There's so much news about North Korea right now and what Un is doing, I got a suggestion for a NK megathread, so here it is. Post the world's greatest nation's antics here. I'm merging a few of the more recent threads to continue discussion.

South Korean President Moon Jae-in has pushed for a new plan for a rapid war with North Korea and an overhaul of the country's defense industry to overwhelm and crush the North's government, the South Korean newspaper The Chosun Ilbo reported Tuesday.

Moon took office in May promising to attempt to engage diplomatically with North Korea and seek peace, but in the months since, the North has provoked the international community with missile tests at a blistering pace.

For some time, South Korea has been training a "decapitation force," reportedly with the help of the US Navy's SEAL Team 6, but now an increasingly bold North Korea may demand quicker action.

South Korea's new plan identifies more than 1,000 targets for precision missile fires and sites for marines to drop in and quickly kill North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, the paper reported.

The plan represents a more independent version of South Korea's current plan, which relies on support from US aircraft carriers. As it stands, no major military commander recommends military action against North Korea, which has a staggering array of conventional — and potentially nuclear — weapons pointed at Seoul, where 26 million call home.

But South Korea's new plan to quickly and decisively dominate the North relies on reforming the defense-acquisition process and cutting out wasteful spending to wield the full might of its economic dominance against Pyongyang, according to the report. For that reason, don't expect the plan to take effect anytime soon.

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has delivered an unusual address in person to respond to U.S. President Donald Trump's speech at the United Nations, where Trump threatened to "totally destroy" North Korea if it posed a direct threat to the U.S. or its allies. Below is a full transcript, as provided by state-run media.

"The speech made by the U.S. president in his maiden address on the UN arena in the prevailing serious circumstances, in which the situation on the Korean peninsula has been rendered tense as never before and is inching closer to a touch-and-go state, is arousing worldwide concern.

Shaping the general idea of what he would say, I expected he would make stereo-typed, prepared remarks a little different from what he used to utter in his office on the spur of the moment as he had to speak on the world's biggest official diplomatic stage.

But, far from making remarks of any persuasive power that can be viewed to be helpful to defusing tension, he made unprecedented rude nonsense one has never heard from any of his predecessors.

A frightened dog barks louder.

I'd like to advise Trump to exercise prudence in selecting words and to be considerate of whom he speaks to when making a speech in front of the world.

The mentally deranged behavior of the U.S. president openly expressing on the UN arena the unethical will to "totally destroy" a sovereign state, beyond the boundary of threats of regime change or overturn of social system, makes even those with normal thinking faculty think about discretion and composure.

His remarks remind me of such words as "political layman" and "political heretic" which were in vogue in reference to Trump during his presidential election campaign.

After taking office Trump has rendered the world restless through threats and blackmail against all countries in the world. He is unfit to hold the prerogative of supreme command of a country, and he is surely a rogue and a gangster fond of playing with fire, rather than a politician.

His remarks which described the U.S. option through straightforward expression of his will have convinced me, rather than frightening or stopping me, that the path I chose is correct and that it is the one I have to follow to the last.

Now that Trump has denied the existence of and insulted me and my country in front of the eyes of the world and made the most ferocious declaration of a war in history that he would destroy the DPRK, we will consider with seriousness exercising of a corresponding, highest level of hard-line countermeasure in history.

Action is the best option in treating the dotard who, hard of hearing, is uttering only what he wants to say.

As a man representing the DPRK and on behalf of the dignity and honor of my state and people on my own, I will make the man holding the prerogative of the supreme command in the U.S. pay dearly for his speech calling for totally destroying the DPRK.

This is not a rhetorical expression loved by Trump.

I am now thinking hard about what response he could have expected when he allowed such eccentric words to trip off his tongue.

Whatever Trump might have expected, he will face results beyond his expectation.

I will surely and definitely tame the mentally deranged U.S. dotard with fire."

That sure is a long-winded way of saying "I want to get killed".

Kim Jong Un : "Dotard" takes off

Never mind the pedo sex squads, no reason murders and human rights injustices, coz Nork Psy called Orange Hitler a dotard. That makes him A OK!

The west is so disconnected from reality it's fucking amazing.

I haven't read the actual Korean version yet of what he said, but I'm curious what he actual called him pretranslation.

^
Kim Jong Un’s officials plucked teenage girls from North Korean schools to serve as the leader’s sex slaves,
This is common knowledge, the Kim family has a entire battalion of teenage girls who fuck them.

I just read the actual statement that was released, pre state media translation and it was a bit different, but he
did call him an old bully, a madman and someone who doesn't understand their words/talks crazy - which is besides the point, because dotard is a great word, nice translation job.

More importantly, the actual statement was more focused on how KJU feels "bullied" by Trump - but not just Trump, but Trump being the face of the rest of the world.
KJU feels that he and his republic are being bullied by Trump/World and that his authority has been disrespected by Trump and for the dignity and honour of North Korea, he must provoke Trump to war.
He also accuses Trump of ruining NK, "plunging the world into darkness" and not being a politician, but a crazed bully.

Most telling though, is this - he seems to be mostly pissed, because Trump's threats have upset the North Korean people and made THEM feel restless towards him, questioning the regime and loyalty to KJU.
Because of this, he feels justified in bombing whoever he wants to bomb, because he believes that to be the answer to his people's disquiet.

Which when you boil it down, is exactly his problem - the people aren't pleased with him and he doesn't like that, so someone must pay. I mean, seriously, this guy is the most cliche of Asian cliches ever.

I know it wouldn't serve the western media's "Trump is Hitler" narrative to print a raw translation of what KJU said, but it makes the reasons more clearer - fatboy's ass mad that Daddy Trump cut his aide lifeline, his people are getting sick of him and he'll smash his room up until you give him what he wants.

Following the release of the statement, Merriam-Webster said online that searches for the definition of the word dotard are "high as a kite." According to Merriam-Webster, a dotard describes a person who is in a state of "senile decay marked by decline of mental poise and alertness."
