The 35% alcohol content DOES kill germs (it doesn't spoil despite having tons of sugar) but it's not the best disinfectant in clinical setting:
  • Pure ethanol above 90% evaporates too quickly, compromising germicidal action.
  • Lower proof alcoholic beverages like vodka (around 40%) are ineffective for disinfection and unsuitable due to sugar content, which can feed bacteria after alcohol evaporates. [source]

I like it, but watching Blade, and other lolcows for that matter (Rekieta, Jer, Styx), puts me off.

You may want to avail yourself of one of the Highlander Cows like DSP, Chris Chan, Ethan Ralph or Metokur. They appear to be unkillable via conventional means.

Similar Powerlevel. No we cannot "diagnose" Sepsis in the field without bloodwork. But fairly advanced Sepsis looks distinct enough that you will rarely mistake it for anything else. Except maybe some African Hemoragic Fever. There is so much sweat rolling off them. They are typically a bit delirious. Their skin has a pallor often yellow tinged that you just don't get from anything else. And in cases like Blade here where there is a rotting gangrenous extremity you get hit with the smell.

Could EMS be wrong? Sure. Are they wrong? Oh fuck no. We've been watching it develop for awhile now. Is he in full blown "Septic Shock" yet where his organs are dying, his vitals crashing and his heart and brain are being starved for oxygen? Probably not quite yet. But he's getting there.
 
Every time he just streams like nothing happens in the morning I'm surprised. EMT/Hospital staff were talking about insane blood pressure levels, sepsis, and commenting on the smell of his rotting leg. Every time I'm shocked that he just hoofs it off in the morning

Anybody who has been to the hospital for an infection will tell you to get wm accurate procolactin test takes 48 hours. They take those tests and keep you to monitor to make sure. The doctors literally want to care for him, that's why they became doctors but no one can force blade to stay in the hospital.

Blade feels like shit because he has an infection. He is likely experiencing chills, nausea, sweating but is writing it off as a Jaeger after effect. He tells us this much in his own stream.

He is an absolute idiot. He is 100% streaming his final days. He is pale, bloated and his foot is fucking turning black. The obvious outcome in the next 7 days is a collapse on stream and hospitalization for weeks or death.

I would have to imagine he wouldn't be up and about and doing his usual antics if he was in septic shock. I am skeptical that he actually had sepsis last night for the same reason. I mean I'm not a doctor or EMS, but. It doesn't seem like something you just walk off within a few hours.
