the whole fucking point of bing bing wahoo, escapism.
 
Apparently there's been riots over the gay pride shit ala 2017. I know people have been getting assmad about it, and Reddit threads on it have been getting self harm reported. It's pretty funny shit to kick back and watch.
 
I'm surprised they're doing another pride event after the shit show that was the 2017 one. I'd like to make a bigger post cataloguing this stuff, but I don't have access to my computer and it's a bit of a hassle on my phone. Info and screencaps taken from 4chan, the dev blogs, and the wiki since I'm not currently a member. There's an in-game pride parade from the event location to the Falador party room. The mods are threatening a ban on anybody trolling the event.

According to the wiki, the usual methods of protest are locked out of the event area.

Players are supposedly protesting the event by wearing desert robes and noose wands. Equipping these and transferring to a F2P world will now cause them to unequip.

Personally, I support the LGB, but as long as they're associated with trannies, I can't support pride as a whole. The only part about this pride in OSRS that bothers me is this note in the dev blog.

What elements are they referring to? What needs to be changed? Runescape isn't a controversial game. they're only inviting controversial shit in by making these indescript changes.
 
Recording of the in-game gay pride parade. The Jmod leading the parade made the odd choice of being a giant demon. Players questioning why Jagex doesn't put this relatively trivial effort into non-gay oriented events like reviving Castle Wars.
 
OSRS is one of the few games I can think of that aren't extremely obscure where I still see people calling each other faggots and niggers on a regular basis. I cannot even begin to imagine who thought this was a good idea.
