Given that Imu has a personal enmity/fear of the D i can see that he pulled Rank on The Elder Stars and they pulled Rank on the Marines to execute Ace publicly.
It was an L for Luffy but from a watching perspective it became clear pretty quickly that they weren't actually being killed. So it was clearly going to be all for the best. Ace dying wasn't for the best- Luffy lost.
i think we are building up to something along those lines. luffy already beat kizaru so i think its only a matter of time before he has another run in with akainu. plus i could see him fighting kuzan as well. but as far as imu i dont even think vivi needs to be involved at this point. if you told luffy that imu is the source of most if not all of his friends misfortunes in one way or another that would be enough to do it. if not that with what we know about shanks now and whats going on in elbaf i feel like luffy has more than enough reason to fight imu.
this is exactly why im thinking he might know a way to save all the giants being controlled by imu. if i remember right some forms of haki are connected to the users soul. so the stronger their soul is the stronger their haki is. so in theory if brook could use his music to power up the giants souls they might become strong enough to fight back against imus control.
Given that Imu seems to want to prevent people from reaching laugh tale and is willing to use violent means to prevent it Imu is going to go after Luffy personally at some point. So regardless what Luffy feels Imu will force the issue.
about everything here is pretty much the same criticisms aimed at most shounen due to their publication and the nature of being pushed to be more exciting for readers. Not gonna act like OP doesn't have some of these issues but I personally can't treat these as if they are exclusively One Piece's issues.
That's always the thing when i see people complain about specifically the pacing they are almost always anime watchers and usually yeah the anime to most manga has this issue as events in the manga are a lot quicker.
This is like complaining about sports stories being about competition. It is what they are!
I feel the same way about stuff like fan service. I get people are annoyed but these are things that have been a part of manga and anime specifically this genre which is aimed at teens and young adult men. It's crazy how we have to see the same kinds of people complain about the same things over and over and over again and you get to the point where it's like just go read something else if it is that much of a problem for you.
They complain about sexualizing little girls. These are aimed at TEENAGERS! They are the same age as those girls! You might be a creepy weirdo in his 30s but they are not aimed at you! You just happen to read it! The high school girl character in a skirt is meant for the high school boy reader! Fuck's sake!
It depends on what constitutes a country in the OP world. For all we know, Syrup Village was part of larger country.
