The Switch is officially getting everyone’s favorite anti-piracy tool, Denuvo. Because the best course of action for an aging console that can barely run its own first party games, let alone graphics-heavy AAA titles, is to implement a system that makes games run significantly worse.

lol
lmao even
The one positive from this is the games I am likely to buy for Switch are unlikely to have Denuvo, so there's that in my favour.

But yes, this is absolutely fucking retarded.

Nintendo Responds To Media Speculation That ‘Splatoon 3’ Newcomer Shiver Is Non-Binary By Confirming She “Identifies As Female”

BTFO, troons and freaks.
Nintendo is smart by not being baited into participating in the LGBTQ faggotry

It may be nitpicky, but I still hate how Nintendo games no longer ask if the player’s customizable character is male or female; it’s always a “style”. In New Horizons, you’re locked into your island name and certain building locations forever, but changing your gender is a-ok. And the original Pokemon Mystery Dungeon asks if you’re a boy or a girl, but the Switch remake says something like “please pick the gender of the character that you will play as”, like they have to tiptoe around the possibility that a boy might play as a girl and vice-versa.

I mean, tbf, I've seen quite a few guys play as females in the few playthroughs I've watched. Although, in those cases, they were likely doing it for coomer reasons.

I may consider getting Splatoon 3 late in September as the World Premiere demo was fun but it was also my first experience in the franchise.

The one Switch game coming out this month that I'm kinda pessimistic about is the new Taiko no Tatsujin game, Rhythm Festival, which is built around the subscription model (Taiko Music Pass - up to 90 days). No idea if said songs from the pass will be available as DLCs to purchase as least.

And I need to finish Xenoblade 3 before ever purchasing Fairy Fencer F Refrain Cord or Dragon Quest X Offline, both coming out this September too.
too many interesting games on this console aaa

It's mainly american localizations pulling this inane crap. Like how Animal Crossing NH doesn't have the proper names of festivities such as Christmas when playing in english, but the JP version does.

Additionally I've been playing the Splatoon 3 demo in japanese and the character customization is just "Who are you?" (君は誰なんだ), though I dunno how it compares to the previous game.

That’s my point; when a game asks if you’re a boy or a girl, a guy who wants to play as a girl will just pick girl and move on. He’s not going to have an existential crisis as he attempts to decipher the question’s true meaning.

Speaking of Animal Crossing, the older games handled this just fine. When you buy clothes for the opposite gender, the shopkeeper basically says “oh, I see you’re getting a gift for a friend. anyway that’ll be 500 bells”. You can wear whatever you want, but that short message is just enough to tell the player “you can wear whatever you want, but you DO know that was made for girls, right?”

It's still gay they adopt their woke language, that she "identifies" as female. Fucking vomit.

It's less tiptoeing person playing as a different sex character in game. It's more or less of somehow words "Male" and "Female" with male and female anatomy accordingly in character creation is problematic. It's subtle not to be easily noticed by normies, but when you get idea why in "political correct", it becomes unseen.

It's not just Nintendo does this, Capcom does with recent Monster Hunter and FromSoftware with Elden Ring, "Body type" instead of "Style/Appearance". No it's not just localization or translation, it's literally "Body type 1/2" in other languages as well.

It's funny that somehow Japanese companies did these first then US companies follow later, like Borderlands Tina's Wonderlands, WoW, Saints Row, Starfield and 40k Darktide. But you could argue somehow it's Cyberpunk 2077 controversy starts all this first.

Looks like Nintendo is starting to get cocky now that they’ve re-solidified their role as the top console maker.
According to developer Gamuzumi, Nintendo has changed its approach to content it allows on its platforms, and no longer permits uncensored breasts to be shown in games approved for systems like Switch.

The studio was hoping to bring Hot Tentacles Shooter to the eShop in the near future. But earlier this month, Gamuzumi said “Nintendo is increasing their restriction about what can be published or not on their consoles” and after sending the title for review, the team was told that it might not fit console policies.
Gamuzumi shared a follow-up about the situation on Twitter a couple of days ago. After receiving more communication from Nintendo, it appears the company is not allowing uncensored breasts on its consoles. This is apparently because “obscene content could damage the brand and infringe its policies.” Any games that were made with such content now supposedly require censorship.
I kind of want to call bullshit and say there’s more to it since Bayonetta exists, but Nintendo’s brand is that they’re the only one of the big three with lax censorship policies and they should want to keep it that way.

Aside from a very small segment of weirdos (us) that is 100 percent not Nintendo's brand.

Yeeeeah, naw. Ninty's always been the more family-friendly option compared to the other two (there's a reason shit like Eternal Darkness and Conker stood out so much on their respective consoles - they were the exception, not the rule). And they were even stricter back in the 90s (e.g. the SNES version of Mortal Kombat having no gore).

Since this thread talked a lot about the 8bitdo controllers, I figured I should let you guys know they're releasing an 'ultimate controller'

3 different SKUS, but the most expensive one (70 dollarydoos) uses Hall Effect joysticks.
I already have two sn30 pro+'s but I just ordered one of these, I don't own a switch but I play mostly switch games via emulator and the sn30 pro+ has been amazing. I really wish they were going to make it available in the transparent purple but black will work.
