ah ha
so by the time the SH or whoever get to Laugh Tale and finally see everything a lot or at least most of the defining questions will be answered
Yes…and no? The way I see it, Oda has been sprinkling things about the bigger issues and mysteries surrounding everything (the great kingdom, Joy Boy, Imu, “D”, the WG suppressing things), but the thing is this:
Oden’s flashback mentioned how many truths were found/learned at the same time. And Joy Boy left behind the treasure Roger found. And Vegapunk’s broadcast and the fight against the Gorosei on Egghead was our most comprehensive examination of Joy Boy since we learned of him at Fishman Island.
But here’s the thing: Luffy has the power of Joy Boy, and it’s prophecy that somebody will come to do many things like challenge the world to a fight, fulfill the promise Joy Boy made to Fishman Island surrounding Noah, and be the one Roger is waiting for. And it looks increasingly like that person is…Luffy.
There may be hints of things talked about, but Oda has set it up that things won’t be revealed until Luffy factors in. Robin asks who Joy Boy is at Fishman Island, then it turns out Joy Boy is Luffy in Gear 5. Franky sees a mural, we don’t know what any of it means, except that it shows Nika leading a force against a giant monster. So we have to wait until Luffy has a reason to lead that force, except he’s a simple man who doesn’t care for things like prophecy.
You can talk about things like three worlds and how there was an ancient war involving ancient weapons, but every passing arc shows how everything is connected. And Oda’s writing things so we learn things at about the same rate as the Straw Hats. So we’re only going to learn HOW these things are connected in the event the Straw Hats get to Laugh Tale, and by extension Luffy getting his hands on the treasure.
In short, no matter how much we see about the big questions, they’re not going to be completely answered until a very specific time because Luffy is the key to all of it, and there’s no way to tell the exact role he’s going to play because good luck trying to get him to go along with a plan that isn’t his.
