Does one have to be a super autist/code monkey to create a private server? I've wanted to make one for another dead game (Anarchy Online) but from my experience playing on a private WoW server it seems like something a non coder would have trouble with.
Never tried RuneScape, but I've made a few for MapleStory and WoW in the past, and it wasn't very hard. I remember having a bit of trouble with the SQL shit, but I got it after a while.

I’m not going to read 20 pages just to find the 7-8 other posts that say precisely what I’m about to say, I’m just going to echo it again:

Of all the fucking games to scream about transsexuality inclusion, fucking OSRS? The game with a quest that introduces and requires a sex change potion as a part of it, which then implies that sex changes are a fairly simple and straightforward drink the potion thing? Brink back the white robes.

sometimes i randomly remember how they took all the date rape jokes out of KoL and I get really sad

I barely game but I understand this pain

I always thought RuneScape was gay. “RuneScape is gay” may have been the first time I described something as gay over 20 years ago. Now it’s actually gay. Damn.

omfg I was struggling to think of how this would interact with a quest because they didn't mention it.

Sir Leye is a knight of Merlin and in a specific miniquest for Recruitment Drive you have to defeat him. He says "No man can defeat me!" which is the hint you have to go to the Makeover Mage and change your character's sex to female to do damage to him. They changed that to "no blade may harm me" and you just can't use a sword. Just use any non-bladed weapon.

So I was immediately thinking how they're going to implement sex for that miniquest only to discover they had already fagged it up years ago. They just can't stop being gay retards.

Having to change your gender to defeat a character sounds gay and trans, in reality you cannot change gender so it is good if that particular quest become more like the real world. I never change preselected gender in any game.

My Ironman. perma muted for saying nigger and faggot in clan chat to my mates a few months back.
this update was the straw that broke the camels back for me, was good while it lasted bros.

Guess what change wasn't polled? All the fag shit. Because the OSRS players don't want fag shit. They don't want fag capes, they don't want fag pronouns, they don't want Body Type A/B, they don't want 15 year old quests changed so you don't have to marry a prince or princess opposite your gender.
They also fucked up numerous other funny and creative quests.

- Changed the desert characters names after The Feud quest so everybody isn't named "Ali". The lore is that a man named Ali was owed an inheritance so everybody changed name to Ali.

- Changed the Recruitment Drive quest so you don't have to change gender (if you were male) to defeat an NPC where "no MAN can defeat me".

They're seriously taking the piss with these changes. The Ali joke is funny, and there shouldnt need to be the ability to "learn the names" of all the NPCs after the quest to appease some dumb offended cunt. And "no MAN can defeat me" is a play on words and at least a tiny bit creative. The new updated version that uses bladed vs non-bladed weapons is just ?????

the trannies win again. THey are far more annoying and always get what they want, which is to destroy all happiness in the world. Runescape was always doomed because it's british and the british are weak and stupid. They love woke shit, they love their council houses and their slums and stepping over crackheads on the way to their government job where'll they'll hand out tickets for saying naughty words and not having a license to exist.
we really don't. ask any random person on the street about this shit (well, in a setting where they don't think they'll be judged by society or face legal repercussions or lose their job…) and they'll all say this shit is retarded. we don't like the government's authoritarianism and tyranny or tranny woke garbage but we don't have much choice but to accept it because every political party with any chance of winning in our shitty first past the post system is authoritarian and woke and we don't have guns to fight back with (and ironically this is the one topic i've found where people ARE supportive of the government's tyranny; the populace here has been completely brainwashed on the guns topic). this is my personal experience anyway, i have heard anecdotes from city dwellers that there's a decent population who does actually like this shit there, but i don't go anywhere near cities. the problem is our culture of being polite means that people here tend to only express these sentiments in private because it's not "socially acceptable" even though it's the normal view. in that regard we are definitely weak

Do you guys think players will leave over this in large enough numbers to make an impact?
If you want my honest opinion, likely not. I feel like a majority of the playerbase who have taken issue with this change will just forget about it and continue giving Fagex their $10-something a month for membership.

there's also the fact that a lot of us don't even pay for membership. we buy bonds from the grand exchange with ingame gp.
i guess this is indirectly giving jagex money since those bonds come into existence from whales buying them from jagex with real money to sell for ingame currency (it's literally legal rwt, but obviously ironmen can't do this. they can still buy bonds with ingame gp though).
personally i haven't given jagex a penny since 2017 (after the initial pride bullshit) because i'd already earned enough gp on my "main" account over the years before i quit it to fund the rest of my accounts' membership for years.
bonds have skyrocketed in price now (they were 3.5m, now they're 14m) so this isn't as viable as it used to be, but higher levelled accounts can easily earn upwards of 3m an hour and a bond gives you 2 weeks of membership. even an ironman could still fund a bond with about an hour of corrupted gauntlet a day

This is besides the point of pronouns and whatever, but why?
I have mentioned in a previous post that my plans for a fresh RS3 account were cut short pretty quickly because of the GE price of bonds and how much grind it would take. I understand the effort is probably tens of times less when you're an endgame account but it all comes back to why?

What's so amazing about OSRS that necessitates anyone playing it set aside a few hours per two weeks to make back their bond money? I understand it's easy but it's still a few hours you could be spending doing or playing anything else.
Is the coliseum or tomes of amascut/theater of blood just that fucking fun to play for the hundredth time?

I've had the same experience with Spiral Knights but at least that was extremely fun to play in the process of getting ingame money to pay your crystal energy costs and the "grind" was like three days at the start and then you could play as you please without spending a dime.

why play anything? loads of people play shit like mobas, which i consider complete trash and would ask a similar question to them as you do to osrs players, among other trash, for thousands of hours too. either you get it or you don't. runescape is my comfort game, i play it when i want to play something and can't be bothered playing anything else (which is a lot of the time). also as mentioned previously i don't have to grind for bonds because of my amassed wealth from my main account, and when i still played a main i made so much money just by playing the game normally that bond money was negligible

This is a troll right?

I agree, trans people matter, which is why they should be dragged away from their delusions at any cost, rather than being allowed to goad others into self-serving indulgence that serves only to push them further towards the near-majority case of suicide. every time you validate a troon, you risk having blood on your hands.
