LOL! Memnon would still be a White demigod leading a Black army to help his uncle Priam. His father was a Trojan royal.

Yes, but just by being the King of Ethiopia, he's still made black on pots and things like that. I'd really prefer they did that again to whatever the hell this is. And the noble people of Wilusa were American Census White but probably had a Near Eastern appearance and they could have also cast Near Eastern actors for Diversity to play Trojans and actually been historically accurate.

Idk if this will have negative repercussions for Nolan but that would be good.

I was thinking about this, too. Why not cast actors who look Mediterranean and say they are correcting thousands of years of the descendants of the barbarians portraying all Greeks and Romans as Nordic-ass looking people?

At least. But they're still distracting like the obviously Italian German soldiers were in Ilsa: She-Wolf of the SS. They used to do this in the 2000s and 2010s before the wokery we're experiencing now took the wheel: putting a painfully out of place extra or two in the shot and linger on them. Remember this woman from Desolation of Smaug?

They also could have had minority actors in Tolkien and stuck to lore by making them Haradrim characters, and we could have found out what actually happened to the Blue Wizards who fucked off into oblivion but Hollywood would rather do… what they do.

It's weird at least to me that Nolan of all people would take this DEI route not only his past work contains mostly white actors, like in Following, but also because before all of this, he actively avoided talking politics. He dodged talking about sexism in Hollywood in this interview.

This is an unpopular opinion, but he might have been strangled into making this film, despite his past successes and popularity in Hollywood. Or he might have pidgeonholed himself and said "fuck it" and stopped with all the rule-making he tried to do. It took him ten years to formulate the ruleset for Inception. It took twenty years to make the concept for Tenet. He says this film was the film he dreamed of doing, but something tells me he's not being honest. He was supposed to do a The Prisoner remake, but where did that go?

Go make a African mythological epic if you really wanted to. You have the power and the money to.

Since there is no great epic from Africa you can pretty much go full fantasy mode. Niggeratidomus and his humble band ascend Mount Kilimanjaro and slay the deathless dragon king setting the world free of the domination of the dinosaurs or some shit.

you cannot convince anyone with sense a people who couldn't even invent the wheel were the true progenitors of civilization

"Ackchually they CHOSE not to invent it because they were aware of the future environmental consequences."

Actually, science is culturally biased against africans because it can't explain how an african witch doctor is able to summon lightning:

Hollywood gave us a Race War in the Shire where all the Nigger Hobbits were slaughtered by the Brandybucks and the Tooks

I remember there is some saga on a trickster demi god and is elongated penis, would probably be more entertaining than this shit.

African Americans in general have no history. Every lore from slavery times was removed. They are 1/4 white, and the black 3/4 are from people who sold them to be abused.

A movie about long dick gods from cultures all over the world would be disturbing but more entertaining than what Hollywood is shitting out. Avengers Dongsday, Multidick for Cockness... :lit:

But there is most likely already a manga about that.

And let's be honest, Ellen Page's mutilated zippertits and mutated body in a movie are also disturbing and Nolan hired Travis Scott who is partly responsible for the Astroworld deaths.

In the time it took to make Nolan's Odyssey, he could have made Nolan's Zulu. It has all the things BLM love: mostly African-looking cast, lots of kill Whitey moments, running.
No because Nolan said he has been dreaming of making shitting up the Odyssey for 20 years.

It took him 20 years to push out this giant turd.

I might as well go on a little Nolan rant:

I think he is the most overrated fuck in Hollywood history. His movies are not that good.

Following is OK for a movie he made while working a full time job for zero money.
Memento is his only genuinely good movie but that's only because of the writing and acting, the rest is bad to mediocre (especially the cinematography and editing).
Insomnia is meh, only notable because Robin Williams plays a serial killer.
Batman Begins has horrible cinematography and editing, my eyes were in pain during the big set piece in the temple of the League of Shadows in act 1, the writing is also really by the book, with the villain's big plan being to release gas, just like in Batman 1989.
The Prestige bored me to tears (I fell asleep during it) and it looks really bad, I get the look he was going for but he failed.
The Dark Knight has slightly better writing, cinematography and editing but the sound mixing is awful, I had to watch the movie with subtitles because the music was drowning out the dialogue, Batman also sucks in it.
Inception is fine but again, cinematography and editing is atrocious (the one genuinely creative action set piece with the rotating corridor is executed poorly), it's also based on the dumb nonsense about humans only using 10% of their brains which is absolutely not true.
The Dark Knight Rises has plot holes on top of plot holes and the action sucks.
Interstellar starts off strong but ends up being a sappy melodrama.
Dunkirk is meh and all the previous technical issues I have with his movies (cinematography, editing and sound mixing) are horrible.
Tenet is the most pretentious garbage I've seen since Adaptation with Nic Cage, the plot makes no sense and we're only told about all the cool shit, most of the movie is just people sitting in rooms and talking.
Oppenheimer is a generic Oscar bait drama.

I understand why he's popular with normies but he's a mediocre director and a 6/10 writer when he's at his best.
People think that this movie is such a departure from his form, I think it's just right based on what I've seen from him so far.

Inception is a film on how awesome the people who make films are. Once you realize that, you can't unsee how much of a self masturbatory piece it is. It shitting on the entire cast for basic teenager philosophy question sours it even more.

Is that so? I've never looked at it that way.

I will say more negative about it from my perspective though:
He's clearly ripping off the anime Paprika but, instead of using the dream landscape to show some real visual creativity like the anime does, he has a train go through a city street and the most basic paradox staircase.
The dude has zero imagination.
