There's so much news about North Korea right now and what Un is doing, I got a suggestion for a NK megathread, so here it is. Post the world's greatest nation's antics here. I'm merging a few of the more recent threads to continue discussion.

South Korean President Moon Jae-in has pushed for a new plan for a rapid war with North Korea and an overhaul of the country's defense industry to overwhelm and crush the North's government, the South Korean newspaper The Chosun Ilbo reported Tuesday.

Moon took office in May promising to attempt to engage diplomatically with North Korea and seek peace, but in the months since, the North has provoked the international community with missile tests at a blistering pace.

For some time, South Korea has been training a "decapitation force," reportedly with the help of the US Navy's SEAL Team 6, but now an increasingly bold North Korea may demand quicker action.

South Korea's new plan identifies more than 1,000 targets for precision missile fires and sites for marines to drop in and quickly kill North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, the paper reported.

The plan represents a more independent version of South Korea's current plan, which relies on support from US aircraft carriers. As it stands, no major military commander recommends military action against North Korea, which has a staggering array of conventional — and potentially nuclear — weapons pointed at Seoul, where 26 million call home.

But South Korea's new plan to quickly and decisively dominate the North relies on reforming the defense-acquisition process and cutting out wasteful spending to wield the full might of its economic dominance against Pyongyang, according to the report. For that reason, don't expect the plan to take effect anytime soon.

Can't believe it's actually happening. If Trump nails this 2020 is in the bag for him.

On a different note, can anybody imagine Hillary in this position?

God the analysts are going fucking nuts on the BBC.

Sounds more entertaining than this white bread live-stream. They're more-or-less just stumbling over their words and trying to figure out what to talk about because they still can't believe this is happening. I'm kinda tuning these hosts out since they're bringing nothing new to the table.

I’ll admit, one of the reasons I was skeptical of Trump initially because I thought that he’d escalate tensions with North Korea. Even though I did end up voting for him, there was always this lingering doubt in my mind that his brash demeanor would cause problems in regards to international relations.

Almost never have I ever been happier in my life to be proven wrong.

Yeah they're just talking about what's going to happen, analysing body language, discussing possible future developments, etc here.

The main presenter seriously sounds like she's about to burst into tears though.

Switched to the CBS live-stream, and currently Trump and Kim are out and going into another room or just out for a walk or something. Things are still going smoothly.

It's really charming to watch the two walk side-by-side like that.

EDIT: They're talking now. Don't know what Kim's saying, though, the translator's still listening.

I heard Trump say the word "unable." He also said "continue to" at a later point. I don't like the sound of that...

EDIT: Please note that I've also been drinking. I'm fairly sure I did year "unable," however.

The stuff they’ve shown in terms of dialogue has been fairly generic “It’s been a long journey but we’re gonna try and work things out” spiel so far. More interested in what’s going on in those unvideod meetings.

It’s weird, though. I don’t think I’ve ever heard Kim Jong Un speak. He’s got a surprisingly deep voice. On top of that, this is the first time I’ve seen him smiling when talking to a foreign figure.

I guess that's the face you make when you realize that nothing your entire news network did managed to put a dent in this meeting, and now a retired basketball star in a MAGA hat is lecturing you on North Korean negotiations, and he knows more than your "experts" on top of that.

I heard him say “We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children.”

Definitely raises some eyebrows

Think about it like this: Do you really think the North Koreans blew up their research facility, allowed the foreign press to attend that destruction, released all our prisoners, started to kick off peace agreements with South Korea, and offered to completely denuclearize their entire state just to secure a single meeting for a single day, which is allegedly the same day they're planning to hammer out a deal to a decades-long problem in the span of a few hours?

Does that even sound right or do you think it's more likely that something was actually hashed out a long time ago?

And the coke using Rodman gets the last laugh. Think about that.

To be fair I haven't been following events closely. I thought this whole meeting was called off over a month ago because of naval practices.
