I’ve heard a Davy Back Fight would be the thing that Luffy and Shanks would do. With the prize being the right to go to Laugh Tale to claim The One Piece. Honestly, if the final war is settled before the treasure is found (which I doubt is gonna happen, but Oda loves to make predictors and speculators look like morons), then a Davy Back Fight seems like a good way to settle things.

That would honestly make the most sense since there is zero hostility between Luffy and Shanks and those two doofballs settling ownership rights to the One Piece™ with some shit like the most intense game of beer pong ever played would be completely in character.
Got the feeling that it would end that way since the one who will even reach the island will be the strongest in the world and then crowned the strongest of the world. Also gotta think that before all that goes down there's gonna be an extremely big battle against the WG/Navy to get them out of the way now that we know figures like Imu are pulling strings.
I can’t see what twist could be at play, especially considering that Imu killed Cobra, attacked Sabo, and wants Vivi to be captured and brought to Imu, so Luffy has more than enough reason to completely go in and wreck shit.
Oh make no mistake. Just because i think our view on Imu will change does not mean Luffy won’t wreck his shit first.

Imu is way too thin to be Roger, and Joy Boy is dead, even though Imu can recognize Joy Boy’s Haki as that of Joy Boy, rather than Imu’s own Haki if Imu was Joy Boy.
I can get behind that. I can easily see Vivi being captured as a bargaining chip to get something from Luffy, Blackbeard, or some other pirate gunning for Laugh Tale.
i would rather a fight between luffy and shanks personally. the davey back fight would be more interesting with blackbeard and his crew. obviously it would turn into a real fight in the end but the idea of blackbeard and company losing would really showcase how far luffy and the rest of his crew has come.
my guess is either imu is being manipulated by the real final villain or imu will get absorbed by a half dead blackbeard.
What “real final villain” could be manipulating Imu? At that point, you’re just setting things up for a conga line of ass pulls and increasingly more OP villains, like what happened with Naruto.
Kirin is a Mythical Zoan. They are supposed to be OP. And the thorns are strong too. As for Loki, the attack was from a God's Knight and was meant to be lethal. Due to his DF, Loki had no access to his haki and had to take on a three stabbing swords from a powerful opponent. It is a miracle he is alive.
Not only that, the God's Knights relized that the Straw Hats are around. So we're probably going to have a scene where Luffy saves the kids in Gear 5.

i would say something like imus devil fruit. imu the person is just being controlled by the will of the fruit. if i wanted to make it into naruto level nonsense i would have some random guy show up who ate the fruit- fruit fruit and he created all the devil fruits.

I’m not too sure if that’s in the realm of “devil fruits having a mind of their own”. The most we’ve gotten in that regard is Luffy’s fruit staying out of the grasp of the Gorosei. And even then, Luffy ate it without knowing what it is.
he most likely allowed mother caramel to operate her orphanage knowing full well it was a trap. its also possible he died because of her. gotta remember she had the soul soul fruit so its possible harold had his lifespan reduced multiple times until he finally died and loki just happened to be in the room.
