Oh boy. Double the salt from XB3 coming bois

Just posted about how I like the XC3 trailer in another server and has the resident pokemon fan sarcastically respond "looks good, shame the graphics look like dog water" (same wording as when I said Arceus had dogwater graphics). Same guy has also been claiming I'm critical of every series but I think Xenoblade can do no wrong.

What is it with Pokemon fans? I actually said I liked Arceus but thought the graphics looked shit but because I won't take the whole shaft then I'm a hater and a hypocrite.

As someone who was a little sour at every Nintendo fan basically acting like Xenoblade was the devil incarnate last week, this would be absolutely hilarious and satisfying. I don't see it though. I guess I can't be too mean though. They have had a history of shit sports games lately.

Luckily never had to deal with the drift. Now having said that I’ve cursed myself and probably will go home to all my controllers being dog shit.
I still haven't experienced the joycon drift and the Switch is the system that I'm primarily gaming on

I also finished the TMNT game this week which is another good 2022 title in the list.
Worst part about Joycon drift is that for a while it was completely denied by people. It was claimed that it "didn't exist" and there was "exaggerated reports" even from the community. And all because they personally didn't experience it. Thus pointing out that Nintendo fans are absolute dribbling retards who think that in order for something to be broken, it needs to be broken for all.

The fact that drift is just as likely to occur on the Switch Lite is horseshit since that's guaranteed to ruin the whole console
>Can't play certain games on it
>If stick drifts, you have a dead handheld
>comes in faggy colors outside of blue/gray

Why did Nintendo think it was a good idea for this version to exist in the first place?

What's wrong with the other colors?
because pink and yellow are for giiiiiiiirl!1!!1
the colours are fine.

i just wish they were available for the normal switch because i'd like to have that blue but, aah well.
Drift is already a bitch on my joycons currently and I'm surprised they've lasted me about 4 years at this point. ik i could get a new pair but why bother. the 3ds didn't have this bs and mine still works eons later. until Nintendo fixes their quality control (hah) or my joycons wont even move a direction anymore, I aint budging. maybe its cuz drift doesn't bother me that much other than making smash unplayable but i don't mind not playing that game anymore.

Also I'm mainly hoping for Pokémon news soon. gen 6 through 8 were near series killers for me until legends Arceus came about. hope they learnt from that game enough to implement it properly into gen 9. Hate series that their mainline games are of a shittier quality than their spinoff games. Mario is also a victim of this just barely.

But getting back to my earlier point.... after awhile it feels depressing that this new modern console is being used primarily just to play old games that I might actually already own a version of. It almost feels like the console was pointless.
This has been true for a while, but is especially true now: The best way to do “modern gaming” is to get the current Nintendo console for its first party exclusives, and a PC for literally everything else (or Xbox if you’re on a budget/can’t into computers). There are plenty of great first party Switch games, but if you don’t care about those, then there’s really not much of a reason to get one.
Also, this may just be me, but one thing that's bugging me is it feels like there isn't really a distinction between "PC" and "Console" anymore. Whenever I look at the eshop it often reminds me of those old "100s of shareware games" CDs you used to find for MS-DOS. It's like... whenever I think of the NES or SNES or Genesis, those consoles each had a unique "identity." But the Switch feels like a melting pot of sorts, a smorgasborg.
This is the case for consoles in general now; at least the Switch still feels unique for (again) its exclusives while Microsoft has literally given up on exclusivity and Sony is slowly moving in that direction. The day Nintendo puts its games on PC will be the day PC and console truly lose all creative distinction.

I think a big part of this lack of unique identity is the music. Cartridge-based systems up through GBA relied on proprietary sound chips with soundfonts as opposed to all-purpose CD audio, so they all sounded unique. Take a multiplatform game that was released on both SNES and Genesis, and even if they look the same, you can probably tell which is which by how they sound. Now when a game is released on multiple systems, there’s no more creative distinction; the only difference is the power of the hardware unless there’s some system-exclusive feature like amiibo.
(shockingly, Mighty No. 9 isn't on the Switch)
MN9 was released during the Wii U era, and it was the buggiest version of an already broken game. It’s also the only game that’s ever outright crashed my Wii U without the help of mods/homebrew.

All this talk about controllers.... early on I got Hori Split Pad Pro and 8BitDo SN30 Pro+ and since then didn't even touch regular joycons. I hated them just because they're small and uncomfortable. Recently my nephew had issues with his joycons which were fixed just by giving him these same alternatives.

The Switch is the first console where I entirely stopped using first-party controllers. In the past I would use third-parties for niche situations (like the neGcon for racing games) but usually resort to defaults for everything else. Switch's defaults just suck so much though.

@Two Dollars .... Funny thing is I actually bought my Switch just for being the cheapest platform I could afford that could run Dragon Quest Builders. The only first-party exclusive I cared about was Breath of the Wild, which turned out to be an okay experience at best. So far I'm happy enough with the thing and haven't really seen a lot of reason to get any other modern console or PC, especially with how many games require internet these days (my internet situation sucks... basically any game or console that requires you to check online on a regular basis would be unplayable to me).

I'd say DS still retained a certain degree of unique audio. It definitely isn't as distinct as Genesis or something, but a number of games still had like a "MIDI" sound, for lack of a better term.

My buddy has had a Lite for 2 years and no drift. I think they put the same stuff in the Lite as the Pro Controller. I've been using the pink and green ProCon for around 3 years now and have never had a problem with it, the ProCon is my favorite controller ever. 100% worth the money over the 8bitDo SN30 Pro which sometimes has trouble connecting to the console. Gets annoying playing multiplayer games that make you map up controllers repeatedly. (Mostly Marryo golf.)
However, the portability of the 8bitDo is nice. It's more comfy to use when undocked and its small size works better for travel.

(:_(I am having a problem with my Switch though. I have almost filled up my SD card and my console memory. Too many games. :'(

Has Nintendo mentioned anything about more N64 games? Hopefully the next batch release with 2 at a time instead of 1.
Nah, they're still releasing one each month, with an announcement trailer a week before hand.

At this point, I think they got Super Smash Bros, Mario Party 1-3, Wave Race 64, some Rare games (I'm thinking Banjo-Tooie, Diddy Kong Racing, and Donkey Kong 64 are guaranteed), and some third party games left. They want to keep people on the Expansion Pack, then they may need to look into getting some GameCube support going (assuming that isn't its own $75 subscription, of course).

Gamecube? Haha, those don't get the NSO treatment, those get remade entirely and sold at full price.
