It sounds like the same journalists that literally cream themselves over Sony games, make those articles as well.
 
It’s already insane enough to think that the Nintendo Switch is more than five years old, but even more insane that they want to move on from their most successful handheld console. I still wish they made a Wario Land-themed game.

It's really insane that they haven't made a new Wario Land in such a long time. It was a great series, just get some third party to make a new one.

That comment was about your first sentence, rather than the second. As to why Wario doesn't get platformers anymore, my guess is that they don't sell well enough for Nintendo corporate to push it and the series doesn't have a champion who actively does internal pitches for one. Maybe once Reboot Camp is out Wayforward can pitch one, since they seem to have the back catalog for that type of series.

Hard disagree, there. Wayforward is quite capable of making a game of that caliber (and, to be quite frank, anyone should be capable of making a graphics-only remake) and Nintendo, sans war, loses nothing by letting them. They clearly just do not want a "war" game coming out during an actual war. Its stupid as hell but very Nintendo of them.

Man I miss Reggie :( , don't know if its just me, but since he left I am sure nintendo's marketing has become more and more sterile
