I can't for the life of me figure out what we are getting if there is a 4 aside from maybe Moana? They won't do Wish because its a flop. Turning Red is a maybe. They haven't really done any original stuff because they seem to be focusing on endless live action remakes.
Theres a ton of untouched pixar and disney stuff, it doesn't need to be an ad for new stuff

I think people's ability to get hyped KH4 does suffer because there's the expectation Disney will want Square to stick worlds from more recent movies in the game, but almost all the newer Disney and Pixar movies suck. Plus a lot of them are feelingslop that don't work well for a fantasy action story. Like are we expected to think something like Turning Red would make for a good setting for Sora to run around and fight Heartless in compared to all the older Disney movies that were based on fairy tales and mythology?

I would expect more random choices given Quadratum is "fiction". Star Wars, Zootopia. Things like that. Movies like Turning Red, Soul or Luca might have references but their plots simply aren't meaty enough to make an entire world out of.

I still haven't played Dream Drop Distance or 3. Bummed that Maleficent got shafted. Would she return for 4?

Also random but I gotta give props to Jodi Benson, Tate Donovan, James Woods, Kevin McNally, and Susan Egan. They have played their signature Disney character in so many things. Kevin in particular seems to love it because he's been in everything as his Pirates character. That's commitment.

Raya and the Last Dragon and Coco
Also potentially revisiting Wreck it Ralph

I'd love a Star Wars thing fighting Heartless Stormtroopers and with a sick lightsaber keyblade as a reward. God knows 90% of the dialogue could be easily recycled, just swap out "Dark Side" for "Darkness". So too could the plot. "Somehow, Xehanort returned."

I mean Darkness literally functions the same, red-gold eyes and all

I'm calling it now, and no, no one has ever speculated this.

Master of Masters is time traveling older Sora trying to undo the reason he had to time travel, his mannerisms and turns of phrases are too similar to our boy.
I had a similar thought during the secret ending of 3 where you can actually see the bottom half of MoM's face. His chin looked eerily similar to Sora's, which is also how the final trailer for Days hid a spoiler in plain sight.

my reasonings are his turn of phrases and attitude, despite being, overall, the most antagonistic and machavellian force in the entire series, his motives are pretty high minded, he wants to defeat Darkness as a concept.

despite his motives and means, he's very friendly and goofy, he does the same "hands behind his head" motions Sora often does, and he quite literally qoutes Sora despite there being absolutely no way he should know that qoute, since all his "No Name" keyblade shenanigan's would allow is for him to see events it saw, which did not cover Sora saying.
Also the Foretellers are all weird allusions to the modern cast, both MoM and Sora have a weirdly upbeat Fatalistic worldview, both wielded the X-Blade and closed kingdom hearts.. there's a ton of other connections to make these characters essentially a venn diagram overlap.

Yeah, and plenty of the Dark Side experiments the Sith, including Palpatine, ran are no different from the shit Ansem/Xemnas/Xehanort/whatever the fuck is villain is calling himself these days did.

Why they havent put Treasure Planet as a world in KH is crazy.

MoM being a Sora who time travel wouldnt be that far off and would kinda make sense considering he and sora behave eerily similar. At one point i just brushed it up as just coincidence and following a character archetype, but now that you bring it up, it makes sense.

Following this line of logic MoM would be a future Sora where everything went to complete shit and swallowed by darkness and in a last ditch effort he time travel back in time to create the keyblade avengers(Masters) to fight the impending darkness. Wouldnt surprise me if he created the old masters in the visage of his friends(riku, kairi, terra aqua etc) just to have familiarity which would explain why their faces are covered. Would be a cool twist if this is what nomura is cooking. Hell i think he could be a Sora from the time everyone died in KH3 and he survived and thus went kinda batshit crazy from grief and decided to create a convoluted plan to take out Darkness as a concept

I've heard the Sora is MOM theories plenty of times and I never bought it for a second.
Perfectly logical conclusion to make on a superficial level, but there's too much about this guy that doesn't add up.

The main problem with the MOM being Sora in my eyes is how he acts. He is extremely manipulative and knows how to get people to trust him by "acting" like he cares. By "acting" like he's a jovial friendly person. But he came across to me as genuinely hollow and heartless like the Nobody's were initially presented in 2 ( Never bought that shit by the way, they almost all acted like they had real emotions) I don't think he's entirely incapable of feeling, but he seems very goal minded.

The MOM to me feels like someone who is intentionally trying to spice up every conversation because there's not much he really gives a shit about. Like he has an internal script of how human beings should behave and react to him. He Plays it up and ad-libs, but every now and then you see tiny bits of frustration he quickly hides with humor when someone goes off it. He can wait, he's got nothing but time, but he never likes being derailed. He's just too dam cold and calculating to be like Sora with that kind of personality. Even with a few screws loose, which he certainly does, according to his theme.

I won't deny the possibility he could be related to Sora but he's not the focal point. The MOM has to be someone or something else. especially when you factor in his history with the darkness and the way he describes his past to Luxu. The way he describes and even talks to it doesn't line up with Sora's experiences. He talks with the darkness like it's an old rival or kindred spirit. The more I think about it, the more I realize revenge is nowhere near his actual goal. Killing darkness may very well be a byproduct of what he actually wants.

I actually think Sora has more of a connection with whoever luxu is funny enough. he's got a child like desire to save everyone and fits the bill but is trusting enough of the MOM to go with his plan. There's enough recent confusion over him sharing a face with Brain, that I have a theory that someone else might have stolen his identity and pretended to be luxu pretending to be braig.

3 is a pretty good now with the remind DLC. It has some flaws but it's a decent package. Dream drop has a good story but I didn't like the dream eaters very much, also it give the impression of a different direction they were going for then what actually happened with 3

I have no doubt they'll bring back maleficent and give her arc a proper final.

It is hard to top KH1 Ansem final boss theme though
I've always been partial to lingering Will. But when they combined all the ansem villain themes in three that was awesome.

Probably my favorite moment in 3 until remind.

Wouldnt surprise me if the identity of MoM remains a secret after the story is over. Nomura has a gold trove with the character if he plays it right for KH4 or beyond.

Also question for the kiwis:

Whats your favorite keyblade?
Mine is the Oathkeeper. The design just clicks with me and has a cool little detail with the kanji for light 光 being resembled in the keyblade. I remember doing a modded run where i used Oathkeeper in kh2.

Whats your favorite keyblade
I like all the sentimental/important ones such as Rikus first real one, Kingdom Key and Kingdom Key D, Oathkeeper and Oblivion.

I like the trippy moment where Terra Aqua and Ventus pick up and wield ancient versions of the aforementioned keyblades, its never really explained why such important blades are old and busted in the keyblade graveyard either

Funnily enough. Zootopia and early MCU are probably the only things that came out since KH3 was announced that would be good for KH4. I personally want a Robin Hood and Chip n Dale (seriously the gummi ship mechanics need their tv show's world eventually) level though. Star Wars would be but not anything by Disney. I will say, at least the early MCU and Zootopia were good movies and they have action.

Please, no. Not another furry Sora...
The original concept art of Sora was already a furry. The only thing is, if they do make it, he has to be a lion which would be interesting in Robin Hood since lions are the villains in that movie. As his furry form should always harken back to his original form. If they make either of those two worlds, they better make him a lion. Also, we haven't really had a furry Sora world yet, Monster's Inc doesn't count, he's covered in fur (despite anatomically cleary being a fish monster), but he's not really a furry. He looks a lot like Randall with less arms tbh. Similarly Lion King furries (especially the feral lion king furries) are niche enough I'd not consider that furry so much as lion king fandom. Plus if simply having talking anthropomorphic characters is furry, then all of the games feature Donald and Goofy, so you already have furries following you everywhere you go so what's one more?

Nah I think Nomura realizes it's been too long and will actually clear up his arc in this game. The only problem is missing link got cancelled so that needs to filled out somehow to give context to stuff happening behind the scenes in 4. I figure there's only one or two more games before Nomura hands off the reigns.

There's actually is a pre existing kh character who acts a lot like the MOM.

. Demyx. His hand motions are practically identical in remind, among other tells setting up his role. However I don't think he's anything but a living set of eyes and ears for the real MOM. The box isn't his only contingency.

Oblivion is pretty standard but it is my favorite.
