I do think it's generally true that these guys will appear to be fine, for their standards of "fine," for a shockingly long time, before all of a sudden everything just catches up to them all at once and that's it. I think that actually getting sepsis would be the latter and Brine wouldn't be up and about and back to doing firesales within mere hours of having that. Again, not a doctor, but cursory research suggests sepsis generally leads to a hospital stay of a couple weeks at least, with full recovery taking months. I can't imagine Blade would recover from it faster than the average given his condition. The EMS probably worried that he had sepsis for obvious reasons, but then he didn't actually have it, he was just too litty.

This is actually true though. Like I said earlier he'd have to get into some kind of recovery program somehow in order to actually go sober and not end up homeless.

The issue I see with him getting sober is he has very little choice in the matter. He's a felon, has a long job gap, and has a huge internet footprint. If he wants to eat, he has to drink to get money. It's gonna be a hard, nearly impossible hole for him to get out. He will die with a bottle in his hands unless he get a regular job.
 
He's going to wake up from a week long litty with like 15-20k in his account.

A stronger and more self aware person would use thst money to immediately course correct and restart their life.

Blade being Blade will use it to self destruct.

This is why I reference a recovery program. There are programs where you do a month of in-patient then you can live in a halfway house with minimal expenses while you get your shit together and try to look for some kind of an actual job. That's the kind of support and environment he would need. Not sure how or if Blade could pay for it, but if nothing else, he could potentially save up for it over the course of some litty streams.

The bigger obstacle is his smugness. He'll never actually check himself into rehab, and even if he did, he wouldn't last the month, he'd just check himself out after a few days or something. Even if he made it through in-patient, most people still don't last long term. Blade would be miserable having to exist sober in a halfway house trying not to do any streaming or IP2 type bullshit. He would eventually give up on it and get litty for the same reasons he eventually abandoned the sober-to-take-care-of-Peggy arc. I mean most addicts relapse even without the option to actively make thousands of dollars by doing so, so Blade really has no chance given that circumstance.

Regarding getting taken to the hospital again. He was OK sleeping in his hotel room and clearly some alog called 911 saying he was dying. We need a term like SWATing but for a malicious waste of time/money welfare check. He was basically kidnapped to the hospital.
 
He's like Harrison Bergeron. Chat is always there to disrupt his thoughts, and the Jaeger just nerfs him so everyone else can keep up.

The way he semi-willingly wears that albatross around his neck is nuts. I think the smugness is the only way he can deal with chat fucking with him. He's got the patience of a saint.

Man did not evolve to cope with the particular hole he has dug for himself. He's doomed.

Gambling is the finest thing a man can do if he is good at it and the only thing that makes you a good gambler is knowing when to minimize your risk and walk away with winnings. That's is all you need to be successful at it, simple Risk Management logic. If he goes back and deposits the winnings in other games later (Which is he definately gonna do) he is not a good gambler lol
