There's so much news about North Korea right now and what Un is doing, I got a suggestion for a NK megathread, so here it is. Post the world's greatest nation's antics here. I'm merging a few of the more recent threads to continue discussion.

South Korean President Moon Jae-in has pushed for a new plan for a rapid war with North Korea and an overhaul of the country's defense industry to overwhelm and crush the North's government, the South Korean newspaper The Chosun Ilbo reported Tuesday.

Moon took office in May promising to attempt to engage diplomatically with North Korea and seek peace, but in the months since, the North has provoked the international community with missile tests at a blistering pace.

For some time, South Korea has been training a "decapitation force," reportedly with the help of the US Navy's SEAL Team 6, but now an increasingly bold North Korea may demand quicker action.

South Korea's new plan identifies more than 1,000 targets for precision missile fires and sites for marines to drop in and quickly kill North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, the paper reported.

The plan represents a more independent version of South Korea's current plan, which relies on support from US aircraft carriers. As it stands, no major military commander recommends military action against North Korea, which has a staggering array of conventional — and potentially nuclear — weapons pointed at Seoul, where 26 million call home.

But South Korea's new plan to quickly and decisively dominate the North relies on reforming the defense-acquisition process and cutting out wasteful spending to wield the full might of its economic dominance against Pyongyang, according to the report. For that reason, don't expect the plan to take effect anytime soon.

I seriously doubt he's gonna be able to hit the east coast. The estimated range of his missiles is about 6,000 miles, while the rough distance between NK and Caliland is 9,000.

Can't say however that I'd be unhappy if he hit Sisco.

Thing is, Kim's making these wild claims that he can easilly bomb New York or even somewhere further, like the UK or even parts of Europe. Which I honestly think is a load of bullshit, despite the recent successes he and the Norks have had with their missiles as of late distance-wise.

I guess we'll just have to see how this pans out. Hope they blast somewhere soon though, so that the Norks can finally have their shit forcefully put together.

I can't concentrate on the North Korean crisis because Dear Leader is just so damn sexy. Damn, I got to get me some of that.

The problem with that is a simple one- The Norks hide their missiles and nukes. Not to mention all the chemical bombs or the Supervolcano.

It's not as easy as it seems.
No, I mean, when you go out of your way to drop graphite bombs on power stations to render them inoperable, you might as well just drop a regular bomb instead of some fancypants graphite bomb.

Given how shitty the Nork infrastructure actually is, I have little reason to doubt that the military is not going to rely on it anyway... though the (very few) production facilities would suffer.

I think most of their country is not really electrified. Bombs filled with glue to clog up WW2 era geared machinery may be more useful....

How big is the AOE of these graphite bombs? A few square miles? I doubt they could take out all the hidden military stashes Kimmy and his ancestry must have stored all over the place like a Squirrel from their cartoons hoarding grenades.

I would not even be surprised if some factories were running on gasoline.... and most of the electric stuff like nuke research would be in deep, deep bunkers.
