the core of the games are good enough that the bullshit can be ignored. Even though you play as Zelda, Echos of Wisdom is a better game than the majority of AAA games that came out in the past few years.

And just because you play as Zelda doesn’t mean the game is woke either.

The localisers would have had to pull some fire emblem level bs to make that happen because the undercurrent snd core of the game flatly is not.

I don’t think they were saying playing as Zelda makes it woke. I think they bring it up because in Current Year Female Protag = Woke to a lot of people by default.

Even if the reason for picking Zelda is they had a fun idea for a puzzle game that fits more into Zelda’s traits and powers of Wisdom rather than Courage.

If a new game is released, woke until proven not. Especially considering the Tomb Raider reboots. Metroid dodges it mostly because Metroid Other M was a thing and they are never going to try pulling that shit again. People absolutely pray that Samus never opens her mouth again.

People are in general just skittish now, even if they know they are safe. The localisers could still screw up after all.

As for the older, classic games. Those are from the before woke times so are seen as ok.

It’s just people have seen so many bad games get shielded by having a women protag that if they see a women protag now they default to the game has a high chance of being bad
 
Nintendo can be very woke but not to the extend of the other two. They have not become terminal woke yet. But they do woke shit. Hopefully there will be enough woke failures to help them get the message. I, for one, did not buy the new TTYD. Vote with your wallets!

Rule of thumb, if the lead is an ugly, black dyke with a shaved, then its probably an agenda filled "game".
If the female protagonist is cute, beautiful or simply attractive, then its probably a normal game.

See, Marina or Shiver from Splatoon for example.

Unfortunately, NoA loves to target this series for pozzed localizations. They are non cannon, as are other nintendo games they deface.

Almost always. In TTYD they trooned Vivian even in Japan, it's maybe the first sign of the disease spreading to NoJ.
