June saw a higher peak than May, and was also at a higher peak than June of the previous year. Overall the trend seems to be small increases ever since they announced the CEO change in March.

there’s some charm to Sailing existing, it helps make the world feel a lot bigger again. I say again because at some point in your game play it just turns into teleportscape, and a lot less walking, so I like the charm of that, I just don’t necessarily like the aspect of constantly having to do Cargo runs but I’ve also haven’t done much playing past the first quest to see the full potential of Sailing

One of the fun parts of starting a new account is having to run everywhere because you cannot afford teleports.

It really goes to show that chuds are a much higher proportion of the playerbase than Jagex or the reddit want to admit. I'm not counting the price increase because that pissed everyone off, but 248 vs 152 -- ~63% more negative reviews for adding tranny pandering shit versus negative reviews for removing tranny shit.

Alright I’m gonna shill this series because it’s probably the reason why we have a big WoW crossover in OSRS currently

This has been great to watch, seeing someone play OSRS completely blind without external help has been really fun. Yeah at times his repetitive boomer-esque comments can be a bit eye rolling but it’s just so fresh to have a series where it’s not someone that knows anything and everything about what they’re doing

Also he’s the reason why I’m leveling my mining now because for whatever reason this dude is just straight up going for 99 mining

He's mentioned before that he beat Legend's Quest back in the pre Runescape 2 days and quit around 2005 or 2006? Whip didn't even exist, he's a real OG for RS.

How's the game been since June? Is the RS DM chain still open?
June was relatively quiet. A small, very vocal minority of faggots "rioted" in Falador over the pride event being axed. Otherwise, it's Old School has kept doing what Old School does.

Yeah, the DM chain is still open.

What's the best way to play now? Is it still best to go with Runelite or has the official client caught up with plugins and the like?

As a mobile purist….. but seriously Runelite is optimal if you want the maximum amount of hand holding :)

The main client/mobile has gotten some buffs like tile marking, MES, and npc high light but no huge ones like quest helper or puzzle slider solvers,

Well I did get 99 mining, didn’t screen shot unfortunately, I did beat mad season has he stopped about halfway into 98 mining and stumbled upon Wintertodt at least that’s what it looks like by looking at the hiscores of Monomadness

On to woodcutting now, probably gonna get to 98 before the new content coming out this coming week, but holy shit are redwoods amazing, with mining I would get 200-300k exp in a day of afk star mining while I work and listening to the sound of pick axes hitting the star over and over, but man redwoods I’ll get 500-600k in a day

Once the WoW players get past the honeymoon period and into the grindier content there will be a drop-off. Some will probably stick around because they'll see the big picture; you gotta do the long grind for your "permanent" items, but I could even see some of those dropping depending on their audience. It might even be sooner with the new patch around the corner. WoW streamers aren't going to miss their new content.

WoW equipment resets every patch but the grind isn't as long, not as annoying, the equipment is more impactful, and they give you more ways to get the gear.
My OSRS breaking point was getting my first weapon seed on Corrupt Gauntlet after 2400 kills. 12+ minutes per kill. That's 20+ days before counting failed kills and mine isn't even the worst. OSRS can and has eaten months out of our lives.

Still, I prefer OSRS to WoW. Even with it's flaws i it's the superior game.

I think WoW content is pretty much dead, there’s no good WoW content creators for retail beyond Race to World First, and the only ones that were big pushing Classic content are the big tourists to the game right now.

RuneScape is endless content, dry for a drop? Content. Spooned for a drop? Content. Died on Scurrius? Content. Hardcore Death #33? Content. Hell even in the real sense of content, Jagex releases semi annual road maps for their major updates/events so it’s easy to plan around updates, and on top of that the poll system that also constantly adds content as well. OSRS is easy to slap content together compared to WoW.

and the big thing like everyone has been saying that, despite that yes, you could go days dry for a drop, but at this very point of the game, there’s next to no power creep (mostly due to component scape requiring previous tier equipment) so EVERY drop you get means something and has a use.

I think give it time and let Soda and the big names get a taste of everything and you could see big events like Onlyfangs, getting even more people into OSRS. Gotta remember these guys have been playing WoW for fucking years, they know the ins and outs of every aspect of clsssic/classic expansions, they wanna see how a raid works in a point click game, how the PVP works.

Ironman mode is fun up until after you get barrows gloves, then it's months farming the same content for minimal rewards. They will quit the game in a month if they don't de-iron after that point. If you go dry on a normal account, you can sell all the basic drops you get to just buy the item you want. 2400 completions of Corrupted Gauntlet is about 400m--which is enough to buy bowfa and crystal armour nearly 3 times.
