Okay, so I have some thoughts on Film Red. Sorry if it isn't cohesive.

I liked it. My favourite aspect was the songs and Ado has an amazing voice. Uta was quite creepy as well with her idealistic fantasy world. I also liked how Brulee and Blueno were utilised especially the latter seeing how I thought he was the least interesting out of the CP9 agents at Enies Lobby. The final fight was great too, I loved seeing Usopp and Yasopp interacting across the two worlds as well as Koby taking charge in formation.

I think Uta's past was the weakest part of the film and there were quite a lot of twists that made it slightly convoluted. I also thought Kalifa's presence was disappointing since she didn't really do anything noteworthy.

Overall, I will say that Uta was a better villain than Tesoro and Bullet. The cinematic experience was really fun and I actually made friends.

ps, Film Z is the best post-ts film.

Found my new favorite comment chain.

My nephew wanted to watch the red movie so I had to bite the bullet and take him because his parents couldn't do so. No joke, we left after Uta started to do those autistic cringe anime "crazy" faces because of how fucking stupid the movie was up until that point. I was also wondering why the songs were particularly pedantic, lame and the singer couldn't sing for shit. Oh, what do you know! it's the same autismo that made this:

Couldn't even squeeze a cool gear 5 transformation scene in it. How embarrassing.

Oh, you mean that pathetic ass 3 second shot of him just being on gear 5 already? Forgive me for forgetting something so underwhelming. He didn't even grow and had the weird gooey white look like in the comic.
I think I read somewhere (no source so probably speculation) that was thrown in during post-production or right before release after it came out during the fight with Kaido.

I can see that (Film: Gold must've lucked out in that regard, then, as Boundman was introduced in the anime early-2016). It's just getting mad at Toei for putting in pandering moments like that is silly, they've done this shit for years. It's not how I want the first animated appearance of Fifth Gear to go, either, but it was smart of the movie to not make a spectacle out of it.

Wait, that's it? LMAO

Hearing that almost fucking kills me. But it won't.

I haven't seen the movie yet, but it seems people treat Uta as official because of her flashback and silhouettes in the manga, and that Demon King of Songs as being unrelated to Uta's power and just being real instead of a DF power for once. Is any of that actually true or not? Also they could've at least tried to make this movie fit with post-Wano by not having Bib Mom around.

Also:
You've been warned, faggot.

Tot Musica is a separate entity for sure, but it relies on the user of the Song-Song Fruit to come to fruition.

But as for Uta being canon, it's still contested. I just find it interesting that Oda didn't seem to care much about past film characters (Zephyr and Gild Tesoro and his cronies got cover pages for advertisement), yet drew her out a lot kinda like with Shiki who is canon. There's a comment he made in an interview (can't find it, the OP wiki cited it) where he consciously went with a female star just to break the mold of the movies where, typically, the movie star is a man.

New chapter.

The movie probably started production around the time Wano act 3 kicked off in the manga.

If this also holds true for the manga, I can only hope that it means DFs have ties to actual devils instead of just being some ancient super science thing what with how much they're trying to relate DFs with lineage factors as of late rather than something more mystical.

Seems like he has no love for Z which is a shame since even though his movie was a bit meh, it was nice to have some old mentor that gave all the marines, even the most ruthless ones, a sentimental trait and attachment.

And now we know why Oda Gave Robin the Ability to make Giant Copies of her self with the Flower Flower Fruit...

SO SHE CAN FUCKING GIVE SAUL A PROPER GIANT HUG

Interesting note from a plot dump of a chapter apparently Vegapunk and Dragon had an "end goal" that predated the Revolutionary Army.

Akainu did nothing wrong and the WG deserve everything that’s coming to them for not Akainuing hard enough.

Seriously all their problems are causd because they try to be diplomatic for the longest time and let obvious issues fester.
