Finally something Anime and Null can Agree on, Journalists are Scum.

So Kuma must've been a slave and was being beaten near to death by his fellow slaves over being too much of a fat-ass to escape. Holy shit I really don't know if my heart's ready for this.

>Wapol and Vivi "working" with Morgans
>Rebel Sentomaru
>First glimpses of Kuma's backstory

Yeaaaaaaaah
It looks to me like the memories are from Kuma when he was a slave of the Celestial Dragons. The architecture in one panel is similar to that of previous depictions of Mary Geoise and another image featured two darkened silhouettes with one of them looking similar to members of the Rosward Family.

Just a guess but Kuma was a slave at a much younger age and removed his own memories and even offered to become an emotionless weapon to escape from the mental anguish of such an ordeal. Despite his successful escape, he still wound up a slave of Celestial Dragons again with the Rosward family continually renting him. It really puts those scenes of Kuma as a slave into a new perspective...

That would be fucked up.

I give it a 50/50 shot of being true, with the other 50% being something even more fucked up.

If we're going to learn more about the former Seven Warlords, Mihawk better have a more fucked up backstory than Kuma's, 'cause I sure wasn't expecting it to get this depressing.

*Crosses arms*

Motherfucker have you been paying attention, someday we are gonna find out Lucci's mom was a Whore who died of ass cancer and left him as an orphan.
Yeah yeah, everyone in OP has a tragic backstory, but every new backstory keeps getting more and more depressing it feels like. I just wasn't prepared for these sudden feels for this one character.

Good lord, I can't wait for the backstory about what happened when the revolutionary army attacked. Looks like Kuma might die at this arc, and Morgan will do anything for a story like go against the WG, but then pay them back. He's becoming a good chatacter.

Very nice chapter with some decent comedy bits mixed in there as ever.

Nami lining up to put the boot into the unconscious Lucci while Robin watches.

Zorro having the usual abuse of him as not fit to be allowed out alone by Sanji backed up by Chopper and Robin. I'm impressed he wasn't sulking afterwards.

On a less light note given where Kuma is and the stuff in his flashback I suspect he's either going to where his fellow captives were or to the mass grave where they got culled for him getting away.

With all the other stuff, I think we missed the best joke in the chapter

Zoro : "I will Help search."
The entire rest of the crew : "NOPE"

Honestly Zoro getting lost jokes never get old
Okay so I saw a theory on a message board a while ago, that Zoro gets lost so often because he does his best to avoid stairs when possible so he always looks for another route when stairs show up. Now that would be really stupid in the best way, and seems outlandish...but remember that Senior Pink happened and was the best part of the Storyarc.

Counterpoint: In Alabasta when told to look north for the bomb, he went inside the clock tower, upstairs.

I posted about it two above yours :)

Yeah, the fact that even Chopper is willing to get in on the joke at this point shows that Zoro is only barely better than Luffy when it comes to being allowed out on his own. I'm reminded of the Gold movie where the rest of the crew confirmed the entire heist plan relied on Luffy not being told it because he would only have messed it up. And given Zoro was a statue at that point were he not he would likely have been kept as ignorant.

I am almost certain Oda is going to make Zoro's navigation failures a plot point before the manga is over.

Counter-counterpoint: We never saw him walk any of those stairs. He could've parkoured.
zolo does nawt parkour
he cuts the building down and walks through the window now at ground level:

I just want the South Bird to make a comeback for one last hurrah.

we saw it right after the timeskip
it bred with a north bird and sired east and west birds
and that family probably killed bellamy's crew
